Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thats the chain slider, will cost you 135INR, generally wears off with time and constant touching of the chain. nothing to worry aboutOriginally posted by pinkesh2703 View PostCan anyone tell me what is this ?
It's just came out from rear mud guard n seems to be connected with chain.
I think it's affecting my chain, chain makes noise of "KHATT" when bike goes to pothole, also when down shifting the gears.
Going to service center tomorrow but need some guidance over this.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes, indeed that's the chain slider that's severed. But, if I look at the picture a little closely, I can see your chain links are very badly rusted and the surface running area has little to no lube at all, plus the shiny marks are wear marks. That's the reason the chain slider took the brunt. A well lubed chain itself would go over the slider and give good lube film for the chain to run over the sliders. If a chain is dry, it's basically a slow chain saw that then reduces the life of the slider. As much as you replace your slider with a new one, if you don't lube your chain, eventually your new slider will wear equally faster as your old one.Originally posted by pinkesh2703 View PostCan anyone tell me what is this ?

Lube your chain, get the slack adjusted properly, lube the slider with a splash of chain lube, so that there is lube always on the slider.
Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

It's better to change the pistons if there are any marks on it and make sure the mechanic greases them.Friends, as you suggested I have given the bike for Caliper overhaul on Monday which costed 400 for servicing and 80 for Brake oil.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostYes, we do have a partially or a fully seized piston. A faulty piston cannot fully retract and cause grabbing of the pads, as you've pointed out, the tightness or stiffness that you faced while moving the bike. Get your calipers removed, replace the piston seal, lubricate the pins, de-rust the bleed nipple bolt. A caliper overhaul is warranted.

Currently I couldn't feel any pad grabs. Also brakes are getting progressive slowly as they are new.
Caliper overhaul worked finally.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Well done. Give it some time, as the pads glaze.. Progressively your brake feel will get better. Usually if there is some grease, residue of the mechanic that's operated on the bike can be in the rotor, so the pads have to eat all those and residue and overall your braking will be back to normal.Originally posted by sstherockz View PostFriends, as you suggested I have given the bike for Caliper overhaul on Monday which costed 400 for servicing and 80 for Brake oil.

Thx a lot bro. Went to SC today n replaced the chain slider. Cleaned n lubed the chain. Bike had a wash.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostYes, indeed that's the chain slider that's severed. Asked SC guy, why did this happen ?
He said, someone might have tried to pull out the chain slider. [emoji1] Of course he had no idea why did it happen. SC is nr by my home n SC guys r nice. So no issues at all.
Chain slider costed me 140 rs n over all bill was 450 with washing bike n cleaning-lubing the chain.
