Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello,
I'm facing an issue since I returned from Dapoli which mostly had horrible roads. The CBR took quite a beating but stood up well during the ride.
It's a peculiar sound of a small marble (brrr) which starts from 4.5K where the sound is mild and then increases when I touch 5.5K RPM.
I didn't have this sound before the ride.
What could be the reason?
It's eating me.
My CBR is 2017 second hand model, with 2400 KM's on the odometer running on Motul 7100 10W40 oil changed just before the ride in question.
Also I'm facing an abrupt engine shut off issue. The earthing modification has been done on my CBR.
Please advise. Before you climb Everest, you have to conquer the mountain inside your head.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
All CBRs have a mild engine tickling sound at that exact RPM you've mentioned, when heated up or after a riding long, which isn't intrusive or notably perceptive unless specifically looked into it. This, perhaps, can be the sound you're describing. Secondly, your abrupt shut off can be due to fueling, some CBRs have this stalling issue rectified by replacing the air filter. Check your air intake so that it isn't choked or anything under the seat that's restricting intake. Make sure you don't use excessive injector cleaners, as they can cause injector missing and stall the engine.Originally posted by ManasN95 View PostHello,

If possible do add in a video, so that we can hear the sound.

The girl said, 'NO!'

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Do they have clause like this? Isn't the warranty given on the bike rather than the owner? If it has been serviced at regular intervals and genuine parts are used, there shouldn't be any problem with the warranty.Originally posted by ManasN95 View PostThanks a lot everyone for answering my earlier queries.
As I'm a second owner of the CBR, the warranty is anyway void, and hence I'm trying different brands on the CBR.
I'm from Mumbai, Dombivli specifically. Does anybody here know a really good two wheeler workshops in and around Mumbai where I can take my bike for servicing from experts?
Would be a big help. The next service is far away like 5 months, but would like to be armed with the information beforehand. Thanks a lot.Regards,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes. It's due to the gearing ratio that doesn't allow the bike to reach its full top speed on the last cog. This is the case with almost all CBR 250Rs out there.Originally posted by Varun Manoranjan View PostHi Guys, while riding I have observed many times that the bike is no where close to red line in 6th gear, atleast 1-2k rpm difference is there. What's the reason? Is it because there not enough high end tourq? In other gears I have reached the red line.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys, I'm encountering a weird noise from near the gearbox. Whenever I shift gears, or, go over some bump, there is some krrrr noise. Earlier I thought it was an exhaust plate. I got it tightened yesterday but the problem still persists.
I've done ~38k kms now.Last edited by Siddhanth Paul; 01-21-2019, 09:01 AM.:D

Re: Honda CBR 250R
How does the oil filter work in the CBR? Does the filter spin in place when engine is running?
I'm asking because the new oil filter I bought has a small dent on the side marked "outside - towards filter cover".
The side facing the engine is perfect, however.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
There's no spinning. The instructions for directions have to do with how the oil is supposed to flow.Originally posted by leech View PostHow does the oil filter work in the CBR? Does the filter spin in place when engine is running?

that is the orientation it is supposed to go in.. by design. there is no spinning.Originally posted by leech View PostHow does the oil filter work in the CBR? Does the filter spin in place when engine is running?

usually the end at the filter cover might have a 'dent' and the filter cover might have a 'bump' and lets say, they 'mate' together.
so put in the way manufacturer intended it to go in (along with any spring/rubber o ring etc..) or it might not seal properly and fail to work properly.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
No, no, I'm not talking about the design of the filter, Im well aware of that, and which direction it goes in. I'm saying there is an actual dent on the outer metal part of the filter, as if someone smashed the filter lightly with a hammer. The metal is bent, and the filter pleats are squished slightly on that side. If viewed from the side, the metal side marked 'outside' doesnt make a perfect circle, the there is a dent.Originally posted by s1d View Postthat is the orientation it is supposed to go in.. by design. there is no spinning.

I should have taken a pic before fitting it, my bad.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It doesn't seem there is a problem from your description. Problem is pleats getting torn from the base metal skeleton or a heavy dent which extends to the 'inner circle' such that the spring can't press the filter squarely and properly.Originally posted by leech View PostNo, no, I'm not talking about the design of the filter, Im well aware of that, and which direction it goes in.
