Re: Honda CBR 250R

Under 2lakhs segment can you please try to name a single machine with gr8 refinement, reliability, 4 valves, DOHC, ABS, reliable FI system, fairing, High speed stability and sport touring capability?Originally posted by Gokul44 View PostHey guys, I am really interested in buying my second bike cbr250r in 2018. But Spare parts, will it be available for next 4-5 yrs. And services too, heard not the best in Chennai. Really need your pieces of advice. I am so confused right now.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
i agree with a lot of things that konqueror has said in this forum ,
but to my bad luck i ran into issues that landed me with an insane bill so far ,i am not sure about the reliability of the engine, as i have nor used it extensively, i am hoping that the engine will survive for good , i had to replace wiring harness that cost Rs 4500 , a new fuel pump because the fuel nozzle was broken by mechanic accidentally, Rs 13000 , ECU RS 9,999 ,and ignition lock let set since the previous owner had installed a cheap fake one Rs 9500 , to sum it up i am spending over Rs 40,000 for a new ECU , new ful pump , new wiring and new lock ket set with mechanic charges , now for a bike thats run 65,000 i paid Rs 60,000 ABS version , i am not sure how far its value for money once after the bike is with me , this bike hascost me close to a lakh and i agree that one does not replace all these things every day , its a rare unfortunate incident with me , over all i really dont know if CBR250R can match the value for money with a dominar 400 looking back 3-4 years ahead down in future ,
i am looking forward to ride the bike for few years to take the investment out , i must say am unlucky to have run into so may issues ,rest assured i really hope i will find this bike worth the money spent ,

This is the sole reason one should not go for a cheap used bike that is on sale without checking the service history. Honda authorised service centers have service history of a vehicle that you could get before buying a used vehicle. A genuine first owner will gladly agree to getting the history checked.
I think the cost of this bike being 60k shows there is some issues with it. AFAIK you can never a ABS model for less then 85k minimum. That too for the older models. Newer 2016 and above models will be above 1L.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
[QUOTE=octane_fx;1340644]60K is dirt cheap price for a used CBR 250. 85k -90k is minimum price for CBR 250. I don't think one who owns CBR 250 will sell his machine for just 60K KM's unless he messed with the maintenance of the machine. If you maintain CBR 250 properly you should see a minimum of 100k KM's. Please don't waste your hard earned money on cheap stuff quality comes at a price. If you have any possibility just get a new one. if you maintain well you will appreciate it even after a decade of heave use.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View Post

I personally like Yamaha's and my second choice will be Honda but in 250CC category CBR 250 is my choice in our market as FZ25 is no match to CBR 250 be it on tech, safety and looks.Last edited by konqueror; 05-20-2018, 10:39 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys, may be some of you already discussed this point. I going mad by cleaning Cbr post rain. Today, it took more than 2 hours to neatly clean the bike. I have seen Yamaha R15 V2 have full hugger for the rear tire, can we add that to Cbr?. From the front tire too, it's throwing mud on engine and radiator badly. Next 2 months going to be very tough in Bangalore, considering the muddy road. Any work around guys?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Any bike if it hasn't really taken care in initial ownership, it's just gonna give headache. Similar like Cbr, the Honda city ivtec is very reliable car with a superior petrol engine. Me and my friend, both we bought the city on similar time. Due to his rough usage, his mileage was dropping day by day, after 3-4 years ow ownership he sold the city due to heavy maintenance. On other side, my car hardly goes work shop. I definitely can see an improvement in mileage and refinement. Even now, when I am in signal I have to look at the console to understand whether it's on or off.Originally posted by octane_fx View Posti agree with a lot of things that konqueror has said in this forum ,

I have read about alot in earlier days, I would say this one of the best bike even though it's dated. All you need to do is, either buy a new bike or fi d out a neatly maintaind bike. If I need to sell my bike, definitely I cant sell it in a cheaper rate or rather I will keep that bike aside. I have seen very badly maintained bike in Bangalore, specially college guys..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBR 250 is not dated with respect to tech or looks in 250 cc segment of course it is dated with respect to vibration as vibes in the latest technology bikes are liked by many. But I strongly believe that refinement matters more than power once honeymoon period with the bike ends. We cannot live with vibrator in the long term and of course vibrators are not the real mens stuffOriginally posted by yathi View PostAny bike if it hasn't really taken care in initial ownership, it's just gonna give headache. Re: Honda CBR 250R
An owner of a new CBR250 on FB had complained of engine failure at 1,500Kms. The problem is of the Coolant mixing with Engine oil and engine seizure. The engine head Gasket was found to be the culprit..This is a problem unheard of in any CBR250 till date..May be Honda is slipping on it's quality...
The older CBRs are still doing Mile munching without much maintenance, and only where maintenance is bad, there are problems...So question of bad engine in older CBRs rest fully with the owner's poor , or zero awareness about maintenance..When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
NS has rubber hose if i'm not wrong[emoji848] did you mean RS by any chance??Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI'd suggest you try NS200's brake line. The NS's brake lines are longer and not curved, also the banjo bolt diameter remains the same. Considering the 220, the NS would give you more length to play with.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My friend owns a Honda showroom. As per him the headlamp is a direct fit and he is getting one for his CBR this month. He said the assembly costs about 3k which is very reasonable!Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostHi All,
Has anyone tried to swap the LED headlights of 2018 model with the older models ?
If yes any modifications required as nowadays bikes come with AHO.

Mohan
