Agreed that they are the best one around, but since they are under the umbrella of big branded shops, they are charging more. There should be some mechanics who have moved away from these kind of shops and started their own venture.

Looking forward to get to know among them.

Lets wait for more responses on this from others.

I got my new CBR 250R a week ago and only recently noticed that there are many micro scratches on the windshield (I tried taking photos to upload but the camera couldn't capture the scratches). The rest of the bike is in very good condition except for a small scratch on the exhaust muffler caused due to many bikes kept together in the godown. The bike had only done 14 kms when I got it and was the last CBR available in stock with abs.

So will the scratches get covered after the first service if i ask them polish or Teflon coat the bike? And is it normal to have such scratches on a new bike?

Buff it with toothpaste it'll remove mild scratches. I have done it in my hornets meter console.

PREFACE : Jan 2016 I bought used CBR250R Repsol which had 21k on odo.

Today it stands at 49150kms on odo. Soon would be going to hills again on this gentle beast. Have regulary changed oil, earlier it was Shell Ultra, for last 2 times I have moved to Motul 7100 10w40.
During last oil change I guess the mech scrwed the oil filter gasket, due to which always had fw drops of leakage after every ride. Got new gasket day before yesterday.
Also got new clutch cable, probably the second change, stock one got kaput few months back.
Only issue I am facing is the braking, the calipers are not so good , have to source used better ones somehow.
Another things is I am unable to get the Repsol sticker from any of the honda showrooms.

In between had the issue of coolant leak due to broken gasket and pipe, which was sorted from svc.
Also the switch assembly is so pricey that I have to use seprate switch for headlight.
If you have the ABS version, your caliper is by far the best in the business when it comes to the segment. Calipers usually don't go bad, it's the fluid, the brake pad wear and air in line that causes brake feel to over time degrade. Start off by inspect your brake pad material, bleed your system thoroughly, twice if warranted, make sure your caliper is cleaned thoroughly. When was your caliper last overhauled? If not, now is the time to do so. If you have a worn brake pad, replace them, bleed the system twice, clean your caliper by giving it a thorough overhaul, it should be back in business.

The switch assembly is pricey. If you can get the same from local stores, you can get it a cheaper price. Availability might be an issue.

Very minute swirl marks are nothing to worry about. They will be present on some visors. They aren't a hindrance unless looked upon closely. If you look closely, even your body panels will have minute swirl marks, which is normal. You can use toothpaste or plastic polishes, they help. But marks won't disappear completely, nothing to worry about.

Cheers!

you get a caliper rebuild kit (called major/minor kit) or the like.. usually contains the pistons and seals. same goes for the master cylinder..
an overhaul with new internal parts and fluid should be as good as new. and maybe throw in a new brake line too.

It's a decent price. 1.15 is a good price.

When did Honda release NON ABS Repsol bikes ? as long as I know all Repsol editions were ABS only.
In my opinion go for ABS version simple reason is that its 2019 pretty much all bikes around 150 cc will have ABS and if you want to sell bike in future selling a non-ABS will be bit difficult compared to ABS one and obviously the safety is added benefit.

Honda never launched a non-ABS model of the Repsol edition.

Hi Guys! thanks for replying. mohan - Ya I am also not able to make up my mind on this deal. The bike is non-abs also a BS3 model and as you know we already have a BS4. Other brands like JAWA have moved to BS6. From the pic it looked really well maintained and total KM done was around 8500KM only so I got interested. shyam - Are you sure Repsol edition doesn't have a non abs model . Have a look at the pic...I don't see an ABS sensor ring. Doesn't look like aftermarket paint job..and if it is, they have done a really great job.

My apologies. I have just googled it and I see that Honda has relaunched the ABS & nonABS versions of Repsol edition in 2016.
