  • Great Deal on cbr in Chandigarh...!!!!

After watching about CBR on this forum I finally decided to buy cbr250r.
Went to Krishna Honda here in chandigarh for a test drive and I have to say that this is really a smooth bike.
Main ques I have is that the same dealer is giving me 2011 model cbr250r with abs +insurance for 1,60,000 Rs which I think is a great deal but the only problem is that its silver color. I am in love with the black CBR.

What do you guys think about this deal

If I were you, I would simply buy what I like rather than thinking of saving few thousands today for a simple reason, I've to spend the rest of my life with the color that I don't like. In addition, it might become difficult to procure Silver color due to less popularity & sales in the future.

Imagine if in future u have to replace any fairing part, Do u think that silver color fairing parts will be easily available? Imaggine your svc asking you to replace it with some other color as silver is no longer in production and is not available.

Another solution is that you buy this silver one and replace all silver parts with red or black or create your own color scheme..

I feel something fishy with this 2011 model. No dealer offers a new bike for 30k less. And why is this 2011 bike still staying in 2012,particularly keeping in view of the good sales of the bike. I feel the bike maybe used for test rides. Please careful and be sure before buying this bike.

                • Hello All,

I am planning to buy a Honda CBR250r Non-ABS bike.
The owner has used the bike for a year and it has covered 13k k.m
                  He is asking for 70k.
Th bike is in good condition.
Should I go for it, is it worth 70k.
Also, its in Pune so any Pune guys if you can help me, it will be a great help.

                  Thanks & Regards

There is nothing you can do but pay them 10k and get it replaced. It has been mentioned in this thread a long time ago that everyone needs to be careful with the ignition lock set because it is very expensive to replace. You unfortunately seem to be the first victim

                    • CBR 250 R offroad

                      Hello All
                      Update:-
yesterday me and my friends decided to visit one of the ghats here.
we searched on net which showed decent roads.
but once we were past the villages there were no roads only gravel/slush/grass etc. it was a grusome on my bike I had given up and wanted to come back but whenever we asked for directions the villagers said its good road ahead (their defination of good roads are different) so we continued and did the horror. By the time we came back we had done 230km of riding in total with 120km offroad.
the bike was awesome but its not meant for such roads.
                      to my surprise:
                      1) no radiator fin bends. despite riding on loose gravel
                      2) not much heating as i depended on engine braking on loose gravel both downhill and uphill. temp upto 3 bars.
                      3) conti tyres didnt bother much except in slush not an offroad tyre but still.
4)clutch wear out due to engine braking.
                      5) no loose parts even after torture track testing.
6)chain not loose or any problems.need to get it lubed though.
EDIT 7) cone set loose (dont know the damage yet update the info after servicing)
A ladakh veteran (An army officer later told me that road was comparable to spiti-lahaul as he has done that stretch 4 times - he was with us on ride)

I think Honda has improved upon its quality in leaps and bounds.
all in all am super happy with sore butt and joints.

                      cheers.

Guys...I guess you guys shouldn't even discuss this anymore for the following testament...

CBR was ridden for atleast 45+ degree Celsius for over 3+ hours (except for one fuel break & water break); that was also the day when it was rode for 1391 Kms & yet the temp bar stayed at 3
