    as u know i was die hard wanna'be of GT250R and already booked it a month back

    and now due to all these stupidness of the DSK-H [i mean it] i decided to hold off my purchase till next 18 months or so. well my expected price of that was 2.5L ex-show but now its 25k overshoot of budget.. even though i went ahead and get it ..still the value will be dropped once the so called 18month low price bikes arrives.
    so logical step would be wait till then and proceed [still i am ready to go for it if its reduce price to some 25k].

    as i need a replacement for my 4year old R15 .. the easiest and more efficient upgrade would be CBR250R ... why ?? read below

    1. more practicle and i planned lot of trips this years some of which long distance
    2. very friendly to pocket
    3. very capable machine.
    4. my 2nd fav bike which i admire most [sorry ninja ]

    so my idea would be ..sell my R15 from which worst case i get around 50K .. and buy a CBR250R used one .. for around 1.2L-1.3L max and use it for next 2 years before going it to GT250R .. and it would be easy for me to keep CBR once GTR purchased in future..

    so to all wise guys .. plz give ur some suggestion about my thought

    and plz let me know if u come across anyone decided/knows selling/available CBR
    gud choice bro i have also sold my 2010 r15 for cbr and i am happy owner of my baby cbr haven't face any issue till now.
    my suggestion to you is close your eyes and go for cbr250 r

      Engine kill switch only cuts off the engine, not the ECU. So as long as ur ignition is on, the ecu is on too. When you switch on the key, you will notice ur speedo come alive. That is the ECU checking in.

      • Hi,

        I was wondering if anybody over here has any experience regarding steel brake lines. I was thinking of installing them on my Std Cbr along with Dot4 oil.

        Aargee, PSRji ... please if you can give your valuable inputs.

        I was thinking of going in for HEL Performance Brake Line.

          You mean Steel Braided Lines ? if the stock line in your bike seem to extend on hard braking...indicated by spongy lever response, then you can give it a try.But under normal riding conditions it is actually not warranted. A good line which does not extend under pressure will do the job well.
          Changing to DOT 4 will give you better braking.If I am not mistaken Pulsar 220 which uses Bybre comes with Steel Braided line...

            Yes sir, I was speaking about SS braided lines. So as per to you, is it advisable or not? I've definately decided to go in for Dot 4 but then just thought of brake lines cause, changing both oil & line at the same time might save some labour expenses. Also have read a lot of good reviews on the SS brake lines.

            Kindly advice.
            Thanks

              CBR 250 R comes with a good Brake line and with DOT4 gives good braking.Steel braid is warranted for higher repetitive braking effort which will over a period of time make the brake spongy due to the line getting stressed and loosing it's property. Even the normal lines in our bikes have either Nylon or steel braid inside the line as a second layer,and it is this which prevents them from extending under normal use.....more like the tubes used for home cooking gas lines.
              If you are particular go for the steel braided ones, else you can continue to use the stock line without issues.

                Well, The bike never lugged at 4k rpm for CBR though

                The engine was very comfortable at that rpm and anything above 4.5k rpm, Bike accelerates like anything

                I know that engine lugging is very bad when compared to ripping and however I ensured that no such thing happened

                  Thanks Sir for all the info. I guess, for now I'll go in for just Dot4 & then decide whether to go in for brake lines or not.

                  Thanks a lot once again.

                    Nagoo, since I know you personally...all the funda is fine except for one thing - holding the GT250R & CBR250R. You've to let go off one, may be C250R or GT250R & replace it with higher CC; it really doesn't give you a great difference.

                    MD24 - You've all the answers now; there're locally made steel braided lines available in the country for dirt cheap prices too.

                      So do u suggest going in for them?? I was never happy with the braking of our Cbr. Then you & Psrji mentioned about Dot4. But then again I would like to know it from you that, what is the percentage of improvement that I should expect if I go in for just Dot4 & Dot4 + brake lines?

                      Thanks

                          • Completing my ONE year of ownership today evening around 5:30 PM. Many nice & not so nice memories out of 28770 Km.

                            No other vehicle has taken me...
                            so far as 80 Km to Pakistan & 80 Km to Srilanka;
                            so wide as to cover all 4 metro cities in the country;
                            to the only desert & to the strait of India;
                            through some forests, mountains, hills;
                            to some of dry & beautiful national highways & state highways;
                            to some of roadless roads;
                            through rains, scorching heat on all 4 seasons;
                            covering 14 states & 1 union territory;

                            yet, there's lot more to discover to the unknown

                              gear lever has a slight bend

                              any idea for the costs and insurance cover. depressed looking at the bike like that...

                              can only one side of the fairing be bought or pair needs to be changed ?

                                Not worth claiming insurance for such petty small amounts
