I will search the forums on internet for exact specs of these protectors for DIY guide so that every one interested can get them made easily as they wont cost anything above 1300 bucks.
Well that would be great.. count me in..

      Traction Control Explained
Yes you are right.. But there is a difference between tire loosing traction due to acceleration and tire loosing traction due to excessive breaking..
And what I tested was for breaking.
Also what ratan prabhu asked was for tire skidding due to breaking.. Please you go through his posts again.

      • After several weeks, I got back to test my riding ability with Chennai CBR 250R group to Pulicat lake. Had taken some pics & will post them in appropriate thread.

Route - Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, India - Google Maps

Anyway map isn't important, we'd about 7 riders except Silver color most members of this forum & one or two outside. This was also the time I got to test my new MRF tires. Like I said earlier, the front 110/70-17 is RADIAL & the rear is regular ply.

FE was disappointingly 29 Kmpl, may be I'm missing my old touches & trying to be extra cautious at the cost of clutch & brakes Please...DON'T ask me for the feedback on the tire, with over 250+ Km, I can't really comment if they're good or bad. So far they're OK that any tire can do. There's additional fairing buzz post 6.5K RPM, but that didn't have any effect on the pickup or top speed though.

What irked me to post this was the service. I usually give my CBR to service at JSP Honda, but this time for a change (to check engine) I left at Didar Egmore; despite giving them 2 weeks without a pressure, they FAILED to check the buzzing noise (which is mentioned in the JC) + additional noise from front fork on hard braking was left unattended. Service cost? Way too huge!!! If I said MRF tires costed about 7K for both front & rear would anyone believe it That too when they told me the cost over the phone it was 6K & 2 days later they increased to 7K. They didn't clean the chain either!!! During the group ride, a few members said, Didar uses non Motul chain lube these days & charge about Rs 200 for lubing the chain

The only difference between JSP & Didar I see is, JSP don't acknowledge work involving external work such as arranging tires, small tinkering work, but charge to the norm, while Didar acknowledges all such work, but charge exorbitantly.

        • How many of you're willing forward to make contribution towards your ASC experience (ONLY SERVICING, NO SALES) & we can combine everything in one single post?

Never mind its good/bad/ugly, just a honest feedback as what you feel; even if someone says a specific ASC is bad, doesn't matter if someone else says its good. A true honest feedback/opinion (personal too) across India.

We can probably club it under post #9900; what say folks?

Sure why not .. Here's mine feedback
            SVC- My Wings honda
            Location - Pune, kothrud
Experience- Given my bike many times for different things .. Only good at the basic things like Chain lube/tight, engine oil change, washing bike etc etc but not good at all technically.
            I respect the threat.

What was the price of front tyre alone???

                Really good idea..
                My Experience:
ASC: Didar honda - Egmore, Chennai
                First service.
                Good
                • They finished servicing in 2.5-3 hrs.
                • Changed Oil and filter.

                Bad
                • changed clutch setting such that there was no free play. Changed it back to normal after asking.
used synthetic engine Oil instead of mineral. (never mind as aargee's post says it doesn't matter on Blade.)

                Ugly
                • Had false gear problem at gear 5: not fixed although they said its fixed
                • Radiator not cleaned. (Not sure if they are supposed to clean it)
                • Charged 1333 for first service. . Actually I still haven't received my manual. So didn't had coupon. So not sure what had to be done.

                Final Rating: 2.5/5

When I went for service, i was told that they would deliver it by 3pm. So thought to get beard shaved meanwhile, as my blade still was still not taken to CBR bay. So left for shave at 10:15am, found a naturals around 800 mtrs ahead. Got a call from didar honda at 12:30 saying vehicle is ready for delivery. So not sure about what they used for lubing chain and other stuff.

Lesson Learnt: No matter what, don't leave your blade ( or vehicle in general)

@aargee: How about JSP honda service?

                Query
                1. I am still having false gear issue at gear 5 (say 1 out of 5 times) and sometimes at gear 6 (say 1 out of 10 times).

Now as Blade's gear lever is set a little higher that my old karizma, I thought to get it changed, but by the time of first service, I was comfortable with this setting. So didn't get it changed.

Now I am confused whether problem is at my end (i.e. m not able to change gears properly) OR is it some other problem..!!

                2. Can up-shifting of gears can be done without clutch work..?
Tried it and false gear issue never replicated.

As for now, working with a mixture of both, i.e.
Preload - Press clutch - immediately shift gear.

                  My experience so far:-

                  bought my bike from
                  ASC :- Rohan Honda
Customer Relation and Sale of Bike :-
The sales guy was more than willing to help
                  1) Being my second honda was surprised that the bike was delivered
way before the promised delivery date.
                  2) when It was delivery time the work was not upto the mark, there
were fair bit of issues which I had to resolve by investing time with
                  them.

Completed my first service last month after completing 20 days hence purchasing my bike

                  ASC vedict:-

There was Issue with Steering coneset and a bit of wobble.

                  1) The actual technician had resigned so they allocated a young guy to do
it (I guess he was barely out of his teens).
                  2) he took a hammer and screw driver to fix the steering issue and I went bersek, i gave ASC manager a piece of my mind.
                  3) later they opened the whole steering assembly and fixed it.
                  4) The young guy was good at work though he did everything else in a smooth manner as told and fixed the Oil filter and Oil change with handling of Fairing pretty well. and completed the basic things in 2 hours, no shim check though and also i was unwilling as my bike is running smooth.
                  5) they were However unable to fix the issue of bike stalling in between gear change early in the morning or in cold climate.
                  6) while washing my bike after the service they had placed a carboard to protect the radiator which they forgot to remove after washing and through some intuition I had to remove it barely 300 m after I had left after the servicing.

