1. Your bike is in warranty dont even pay 1Rs to them for replacing shims
2. Last time i checked my bike for shims the charge was 300per shim for replacing one shim ( which was in may 2012 )
In Which SVC have you given your bike ??I respect the threat.

Guys whoever needs FRONT tire replacement, give a thought to MRF 110/70 R17 (stock size). The rating is 54S & the most important factor is that IT IS RADIAL MOTORCYCLE TIRE. Which means, it has a payload for 467 Lb or 212 Kg & the tire is designed for 112 mph has been tested up to 180 Kmph. Yikes!!!
Edit - Some pic I took this morning, let me know if anyone wants to see a different angle of the tire (like rating etc) & I can do that for you
Front
Rear
Binoooooooooooooooooooy....From my experience, the front tire needs replacement around 20K or so. DO NOT take this lightly!!! This is the reason for my bone dislocation. Pls take it seriously to change the tire & I've a good news for you in this post (posted above)Originally posted by Binoy View PostThe front tyre is almost bald as it has done 23K+ kms
, need to change it ASAP...

Ah typical issue; I'd this issue earlier & its a minor fix; something related to clutch cable adjustment, I don't think the ASC charged me either. I got this kind of cover at my asc which was for Rs 265. The quality is great and fit is near perfect.. But last time i checked they were out of stock and the guy at the parts counter said that they received the covers after few days of cbr launch. And with a proud smile he said that dont expect the covers in future as he was confident that they wont get any covers in the future..Originally posted by cheRrYy View Postguys i am in need of a outdoor cover for my cbr.cover with a honda logo will do awesome.any suggestions aon where can i get it

Got first service done @929kms.. Still the engine wasn't feeling rough..Originally posted by aargeeQ. Can I get my bike's 1st service done before 1000 Kms?
A. Yes you can; but wait to feel the roughness in engine; getting it done in 100-200 Kms or around 800 Kms are overkill. Getting it done at right time is more important.
Got it done at Didar Honda, Egmore.

I've a bad habbit to shifting between 1-N-2 & mostly to N after shifting to 2nd instead of half clutch in 2nd; I wouldn't encourage anyone to do this unless you've very very careful as it sometimes is a big threat to oneself. Remember one thing, 1st gear & open clutch, the bike moves at 7 Kmph comfortably; 2nd gear & open clutch, the bike moves between around 12-13 Kmph. No knocking, no jerks, absolutely nothing. May be you need to use the combination of 1st & 2nd.Really comfortable with gear switches and rpm now.. Also following aargee's method of 1-N-2.. initially has few goosebumps :P but going good now..Originally posted by Nithesh View PostIt is a CBR. Not a Splendor. 4-5k rpm is far away from the "Redline" on your tacho and it is so for a reason! Do not be afraid to revv higher but do it gradually in any gear. No sudden acceleration/Deceleration
@nithesh:
.. right in a way.. on my karizma I usually rode till 4-5 rpm as redline starts at 8rpm. So was following the same mindset for Blade as well. But as stated above, m comfortable with rpm now..
Thanks for your comments Nithesh.. Appreciate that.. But I was just writing the test case (Habit of a Software Engg :P) to produce the problem.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostSteps for the problem mentioned by @yashwanthms and also faced by me:
1. Ride to 2nd gear.
2. RPM meter reading 3-4 rpm.
3. (Lets say there is a speed breaker ahead or an auto comes in the way suddenly). Leave the throttle down completely.
Try pulling in the Clutch completely when you let go off the throttle and shift down simultaneously to lower gear(1st) and slowly release clutch halfway till you feel its engaged. Once you pass the speedbreaker shift up(2nd) and accelerate gradually. If you cut off throttle at such low rpms it will fall back to 2k rpm in a second and there isnt much torque in that rpm to pull your bike through.
4. Now I hear something like "dhuk" sound. Its not rattling/buzzing sound.- If the throttle is left slowly, no sound is heard.
Yes and you will notice your rpm needle is falling back slowly compared to when you completely let go off the throttle. This is why you dont hear the knock. - If clutch is pressed, no sound is heard.
Yes because power from the engine has been cutoff so your bike isnt depending on engine power to move forward. - Not sure if it is knocking. (But I don't think its knocking)
It has to be knocking - If the above procedure is done above 5 rpm, very very mild sound heard. But is it justified to take new bike at 5-6 rpm @gear 2 and 3??
It is even justifiable to take a brand new bike all the way to 8k rpm or even more. There is no limit here. Only it is meant to be reached gradually and not by sudden twist of throttle.

Following the same aargee ji.. wait for single bar, then ride..Originally posted by aargee View PostIt's not a book rule; all through the 29K km, what I RELIGIOUSLY follow is, to wait until a single bar shows up & then ride very very sane until 3 bars show up & then gradually open the throttle. As a matter of fact, I don't open the throttle suddenly unless there's an absolute requirement. Revving up is different though.
Ok.. Any specific reason for such a big and strong NO..!!Originally posted by Nithesh View PostNO!. Just wait for One bar and ride slow till it warms upto 3. Do not idle the bike for more than 2 minutes nomatter what the situation!
Well, lets take it this way.. when I am spending 1.92 lacs for my favorite bike, why not spend another 3500rs (which is not even 2% of the price of bike) for my favorite color option. Infact It didn't even crossed my mind that 3500rs is expensive for painting 4 silver panels black. Not sure if it is or not.. Any comment guys..!!!Originally posted by Nithesh View PostWhat in the blue world? 3500 for painting just those 4 silver panels black? Isnt that a bit on the expensive side?

