Hello, sorry for the late reply. Actually I asked the question for one of my friends who has a CBR but isn't on XBHP.

But even I bought a second hand CBR recently. It had just 978 KM's on the odometer 2017 model and I got it for 1.4 lakhs. Steal of a deal. [emoji2]

Considering myself to be very lucky, even more so as I got the MRF Zappers and not the ContiGos.

All the best for your search. Do examine the bike from a CBR mechanic.

Rode without touching any light switches (he even took out the brake light bulb) and left the bike with him.
Found out next day that the RR had conked off. Replaced and all was well. Do take a look there.

In hindsight, I did recall lights becoming weaker as I rode for about 20 mins every evening during my office commute but didn't give it much thought. It was only during a slow moving traffic ride that the leftover power in battery was insufficient to keep the bike going.

Edit: Mine is a 5 yr old, 57k kms run bike. Battery is less than 6 months old. First issue with the RR.
Mine is a 2011 model done almost more than 1 lakh kilometers , my battery is almost 3 years old changed today morning only need to see if that resolves issue but I have to ask this and I'm embarrassed to ask this what is a RR ? in case battery change doesn't work.

RR is Regulator Rectifier. It charges the battery from engine power and is responsible for maintaining optimum juice in battery.

In some cases, magneto may also need to be replaced along with RR.

In case you are doing the repairs at local garage, it's better to buy spares from Honda service centre.

New guy, and Dandamudi, RR is Regulator/Rectifier. The unique name that it has is because, it regulates and rectifies the current it receives from the stator coil that generates the current. New guy, the RR doesn't generate power, it's the alternator or stator as it's called is what produces power. This power is first rectified to DC and then regulated so that the battery isn't overloaded. Too little voltage you undercharge the battery, too much and you reduce the life of the battery. Hence the name RR.

            Hello,

What's the review of Motul Coolant in CBR?

I've heard that the radiator parts are made from aluminium and the silicate in Motul damages the materials in time which leads to coolant leakage in the engine oil which may ultimate lead to engine seizures.

Can anyone please verify this? I'm on OEM coolant and would like to keep the options for different products open.

Also, has anybody have a review for any other coolant? Wurth or Engine Ice?

Let me add my battery troubles here. I left the bike with a cousin for two months with the plea to start the vehicle once a week.

Naturally he forgot and I got the bike back with a problem: the console goes off and then back on every second start. Also the bike wouldnt start without throttle after a brief stop. The battery read 13v on idle, however, the load voltage while starting read 9v. That's the mark of a dead/damaged battery.

So I changed the 2 yr old battery, and put in a new one. The above mentioned problems vanished.

There is a catch, silicates have life, which protect the cooling system, and provide a coating inside the aluminum liners far better than silicate less coolants. The only drawback with silicate based coolant is they have less life say around 1 to 1.5 years of extreme usage, post which the silicate charges go down in the coolant and then oxidation begins inside the system which gums up the system and then leading to high temp and then all the other anomalies. Periodically replacing the coolant every year will mean a system that is clean and without trouble, irrespective of silicate or non-silicate coolant.

Engine ice and Motul Motocool Xpert are good alternatives, or you can use Honda's Blue Bottle Radiator Liquid costing some 250 to 300 bucks for peace of mind.

Guys, during the ride to Dapoli, I observed one thing that if I switch off the bike for 10-12 seconds at a signal, and start again, the bike used to accelerate on it's own till 3-4K RPM and then settle to 1.5K. It used to accelerate without me accelerating. What could be the reason?

I have a second hand CBR250R 2017 version which was run about ~1000 KM's when I got her. Current odometer reading stands at 2300 KM's.

hello, recently I found a cbr250 on olx.

                    Model- Cbr250 standard (BS3)
                    Year- 2017, August
                    Odo-1100km
Seller- 1st owner (as he told me)
                    Asking price-120000.

The thing that is bugging me is that, as much as I remember, bsIII was discontinued in April. How did he buy it in August?

Also the kms run is a bit low. Is something shady going on?

Finally, if everything is ok, how much should I offer? considering that, he also got a Honda Navi if he bought during that period.

                    Please help. Thank you

It might be a case of leftover stock or Demo bike maybe.

There was a case where KTMs (Duke 390 if I'm right) were registered under the name of the showroom before April 2017 and later sold to customer as 2nd hand bikes at a lower price. Could be such a case but the odo reading definitely seems fishy.

Not possible as no BS3 bike could be registered after 1st April 2017. Many dealerships in my place just registered the bikes in the name of the customer on 31st March 2017 and received payment later.

I too recently bought a second hand 2017 CBR250R C-ABS for 1.4L and the bike was just 855 KM's run.

The owner was really genuine and I thoroughly checked the bike before any deal.

Confirm once about the registration date but if the bike is in a good condition, it shouldn't really matter if first hand or second hand as you will wish to keep the bike for long.

But I would suggest you to check the bike properly through a CBR mechanic and not just any mechanic. Try taking a third party alongwith you.

My previous owner even gave me the bike after her third servicing and on a tank-full.

Check the records of service and insurance claims.

With all these checks, it's hard to go wrong. All the best.

Any good FNG for CBRs in north Bangalore? I live in yelahanka and not sure I want to take her to Torq92.
Also, would fitting 100/55 for the headlamps be fine with stock wiring if I change the relay? If not, suggestions for good aux lights and fitters? I don't want to switch to LEDs for the main headlamp.

Hey guys, first of all would like to wish all of you a very happy new year! Been a while since i posted. I know many people are against exhaust modifications, but i just tested this hrc Honda cbr 250 one make endurance exhaust for a couple of weeks, and now back on my stock exhaust for obvious reasons. The following is what i noticed
1)engine pulls as low as 2000 or 3000 rpm without clutch engaged soo my use of the clutch drastically reduced.
2)my use of the horn also reduced [emoji14], the sound of the exhaust isn't obnoxious, in the low to mid range revs, you can be quite silent if on a gentle throttle but top end sounds very sweet but for road use would definitely suggest a db killer. What I've noticed people definitely notice you compared to the stock.
3)top end is as good if not better than the stock surprisingly without a ecu remap
                                4)mid range definitely feels better
5)i know many people would say it will ruin the bike in terms of the engine reliability, which is true without a ecu flash and air filter change soo hence i only tested it and back on stock. My reason for purchasing the exhaust was it was directly from the 250r one make from hrc here in India and as you've noticed a direct fit with a little bit if jugaad.
                                6) Weight saving can definitely be felt, i felt more confident in the corners compared to the stock exhaust as well but i felt the need of slightly improving my braking since I'm on a non abs model.
7)bike funnily felt a lot smoother, this is something i have no explanation for and the rhythm of the revs all changed and felt good

Apart from that as I've mentioned already i reverted back to my stock exhaust because of the lack of the ecu and air filter, maybe test it again when i get both of these and keep two maps one for the endurance exhaust and one for stock to test later with a db killer, my other option is convert the bike into a track bike but much later, for that i have whole list of mods, but not anytime soon.
