Re: Honda CBR 250R
Honda tag, I dreamed of R3, but it's out of reach at the moment. I run about 15k on AVG a year.., wanted a reliable brand. Learnt huge lesson with benelli in terms of after sale service and parts , so decided I will choose Japanese bikes only.Originally posted by ~wolverine~ View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Fact check, the only reasonable motorcycle in the quarter liter category to own and run is the Bajaj Pulsar 220, anything else be it the Honda CBR250R or the Yamaha FZ25 is expensive to own and run.Originally posted by octane_fx View Postis the pricing same for other 250cc bikes ?Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Congrats you made good choice. CBR 250 can never be outdated in our market and comparing Honda with Bajaj is like apples to oranges.Originally posted by Varun Manoranjan View PostHi guys, I just took delivery of the 2018 CBR, moved from Benelli TNT25, I am looking for a crash guard/ slider, could you suggest some?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Wolverine “peace of mind” is the simplest answer one can give. KTM has vibration which can loose the bikes nuts and bolts apart from numb feel it generates on longer drives. I have seen instances where parts were fallen apart while riding due to loose nuts or bolts. I have radiator damage due to loose bolts in leg guard. Check MSK vlogs for more details. Apache 310 is also a vibrator and cost of maintenance will be higher than CBR250R as per the cost of the spares revealed by dealers. Bajaj is VFM but not perfect and have their share of vibrations and niggles. CBR 250 is one such proven machine across the globe for its versatility and reliability. Those VFR looks ages very well and you may not get baby VFR in your life time. CBR 300 might be good but CBR 250 with VFR looks is a legend period!!! No contest between the siblings. Paying the extra premium for CBR is well worth it over the likes the of pulsar 220 unless you are on a tight budget. CBR 250 is not outdated it is the most relevant and a no nonsense bike in our marketOriginally posted by ~wolverine~ View PostHi Varun,
Congratulations for your new bike. Please let us know, why CBR250 ? Isn't it bit outdated? There are other options like KTM, Apache 310, Dominar etc.

konqueror and the CBR fans thank you for the kind words , I feel better after hearing all praises for the bike, I used it for a month and then due to neglegence on my part there was short circuit that caused wiring harness damage and cpu went kaput , in the whole process my dear mechanic broke the fuel pump exit line which was the highlight, all in all I have bought new wiring harness new fuel pump and a new ecu ,just handed the fuel pump assembly today to mechanic for installation I hope the bike will be up in this week,I paid rs 60,000 for a 2011 abs ,65,000 KMS on odo, plus 13,000 fuel pump,5000 wiring and 4000 for ECM ,I hope it's all going to be worth the bucket load of cash spent on this bike ,- Truth is stranger than fiction - MC .

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sounds like chain sprocket of Benelli is cheaper than RR310(15k)Originally posted by hypheni View PostIt's must be cheaper than Kawasaki or Benelli. I do not know the exact price of fuel pump of other brands but recently I got to know:
1. A single brake lever for Kawasaki Versys is 4k.
2. Benelli chain-sprocket is 10k+.
Now I am not comparing those with a Honda 250cc but still you can imagine the difference. BTW why did you had to spent on fuel pump and wiring harness? What was the issue? And did you mean complete FI unit as fuel pump?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
these companies such as benelli, triumph, kawa all charge a premium on labor just based on their 'brand image'. it isn't rocket science or takes a superhuman effort to replace a chain sprocket or normal services. these charges are exorbitant in a country like India.Originally posted by Varun Manoranjan View PostI had spent 7.5k for benelli chain and sprocket for TNT25, and 2k labour charge to fix that.
A lot of people who buy these bikes probably have deep pockets and don't mind paying those prices, but for those few who can just about afford them bikes and look for a reasonable service experience it is a nightmare financially.. and even worse for those owners who aren't technically wise and get taken for a ride by the service centers (happens at almost every service center these days irrespective of brand.. they just want to replace parts or worse charge you for it and not replace them)
With bajaj/ktm/honda/yam the prices are still very reasonable when it comes to labor & parts. I hope they remain so.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Well I had to post it with heavy heart i.e. separation from my first ever motorcycle. It's not related to upgrading rather its related to relocating. Though I am still not sure whether to sell it off but keeping it in stable as a show piece won't make any sense when I have no fixed plans for future. Coming to the point - What would be a fair price for a 2013 purchased CBR 250R ABS keeping in mind the below factors:
1. ODO is at 27000kms and quite well maintained.
2. New Michelin Radial tyres, chain sprocket, battery and other maintenance done 1000kms back.
3. LED headlight lights(H4 LED), GPS holder fitted.
4. Not very important but still - spare ABS brake pads which has approx 30% of life left.
I am not willing to put the AD on OLX and bargain as the people here at Kolkata want to have best of best in bargained price. Will be looking for a decent buyer with justified price. Anyone interested in Kolkata can PM me or also let me know whether I need to re-post it to any particular thread in xBhp. For now attaching few pictures for visual review.
