  • I guess going one size over(150) for better tyres is good choice only thing they should fit without ny modifications..

The rear is one size up at 150/XX-17. So that wouldn't be useful to us unless one doesn't mind going over stock. Once i did hear from a stranger uncle from Pune who rides a CBR250R and his son too has his own CBR250R which had these tires installed (both front and rear) and were way better than contigo.. But no first hand experience.

I actually took my ride to ASC coz of rattling after 5k rpm.. It got fixed.. And after following what many people suggested here, the problem does not occur after 4k rpm at all.. In first gear and 2nd gears, at around 2-3,3.5k rpms it occurs usually..

So I started to ride in 1st gear only at bad roads and speedbreakers, because if I ride in 2nd gear with half clutch, even though I can go through a speedbreaker easily, once I start to open the throttle I can feel a bit of engine lug, which is bad and half clutching might affect clutch plates as well.

That jerk/knock thing occurs in 1st gear still, as I can't help but ride around 2.5k rpms at times in 1st gear.. But when releasing the throttle, if I hold the clutch a bit, it doesn't occur...

So, @aargee, if I hold clutch a bit everytime I am slowing down too much in 1st gear to prevent the knock, does it still affect the clutch plates?

It is like a buzzing sound?

Well, if you disengage the clutch gradually, you really don't need to hold the clutch on a level road

Same answer as above; you need to disengage cautiously & gradually

Holding clutch for extended periods leads to lower clutch life; learn to ride avoiding using clutch as much as possible & use only at absolutely necessary times.

Yeah.. Kind of buzz and a little knock..

And yeah, I release the clutch gradually only.. I won't hold it in level roads.. Only during speedbreakers and bad roads, I hold it a bit..

Knocking might be due to riding style; buzzing is genuine issue, take to ASC & get it fixed. It might be due to fairing.

WEIRD... saddle bags never touch the wheels!! Did you actually check that it's touching or you are just anticipating!?

I didnt remove the Saree guard. So it protects from one side. For the other side, try to tie bungees so it will protect in case it dives inside.

yes, it does touches due to the big gaps. Need to put it with care. Else there are different saddle bags for CBR/KTM

                    • Cbr riding tech

                      Hello All
Since we have an Important topic of discussion here about clutch use and all, I will try to pour in some information here.

BTW Thanks for some really good insights about riding,
                      Defination of half clutch :-
which means in technicl terms the clutch is released gradually and the brake lever is depressed simultaneously without stalling the bike/car etc. which is only to be used while pulling up on uphill.

Now we are used to boxer engines when we start riding where we are so used to torque spread that we ride it in higher gears without lugging in traffic.

As we know CBR and higher cc bikes are high revving (short stroke) bike
there is no spring for or tappet used as compared to bikes in our
market, this is primarily designed as spring looses it stiffness at high
temprature and if they (OEM) provide higher stiffness spring then the
engine will be over worked to overcome the stiffness of spring.
so they have desined the bike with finger follower and shims which work well in proper riding conditions

                      now we can deduce
                      1) If we use half clutch while riding, we generate high temprature as
Engines energy developed is transformed to heat so the rise in
temprature, this inturn reduces clutch life and gruff engine(no
                      smoothness) hence vibrations etc.

                      2) If we keep on riding with half clutch technique the heat generated due to the heat Energy transformation will lead to localised heating of shims which will expand and contract unevenly and will in turn lead to shim noise that we hear and have to change ASAP. Now withstanding the supply issues we are facing as there are 70 shim sizes in total.

The verdict is this bike is only meant for riding on freeways as Honda could not design a bike specifically for our country in this scenario it does not mean we cant ride the bike in cities, but sadly our country does not follow any rules whatsoever. so this way we are forced to use half clutch at the behest of engine heating issue and the breakdowns

Hence better to shift to neutral and be patient and then engage gear in traffic is what I would suggest.

                      Regards

Yes it touches if not properly placed. My colt bag got burnt slightly because of improper weight in one side.

Also noticed it is easier to get Honda's attention by filling that tiny form on their website instead of typing emails(which i think gets automatically sent to their spam msgs). I finally got a response after filling out that tiny form even though i had already sent my 4th email the same night in the last 5 months to which they havent replied to date.

There's a mail now which says "We will get back to you shortly on your feedback/complaint". *waits and watches*
