Do you remove front wheel for this job ? Is it done in SVC ?
No no need to remove the wheel. The ASC didn't do it. Got it done from a bike accessories shop at Milan Subway, Mumbai. They charges for the drilling, screws and the flap. Total was around 120 I think...

Exactly! shIT happens. I had a day where my cbr had two falls in a day and first time, it was on tarmac and it managed to be fine without a single scratch. just the clutch lever was slightly bend. The same day evening, it again had a fall in sand with the clutch lever bending in more to a full curve and a very small scratch on the fairing (as there was a pointed stone below) i skipped a beat both times. And my general perception was that a faired bike if falls would be a very bad scene. But it wasnt. I am happy my bike could manage it.

You should get the fairing and headlight brackets (the entire assembly) checked and aligned. You never know there may be a crack or misalignment on the inside.

Besides any pointers and info on anti rust spray(other than the WD40 thing) for the metal parts here in Mumbai?
Metal maniac had posted about his experience with turtle wax and argee had extolled the virtues of collinite. But what in general would be recommended for painted fibre and metal parts?
I appreciate the fact that you have been through a right thread for wax and polishes. Turtle wax is a good product, but it requires a lot of hard work. The results are lovely and is more durable but then it is hard work. And it also stains any matt plastic area. So be very careful when using it. I use it on the tank, all fairing and painted parts and sometimes even on the windscreen.
Collinite on the otherhand is a very easy to use product. Results are good but dint find it as long lasting. But really really easy to apply and get off. Can be used on most surfaces. (i did use it on the matt black area and dint find it staining)
Didn't find a need to use a antirust till now accept for the mirror bolts which were later replaced by Honda.

Guys, please do attach a mudflap shown by chicmagnet or (there must be images of my DIY last year) because its really a lot of effort to clean the radiator after a ride in rains and will affect in long rides. This would be all you need and no other Radiator guard is required. Actually, no radiator guard can protect it from the mud and water splashing on it.
      Happy Monsoon!

Is it possible to acquire 250R sticker at the rear side panel without changing the whole silver panel ? If yes, where and how much ?

OH.....BTW....the whole combo (Nuvo+Bag+250R sticker+Black Heat Shield+Alloy) looks great & muscular... "Defiantly Male"

Thanks for the info....will hunt something similar here in kolkata. People here charge something astronomical once they realize it is a CBR.

Somebody had also posted that they had bought the same flap but instead of drilling a hole, they stuck it using fevi-quick. You could probably do the same and not take ur bike with you when you go to buy the flap

If you had just googled it, it would had pointed you to the answer.

Its size 4. One size smaller than that given in the kit. You would get it for Rs.10-15 for a good quality.
One tip: you may also get a complete allen key kit of various sizes for around Rs.30-40 but DONT buy it. It is no good. Instead just get a single good quality one.

You can get that 250R sticker made in any local stickering shop. I just took a pic of 250R and gave it the stickering guy and he made it. It a very easy job. It wouldn't cost you more than 50-60 bucks.

                      • Overdrive's June issue claims to have tested the Akrapovic Slip On exhaust for the 250R and timed it against the clock.
They claim it is about a second faster than their first shootout with the stock bike at 0-100 (9.2x seconds) and is now (8.1seconds) which is exactly as quick as their official N250R 0-100 timing.
Pretty much believable since their stock 0-100 time is already about .5-.7 of a second slower than what everybody else achieved and the weight shedding along with the minor bump in power may have shaved the remaining .4 seconds off

After the Initial problem, Honda seems to have stabilized the quality of CBR 250.The problem of non-availability of spares still daunts the owners, but is much better than before....all those having DOT 3 brake fluid in their CBR( Non ABS) please change to DOT 4. there will be a big difference to your braking...

Once again, I've to vouch this statement & highly indebtful for what you've done. If it were not for you, I would've not been alive to type this post today!!!

The DOT4 & the improper pad fixing issue that you found helped me to reinstate to ASC due to which I was blessed with super excellent brakes during my last trip. Now I'm beginning to feel STD has just adequate braking!!!
