I will return back on tuesday and will try to keep the bike below 120 and see how much mileage it returns.

Yesterday i did delhi-ludhiana with my friend(320-330 kms). He was on his ninja. The roads were good so we constantly were doing 125-130+ and touched 144 few times. I was unable to get past 144. There were very strong cross winds and i could literally feel it. The mileage that i got was just 25kmpl and within the city i get 28.5kmpl(which i've been tracking for more than 500 kms). I have done 150+ many times. This time the bike never crossed 9k rpm in 6th gear even though i had full throttle open this time most of the way. It looked like the bike is not capable of doing more than 144kmph. This proves that cross winds have a major role to play in top speeds and mileage.
I will return back on tuesday and will try to keep the bike below 120 and see how much mileage it returns.

Vasant - Never open the throttle 100%, you'll loose more fuel for the same top speed that you can get even with 80-85% throttle.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

The difference...Originally posted by techfreak View PostI didn't get your point, can u explain. I have also experience alike vasant....
1. You can do 120 at a little over half throttle
2. You can touch 120 with T.W.O
Only difference being, #1 takes time, #2 in no time; following #2 wastes lot of fuel as the fuel keeps pumping regardless of the input from O2 sensor. From a little observation, once you do T.W.O, the ECU's character is changed (takes sometime for it to adjust back) & even if you ride sensibly, the FE drops from what is regular.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I agree with you sir! Have experienced in my bikes too!Originally posted by aargee View PostVasant - Never open the throttle 100%, you'll loose more fuel for the same top speed that you can get even with 80-85% throttle.
I used to open throttle to reach desired speeds and then relax it a little and I can see the bike still maintains nearly the same speed.
@vasant, you too can try this! I assure it'll give you appreciable results!The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

Even then...what you can achieve with 100% throttle, you can achieve with 85% throttleOriginally posted by Mail2vasant View PostYeah i fully agree. But was not aiming for FE.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Hello guys!
On 15th morning at 5am with an odo reading of 911 and a full tank I started of to Nanded in Maharastra a 270km from my town Karimnagar. Stopping for about 5-10 minutes an hour I reached Nanded at 9am. I did not cross beyond 110km/70rpm. Short of 5km of Nanded I filled the tank as the single bar was blinking with the odo showing 1180km. After roaming around the town for about 20km and visiting few friends and relatives I left Nanded at 3.30pm. Just into 20km of the journey it started pouring and after riding for ten minutes and being completely drenched stopped for an hour for the rain to subside and started again in a drizzle, which accompanied me throughout. In slush the vehicle has absolutely no traction and goes its own way without any control! and also the front tyre when covered with mud scrapes the mudguard. As it was raining and I was not confident with the tyres, slowed down considerably and reached Karimnagar at 9pm. The tank still has 2 bars of petrol. I feel 270km on my up journey in 4 hours on ok roads is quite good and the return journey too in continuous rain and 3 hours after dark hours ride being finished in 5.30hrs is again ok. This as mentioned by Theironhorse gave us a little confidence for our pan Indian trip where we need to clock 600-700km daily.
Thanks guys!Last edited by praholla; 06-18-2012, 01:54 PM.

congrats ... u have lot of happy memories...Originally posted by aargee View PostCompleting my ONE year of ownership today evening around 5:30 PM. Many nice & not so nice memories out of 28770 Km.
No other vehicle has taken me...
so far as 80 Km to Pakistan & 80 Km to Srilanka;
so wide as to cover all 4 metro cities in the country;
to the only desert & to the strait of India;
through some forests, mountains, hills;
to some of dry & beautiful national highways & state highways;
to some of roadless roads;
through rains, scorching heat on all 4 seasons;
covering 14 states & 1 union territory;
yet, there's lot more to discover to the unknown

have you experienced this ..? generally i never ride with T.W.O. but now i wish to try this
. that T.W.O. is worth every drop of fuel if you are a sprinter than a tourer
.
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

Covered 3000 km on the Ladakh circuit last week. The bike performed superbly on tarmac but on gravel/sandy roads it was quite a handful. Will be looking for a tyre upgrade soon for more grip on these kind of surfaces.
One issue i faced was that the bike refused to go above 132 kmph on a super stretch in the plains. What could be the possible reason ? - The bike has been through its first service.
The total payload on the bike must have been 110 kg.

Thanks; I posted a Tks y'day not sure why it isn't appearing nowOriginally posted by kishoremuthu View PostRG & Binoy: congrats once again for showing the true potentials of CBR, one more time.
I don't post hoax or rumor; if its hearsay I would certainly mention it as not my experience; that said YES to your question. You're welcome to tryOriginally posted by abhiwar View Post
have you experienced this ..?
Yes; otherwise, one has to know the distance of fuel stations on that routeOriginally posted by abhiwar View PostT.W.O. is worth every drop of fuel if you are a sprinter than a tourer
