Re: Honda CBR 250R
Only at cold start brother and that is for hardly 2 minutes. Looked like IACV was not opening up properly at cold. Carbon deposits, grime etc. can let this happen.Originally posted by leech View Post@arvstreetracer - you had only cold idle problems? Did you have any stalling on fully warmed up engine?-----

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hope everyone is well here with their machines. I have just changed front fork oil and ball bearings last Saturday. And from then I feel that the front suspension is not smooth and its bumpy. What could be the reason? The mechanic opened the front assembly completely and cleaned and poured 300ml of Honda fork oil in each fork and changed the fork oil seal as well. It seems that after the service the handle bar movement has been lot smooth but the suspension smoothness has gone bad.Last edited by hypheni; 05-15-2018, 11:51 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Perhaps the mechanic hasn't bled the forks out of air. When new oil is used, the forks must be pumped to make sure the residual air is bled out, by pumping the forks while pouring oil simultaneously. If this process hasn't been done or not done enough, air locks can cause a stiff fork feel induced jumpiness on the bar. Give it a few days, and brake the front wheels wee bit harder so that the forks get to see some action, and observe if it makes any difference. If you still feel the front end is twitchy, drain the oil, bleed the forks and install new oil. Keep your observations posted.Originally posted by hypheni View PostHope everyone is well here with their machines. I have just changed front fork oil and ball bearings last Saturday. I think the T-bar ball racer is not placed properly or something is wrong. The jerk is coming from below highlighted area.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostPerhaps the mechanic hasn't bled the forks out of air. I'm just worried whether the new bearings will get damaged.

Could be that the cone set wasn't installed properly, or might just require it to be tightened up a wee bit more to eliminate that play.Originally posted by hypheni View PostOkay I just noticed that it's the jerk coming from T-bar. Re: Honda CBR 250R
If the bearings are not seated properly or they are T stem is tightened excessively, the steering action would be grabby and twitchy. The same goes true if it's on the looser side. The entire front end is connected to the T stem, so if you have wheel bearing failure, faulty fork, and faulty bearings all would be sent to the rider via the T stem only. isolate the issue first by diagnosing the T stem and bearings first by checking the smoothness of the steering play left and right, should be smooth and not grabby. Then take it from there, i.e. wheel bearings, air in forks, improper tire pressure, or a worn tire. You can get genuine R&G fork sliders from this website.Originally posted by Varun Manoranjan View PostHi guys, I just took delivery of the 2018 CBR, moved from Benelli TNT25, I am looking for a crash guard/ slider, could you suggest some?
For frame sliders, you can try aliexpress, though I'd suggest you check on websites like Amazon India and the likes, they are great for their price. IIRC, a few of them were sold in Amazon.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Coming from a Benelli this will surely give you a great level of mental peace. Wish you a long and happy ownership. Do post some delivery or similar pictures. You are probably first to post the 2018 model purchase here.Originally posted by Varun Manoranjan View PostHi guys, I just took delivery of the 2018 CBR, moved from Benelli TNT25, I am looking for a crash guard/ slider, could you suggest some?

I have one thing to ask you i.e. gear shifting is still not butter smooth after changing chain-sprocket set. Engine oil is Shell 10w40 and changed 2K back. Chain is cleaned and lubed. Saturday I even insisted the mechanic to remove the gear level and clean and grease it, but still its same. The shifting is smooth only when motorcycle is in motion beyond 3rd gear.Last edited by hypheni; 05-16-2018, 12:44 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Congratulations on your purchase of cbr250r , 2018 model bike looks amazing, I have a 2011 abs version and I am not happy with the spares price , had to buy wiring harness and fuel pump assembly my total cost 13,000+5000 this is insane pricing what are Honda selling that should bear such a huge price , this is totally insane pricing for each part , is the pricing same for other 250cc bikes ?- Truth is stranger than fiction - MC .

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It's must be cheaper than Kawasaki or Benelli. I do not know the exact price of fuel pump of other brands but recently I got to know:Originally posted by octane_fx View PostCongratulations on your purchase of cbr250r , 2018 model bike looks amazing, I have a 2011 abs version and I am not happy with the spares price , had to buy wiring harness and fuel pump assembly my total cost 13,000+5000 this is insane pricing what are Honda selling that should bear such a huge price , this is totally insane pricing for each part , is the pricing same for other 250cc bikes ?
1. A single brake lever for Kawasaki Versys is 4k.
2. Benelli chain-sprocket is 10k+.
Now I am not comparing those with a Honda 250cc but still you can imagine the difference. BTW why did you had to spent on fuel pump and wiring harness? What was the issue? And did you mean complete FI unit as fuel pump?Last edited by hypheni; 05-16-2018, 03:10 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My wiring harness got short circuited and the ecu went kaput , plus my dear friend mechanic broke the fuel exit port by mistake and glued it with feviquick ,when we tried to test start the bike after installing new wiring harness and new ecu there was fuel spraying all over and he behaved as if it broke it self , I paid rs 5000 for wiring harness from Honda showroom,RS 13000 for fuel pump assembly Honda showroom and got an ecu from Delhi for RS 4000 , so far bills have been mounting for a 2011 cbr250r abs that I bought for 60,000 and the odor reads 65,000 , I think I screwed myself, but will fix the bike have no choice ,- Truth is stranger than fiction - MC .

Congratulations for your new bike. Please let us know, why CBR250 ? Isn't it bit outdated? There are other options like KTM, Apache 310, Dominar etc.
