120cm IIRC, but please do confirm as we had looked at lengths of many other motorcycles as well at the time.

DW, it's very easy. Take a tailoring tape, and measure it, it's as simple as that. Or if you want more finer details, take a nylon rope, snake it all the way from the top of the master cylinder to the banjo on the caliper, and measure the length of the rope using a tailor tape. Tough to crunch numbers eh!

Dude, it's not hard to measure it yourself. These little little things can be done by oneself and the numbers can be shared here. It's easy, doesn't cost much energy nor money, plus you learn something new. Try it!

The size we got was for the Non-ABS Variant, if memory is right the CBR and Avenger are both 120cm.

But then it was a while ago, so it would be best to simply measure as already pointed out, and since you already have the motorcycle with you.

EDIT: Just realized that I had typed MM instead of CM, its CM not MM

Guys need your help on this. My CBR's fork is leaking. I am in my hometown and I have to reach Delhi tomorrow morning which is 200 km from here. Here only option is to get it fixed from local shocker maker. Shall I go ahead and get it done here or shall I give it to SVC in Delhi tomorrow?

You can get it repaired at a local workshop, as the process of replacing the seal is as similar as other bikes, so there's nothing complicated. Make sure you replace your fork seals and oil for both the forks instead of replacing the seals on only one, and importantly the fork oil for both the forks.

                Cheers!

I got the leaky fork repaired locally, whenever it happens next I will go for both forks.
Mechanic showed me some black spots on fork pipe(silver coloured) which according to him is a sign that it needs replacement soon. Odo is 61000 km.

That's called fork tube pitting. Pitting would keep grazing against the seal innards and eventually the seal goes bust and it leaks again. Mild spots can be removed, but if it's rusted and you have small indentations or pits then it's time to get the tube replaced. A tube that has pitting or rust spots that leave behind undulations on the tube surface would spoil the seal, no matter how many times we keep replacing the seals. And mind you, the CBR's fork seals are expensive.

If possible, do post a photo of your fork tube.

                        Hi Guys.

I've recently got a pre-owned 2017 Honda CBR 250R STD with 15k on the odo. My choice to go for CBR was due to it's refinement and reliability. I own a 2018 Hornet, so I can vouch for Honda. I also go on long tours twice in a year. The bike needed a rear brake pad replacement as per the previous owner and an oil change. However I gave it for service on the next day for general service and brake pad replacement. Since I was new to the riding style of CBR, I felt I was lugging the engine and along with it the bike also felt jittery on the windshield when around 3 to 3.5k rpms and accelerating. (I shifted at 4.5k rpms mostly which led the next gear in 3.5k rpms) I showed it to the mechanic at JSP Honda Kukatpally, Hyderabad. He said that the bike might have an issue with the head and needs to be checked. I then asked him to check for the Cam chain tensioner but he didn't. He said it might mostly be due to the oil which faded it's lubrication capacity. I asked him to return the bike in it's best condition. The delivery was promised at 6pm on the same day, but then the service manager called me up and said the bike needed clutch plates and steel plate replacement which was the cause for jitteriness. I agreed on it and asked him to proceed with the same. He said the spares were not available and the bike would be delivered next day. However it was postponed to the next day which was yesterday. I was handed over the bike yesterday at 4 pm. I felt the gear shifts abit rough than before while going back to my office. I don't know why. I thought to get it checked but couldn't as I had to be in my office yesterday. The engine was lugging if I shift from first to second gear at around 4k rpm and release the clutch. This wasn't the case from 2-3-4-5-6 and felt better as I shifted gears from around 5k rpm or above. I'd be happy if someone can let me know like a teacher, how to do the rev match while shifting from 1-2. I've gone through several videos but couldn't quiet get it.

I then thought since the clutch cable is new and the clutch plates are also new, the cable would stretch and the plates would take some time to settle and hence didn't take it back to the service center as I felt they would mess the bike up even more than settling the issue. Please let me know if I need a clutch adjustment for the above issue or wait for a few days for the clutch cable to stretch and adjust for itself(If I'm not wrong).

Also, I see that the chain slack is perfect and the chain slider is intact, yet I hear the chain noise on my bike. The chain has a lot of life left in it yet since it's still in the green zone. If lubing the chain solves it, I'll do it but I saw that the chain was lubed in the service center. I feel he just used some oil for that as it was dripping when I parked the bike in my office parking lot.

                          Hello All,

I am coming back with some queries on the oil leaks from the engine head/ exhaust area. I had earlier posted some pictures in the month of December, last year. I was advised to wash and clean the area up and see if it come up again.

I took my time to see if this seems to repeat itself and this is what I see after three months.

                          Please find the pictures attached.

Please advise on what this could mean. Should I be getting the O-Ring replaced?

                          Regards

Seeing the attached pics, there may be any of 2 possible gaskets leaks: 1. Cylinder head cover gasket leak and 2. Head gasket leak (one which sits between head and cylinder). If head cover gasket, it is easy replacing that in comparison to head gasket replacement. Cover gasket would cost you around INR 100 and labor charge would be around INR500. Most probably, it would the point of leak what I assume seeing the pics - oil looks like coming down from top.

Head gasket replacement needs engine to be separated from chassis and it is time-taking procedure. Head gasket cost is INR 347 and labor charge would be around 1000-1200.

                            Hope this helps.
