I read somewhere that if we apply the front brake hard then the 80% is applied on front brake and 20% on rear break. Is it true Or not ??

After reading Honda's explanation of CBR 250R C-ABS working, i am also confused...
My experience had been with the Toyota Camry ABS,wherein the individual wheel is monitored and braking pressure is applied independently.....

Yes Sir, we're doing it in a closed environment, not in public as we're heading out to no man's land as our original intention is to test few other things & this has come up, so no big deal including them.

        • For the rear brake only test could we not test it while the bike is on a paddock stand?
I understand that it is not same as testing it out on the tarmac but would be interesting to see how it behaves

Disclaimer: This test would not be in the scientific interest but a fun experiment so before you people start tearing this comment apart and take things too seriously think of all the wacky things you tried as kids

                hey thanx man.. that helped..

actually , we have to understand that traction control and ABS are totally different things ...

i only wish honda equipped the cbr with better tyres like PSD or atleast the mrf

i rode a cbr150 (which have zapper q) and they provided much better grip than the 250r's contiGOs

                • It has been 3 days I got my CBR and looking for smallest excuse to ride but damn this climate. Yesterday alone I did around 120kms. On a particular stretch, I touched 86km/hr above 5k RPM. The fuel tank was vibrating a lot. Is it normal? My ride has done just 187kms. I ride within 5k only yesterday I went above 5k for a few seconds. Also till the first 500kms nedd to be constatntly under 5k ...right? After 500kms can take it upto redline ocassionally to settle down the engine?

hey , actually the manual only says that u should not do sudden acceleration and should avoid high RPM starts

but still , i dint go past 6000 RPM till first service
and regarding vibrations , check the oil level .. the bike is new.. dont judge it now.. after 1st service , it will be smooth..

for me, the bike vibrates only on 1st , 2nd , 3rd gear on 4 to 4.5k rpm... after that on every gear, in any rpm , there are no vibrations..

just to check whether it vibrates on high rpms, after 1st service i took it to 125kmph speed at 10.5k rpm on 4th gear.. there were very less vibrations.. much less than you would expect

Thanx for the tip. When did you get the 1st service done? I am planning to get it one by 600 - 700 kms. And regarding vibes at higher rpms, it is due to happen since it is a single cylinder engine.

On an update on my situation. I will rank 12/10 for the response my ASC has been giving me all these days. I have nothing to complain about. I barely reported about paint chipping a month ago and even before i knew it the SVC manager took my bike in, took some pics and uploaded it to Honda without my notice. Two weeks ago i went to check if there was any update but due to Holidays and everything HMSI delayed it.
But today to my amusement, the SVC manager contaced HMSI and Directly Told them that he has a spare cylinder block available and is awaiting a cover for the front and that he is going to replace it himself free of cost.
I was surprised so i asked him if HMSI gave him the nod and he said "Sir i have no problem if they give a nod or not, i will replace your block and cover for you when i have both in stock. Expect the cover to arrive in a week or two as ive already placed order 4 days ago for the same"
Now im surprised as to how on earth is he going to bear the cost of this if HMSI hasnt approved it?
I sure hope he isnt replacing my block with somebody's used block now
Id rather have my chipped block than some dude's abused old block.

i dint ride much before first service... as im always busy with studies
so the odo read around 430 kms when i gave it for 1st service..

btw, i guess u mistook my last sentence.. i said the vibes on higher rpm (9k+) are much lesser than you would expect.. i mean, being a single cylinder , i thought it would vibrate much more than what it actually did..

                          • hi to all i am thinking to do some kind of graphic conversion on my red cbr250r.
i got this picture from internet. now i am feeling paint job can be expensive so i am thinking to get something like this by graphics..i mean printing then pasting on my bike..

Do you mean the main engine block ..the cylinder head ? Do not go for the change, since you have to do run in all over again, and most importantly, you may not get a perfect fit as done in the factory. You must have the Piston and bore changed as a MATCHED pair only.....though the variation may not be much in size or procedure, head tightening should be done with Torque wrench only ,otherwise there will be warping which will cause cylinder/piston problem over a period of time.....You now have a set engine, without any problems.

                              • Some Info On COMBINED BRAKING and ABS

Guys some of us need to understand the function of ABS in cbr

                                1. C-ABS means that when you apply some hard pressure on the rear brake the pressure is distributed between the front and rear brakes both at the same time this is the function of combined braking but if you put pressure on the front brake only ,then it is independent from rear brake.
The concept is same as its present in ACTIVA with Combine braking with the main difference being an ECU,Pumps and reservoir chamber controlling the pressure.

                                2. ABS in this bike is not an ""ANTI SKID DEVICE"" or "" TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM"" it is a basic ABS with primary function to Just monitor and make sure that none of Tyre locks up.

                                3. If there is no traction between the road and the tyre then This is where ABS fails and bike will skid no matter what ABS does.

                                4. The ANTI skid device or traction control system are secondary functions of ABS but they are present only in SUPER BIKES and some Expensive Cars.

Hope this information Helps out ..
