@Argee: I have to say i really appreciate your hard work of collectively putting together everything related to CBR 250R right from start to ownership experience and what and what not to expect from the ride.. good work mate. Do keep it up..
@All: a friend of mine is desperately looking to pick up a CBR 250R.. would request riders especially based in Mumbai to rate SVC shop and any branches they would recommend best and at the same time if there is a shortage of essential stuff in that particular SVC, which SVC should one go to pick up the stock from.
Thanks again

Please asking him not to pick it up (unless he is John Abrahim)Originally posted by shv18 View Post@All: a friend of mine is desperately looking to pick up a CBR 250R..
I picked up my CBR after it had a fall from standstill and had to get my spine operated
(it was a sudden action and i lifted it the wrong way even when i knew the right method to pickup.. Please search Bluevolt's thread for picking a heavy bike after a spill to avoid it)
Answer to your Question: Well, it depends on where he stays in Mumbai. I say this because no SVC or dealer is found to be flawless and you never know how often he may require to take his bike to SVC. So if far, it will be even more frustrating. But just to pick a better one, many guys of our Team M.A.D (mumbai's cbr group) visit Om Sai Honda in Kandivali. Its said to be very good and even the Service Manager is a member of our group. I personally haven't been there but will try it for next service. I visit Vihaan, thane and its good but too far and they keep the bike for long. If he does stay in western suburbs, i would advice, avoid Venetian as they charge way too higher (eg. 350 for chain clean n lube, 1200 for 1 brakepad (std) etc) I dont have much idea about other SVCs and have never heard of anything good about any other SVC/dealer.You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

Shv18 , when it comes to taking care of a CBR 250 you are better off doing it yourself...go through this thread, and you will see how the Authorized Service Centers screw an otherwise perfect bike.....Originally posted by shv18 View Post@Argee: I have to say i really appreciate your hard work of collectively putting together everything related to CBR 250R right from start to ownership experience and what and what not to expect from the ride.. good work mate. CBR has a Gem of an engine with good chassis and suspension setup...
So whenever the bike is left for service, the owner must be with the bike and ensure what is expected to be done ...is done and done properly, otherwise you will walk in with a good bike, and walk out with glitches. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Thanks PSR Ji... had it been me, i would have taken care of it by myself... i have followed this thread for a while and from what i can understand; CBR's earlier quality issues have been ironed out by the manufacturer.. however in terms of after sales service they are having a severe or rather very poor scoring whether it is taking care of the job taken to the customer's satisfaction or availability of essential parts at times... Its just that Local knowledge from fellow xbhpians always helpsOriginally posted by psr View PostShv18 , when it comes to taking care of a CBR 250 you are better off doing it yourself...go through this thread, and you will see how the Authorized Service Centers screw an otherwise perfect bike.....

Being a Yamaha FZ owner currently, i can proudly state that we have one of the most professional, honest and prompt SVC here in Mumbai, Kamla Yamaha. However, i don't have much of an idea regarding Honda and SVCs associated with the brand hence, the query.
Thanks..

shv18 - Like you Kamal Yamaha, there're good ASC in every city; like Safire Honda, Didar Honda etc; there're also bad Yamaha ASC here in Chennai, Ambal Motors for instance.
While, selecting a bike based on ASC experience is a good point, one should also remember that, not all ASC's are bad nor all ASC's are good too. Like I keep saying, people who've spent 8L+ or more are also experiencing bad ASC's, so, for a 2L motorcycle, this should be common.
One thing that I realized very recently is, buying a Honda & BMW motorcycles doesn't make our country Japan, Germany or USA, we're still Indian & the ASC's are run by Indians. They're like this only!!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I got first service done in my presence and skipped second as It was not necessary and I was a bit busy with exams.. I got engine oil changed second time exactly after 2000k although servicing guy said it runs 6000km easily (he used mineral as synthetic not yet available in Mysore) will enquire again if synthetic is available so that I can retain warranty by gettingoil chnages in Honda service centres :/ they refused to change oil with once I purchase outside. Eitherways my bike is better off away from their ignorant hands
touchwood.

Is it only when the bike is in motion but slow? Usually, in monsoon there is a rubbing noise from discs when some dirt gets in between the brakepads and disc. Check that and get the brakepads cleaned if so. We dont hear the noise when the speed is higher as the frequency increases and the wind noise too.Originally posted by aman15 View Postgot new problem with the bike..