Lets see this way..
If I drop my blade at low speed (0-20),
CASE 1: Fairing may not get damaged enough to be replaced. But the rattling sound will start comming from the fairing. And every time I go over a pot hole or uneven rode, that rattling sound will break my heart each and every time..
.. Also If I go to ASC guys asking to set it right, well we all know their response and even if they work on it, after few days again sound starts. e.g.
CASE 2: Fairing gets damaged and I cannot ride my blade. Now we all know the scenario with availability of spare parts.Originally posted by karthic M View PostGuyz, I am having problem with the fairing it gets loose often and makes noise when i ride over potholes. The reason I want to go for crash bobins is because I don't want to cry and wait for those n number of days when my blade's fairing is having issues. And when we have no cut frame sliders available for our blade, I really don't mind spending 10-12k (which is 6% of blade's price) more to stay happy for longer duration.
Query:
In case of accident at high speed say 100+ kmph, how badly can these frame sliders affect bike?
Even I am searching for the same sir.. Not sure if we can even get it in India.Originally posted by Speed_Rider View PostWhere can I get Frame Sliders for CBR 250-R in Chennai and what is the cost of them?

Consider the following scenarios:Originally posted by aargee View PostPls...LEARN; its good in long run
1. I am getting my blade out of the parking place. (its at a higher level compared to ground, so I take it backwards over the slope. I hope you are able to picturize, else I can attach a photo) Some times, I place my foot wrongly and loose balance and thud.
2. I put my blade on side stand, ground is not as stable as I thought and after few seconds thud.
3. I applied emergency brake, averted accident, but lost balance and thud.
@aargee: Need to learn a lot of things sir.. as I am a new rider. Though I rode karizma R for 2 years (approx) but never knew there exist such amazing forums.. learning in progress..

been happy with the bike apart from bad tyre grip on wet roads , the tyres do skid on wet roads when brakes are applied strongly haven't done any adventure on the bike.ohk..Originally posted by Ratan Prabhu View PostMy question is for guys who own CBR 250r with ABS
On wet roads, if u do hard braking , does the tyres skid (wheel lock)... it does skid for me when i apply the rear brake very hard (no guts to pull front brake fully
in rains
)
the brakes are good no doubt .. but the rear does skid on hard braking in the rains or on gravels.. or is it just in my case ?
pre-requisite: I own a 20 days old black C-ABS blade.
Observation: I tried the same with my blade. The rear tire does skid. But its only for a split second and at the same moment I can feel the ABS working on my brake pedals and skid stops.
So I can summarize it to 3 steps (repeating at times)
1. Rear tire skids for a split second
2. ABS kicks in (which can be felt at foot brake pedal)
3. Rear tire stops skidding.
PS: Rear tire doesn't skid for long continuous duration disturbing balance.

HI-TECH or complex part.... may be because they are not easily available in the market but still on looking the images of Yoshimura protector may be we can get them made from local market.
I will search the forums on internet for exact specs of these protectors for DIY guide so that every one interested can get them made easily as they wont cost anything above 1300 bucks.

I don't know the reason for this query but presume that you want to know if the bike odo has been tampered with, so here goes.Originally posted by manz View Postone more query i have is is odo reading can be manipulated or reset.

Manu
This bike does NOT have a speedo/odo cable instead, the function is fulfilled by a sensor. This sensor is placed just behind the cylinder and can be identified by a slightly thick cable going into its head and the retaining bolt. If the male connector of this cable is detached from the female counterpart, two results are seen, namely
a) The speedo stops working completely
b) The odo and as a corollary, the trip meter too stops functioning.
I had to replace this sensor a a cost of Rs 2900 so am speaking from experience.
You can search for the workshop page scan here, somebody had put it up for my use.

besides wasting gas, you get more unburnt fuel which can cause oil dilution and cylinder wear, plus more carbon buildup from the unburnt fuel.
Well..
Lets see this way..

Well Let me put it this way. For the price of One protector you can have 2 pairs of side fairings stocked at ur home in the same color as that of your bike.
Speaking of Spares, Body Panels are available almost everywhere right off the shelf these days.
pre-requisite: I own a 20 days old black C-ABS blade.
Observation: I tried the same with my blade. The rear tire does skid. But its only for a split second and at the same moment I can feel the ABS working on my brake pedals and skid stops.

ABS wont work when your(or any) tyre loses traction... especially with ContiGos in the wet for the first few thousand kms. This is why bikes these days come with "Traction control" aswell The Skid we are referring to is not because of Braking so ABS wouldnt kick in.
I suggest you go through this:
Traction Control ExplainedGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
