Thx for the update Raj. Looking forward.
About the burning smell guys it could be due to some insignificant reason such as the heating up of rubber piping thats attached from the engine to the carb or the rubber top cover coming in contact with heated engine parts. There hasnt been a problem from it, just burning smell till the new parts get some wear. Dont think one should worry too much unless the smell obscenely strong.
Cheers all.

smoke out of the radiator is certainly an issue.. does the temp bar shows normal or running on high.. if the temp shows normal then the radiator is working fine.. maybe the hose rubber pipe is catching up with some heat..
also get the coolant level checked if needed. get the radiator flushed and cleaned and hose pipe inspected and fresh coolant added. also check if any external object ( expected plastic) is stuck in and around the engine bay..
do not run the bike if the radiator is smoking.. its a safety hazard.. hope you aint parking it near some hot bike.. she might be jealous and started to smoke.. just kiddin man.. get it checked asap.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

What do you mean by Additional? Did they charge you for the oil filter when you paid the bill the first time?Originally posted by GT007 View PostGuys,
I had to buy the oil filter from their spares shop for additional 284 INR and give it to the mechanic.
All in all very pathetic and irresponsible of these guys to treat our bikes like this. Very disappointed with honda ASC!!!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Are you sure it was smoke or did you see steam? What colour was the smoke anyway? Was it raining at that moment or did you ever ride over a puddle/waterstream before you noticed it?Originally posted by adibombay View PostMy bike is 1 year old now. True. I was expecting this , that why i gave them clear instructions and reminded them twice what all to do. Yet that joker pulls out this shocker! I m better off servicing my bike at home ( if only i could learnOriginally posted by Binoy View PostMost of the ASC's are like this bro. Not only the case of Honda. One of the Yamaha ASC in Kerala had serviced a new Fazer(old model) and forgot to fill new engine oil where they drained the old engine oil
and gave it to the customer. Customer rode the bike for few kms and found some roughness and some burnt smell from the engine side. when checked he found the oil dipstick cap is missing.
. This was told by my friend who where in the SVC at that time. Look how ignorant are these idiots
.
I suggest you to take to another ASC by talking to other cbr owners from your place and handle these guys smoothly
. Don't rush them you will get little help from that

Sir , I was fooled by the customer sales representative's sweet talk and priority delivery as i was short on time.Originally posted by icemang View PostYou had asked me for a Honda ASC whom I could recommend to a fellow CBR owner and I had suggested Rohan Honda at Pimpri. You know my antecedents and so would also know that I would not recommend this ASC to any CBR owner without plausible, experiential grounds on which to do so. So, why blame Honda per se? Not all ASCs are good but then, neither are all bad. I have given my bike to Rohan in Pune and Dharti in Rajkot. Both were pretty good at their job.
I am sanguine that your experience at Rohan would have been definitely better than that at B U Bhandari.
Better luck next time

Smoke is surely a no-no. First check if its dirt/debris in the carb fins, they burn and smoke up sometimes
Had a small piece of rubber stuck to my bullet exhaust pipe and boy did it give me heartache for a while. Just couldn't figure it out, proplem is their residue keeps burning even if the main debris falls off.
Hope its not something serious like a carb/engine oil leak. Take care man, get it figured out asap, especially before major rides.
Cheers

Just came back from ASC.... they checked for the burning thing and mentioned that its because of rainy season. Dust/waste gets accumulated in the front and when we start our bikes, that waste burns up and creates that smell....smoke was due to some water drops present on the radiator.

i assume your bike is new....
had that too.. vanished gradually after 1st service.. or maybe they tightened something.. feels like coming from the rear end.. like plastic vibrating..."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."