                  All in All
I think The ASC is unable to handle technical Issues and their Workman ship is still lagging behind, what I really like is they are better than lot of ASC here in PUNE one notorious being Sterling Honda in PCMC.

                  Regards

Like I said above, they don't do a single external work, like wheel alignment, tire change (unless you give them tire & tools to change ), dent removal or anything, at the same time, they charge what they're supposed to charge, no additional service charges. etc. No one here or offline has told me they charge anything for chain lubing or anything so far. They don't get you carbon fibre parts or anything like that.

Didar is quite opposite to JSP; they get done anything & everything you want which ofcourse comes with additional service charges. I was under the impression they do phenomenal job, but to my dismay, they didn't carry out one of the job I mentioned in my last JC either.

IMHO, after hearing so many stories, I think the poor ASC job or spares unavailability is not restricted with any of the dealership or even HMSI as such; its like a cancer spread across this country (like corruption) for all the motorcycles, barring a very very few of them.

Try Motul 300V (at discretion) or be adamant to fix the issue; take the CBR mechanic along with you & demonstrate the issue.

                    Very very dangerous; I tried & I couldn't shift gear like I normally do on my Rx sometimes when the clutch cable cut off;

                    • Sorry to say but ASC in Jalandhar punjab is a big crap no expert engineers , not even a center stand to use for servicing a bike . Your errors and problems will always persist , waste of money its better to service bike some where out of your local city . I was the first to buy CBR ABS in punjab and was very excited about it also i guess i was first to do a DIY for projector lamp in cbr . I had a very bad experience with it i really respect every bike but this service station is zero regarding with other honda standards . My Civic honda asc is thousands time better . Lately i decided to sale the bike and go back for karizma but due to less demand and high price i was offered very less price as you all know its a dealer,s habit and profession my bike has only done 3500kms in one year . I am sorry to say but over all its a bad experience and ASC is responsible for it .

After a long time back on this firm really feels like home and nice to see family again .

                      • Was prepping myself for an I-day get together with xbhp and other bikers in the city until today afternoon when i noticed i have been riding for the past 3 days with a broken fork oil seal!
I always noticed smoke coming through my console area but it never occurred to me that it was oil burning on my cylinder/radiator etc because i was used to the small amount of dust burning there and smoke emanating during rain. What a POS day!

Rode carefully to the ASC(20-30kmph) and handed over the bike. Told them to get it fixed because the bike was serviced about 1.5k kms ago and this wasnt expected! They agreed but i think i'm going to be charged for this again(also they have no oil seal in stock). Went to SVC manager and asked him the situation update on the block thing. He said they arent gonna just replace the block but the block comes as a kit with new piston included and he will be doing it by Saturday( i personally dont mind having to do run-in again since the bike is already due for next service in Oct )

Came out and put a Job Card while having discussion with the SVC person and the CBR mech. They were surprised to hear about the block replacement and i pointed out how my engine has gone from all black to silver/grey and they said "Sir that is normal. Even the latest lot bikes which were delivered just last week return with chipped block paint. This is a 250cc engine sir and it produces lots of heat. It is very normal"

Now id like to see who is going to backtrack their statements. The SVC manager who readily agreed to switch blocks or these idiots
Will be getting the bike back this Saturday. Idiot Mech also tells me "Sir we dont stock fork oil seals because we dont get to use them that often"
No wonder customers suffer due to lack of spares. These ASC idiots dont even think about stocking them in the first place until somebody comes up with an accidental situation
                        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Well this doesn't work, not only with Honda, even with Ninja, Ducati, HD or even Pulsar. For a simple reason that not all the parts are supplied by manufacturer themselves even if its non critical part.

Most manufacturers ship the spares only on NEED basis & dealer has to show JC, without which the money is credited back to dealers account without shipping the part.

OT: at what date did you got your cbr?

                            Comment

                            • My experience :

                              Buying experience :
I booked my cbr non abs at JSP honda ambattur.I had to take delivery from the Jsp honda annanagar since they informed that they wont deliver cbr at Jsp ambattur branch. Positively , they delivered my bike within the promised date but here comes the worst case, i was informed to take delivery on 11-nov-11 but made me wait for 2 hours then me and my dad blasted them and went without taking delivery.I am called over phone and they apologised.I took delivery on the next day.
I didnt expect this kind of service for the premium product. But had to digest because of a great product.

                              Service experience :

                              At JSP anna nagar:
They will do the basic things like changing oil and filter , lubing very well but when you point some problem they wont get that fixed or they will fix partially and they will introduce another new issue in your bike which u haven't experienced before. That too, will ask for more time than actually needed ( eg : they took a week to fix shim even that too not addressed properly ).
Hence , not satisfied and they dont have enough technical knowledge to sort out the issues you are pointing. Atleast they are better at sourcing spares than other ASC's.

                              At Didar egmore :
They are certainly better on sorting things other than general (Issues you are pointing). But it will last no longer than a month and as said by aagree they will charge exorbitantly.Still they know how to fix issues but not a permanent solution.

The above statements are based on my experience whether it may or may not be true to someone.
Overall a great product and the worst service support i have seen.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow there won't be
