Re: Honda CBR 250R
Though some owners has suggested you to go for a oil filter change but do remember that Honda recommends to change the filter once in 12K kms i.e. alternate oil change. So if you have changed the oil filter on 1st service which should have been done, you don't need to change the filter now. I also made similar sort of decision on early days of ownership but this forum along with owners manual made me quite matured now. You can save that Rs.310 for oil filter and invest them in some more important things later on.Originally posted by pinkesh2703 View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thank u everyone for ur suggestions.
My query has been solved. I wanted to know whether I have to change some parts in 2nd service. But now it's clear that, those changes r needed in 3rd service.
I will ask the SC guy for break pad, coolant level, break fluid.
Thx for the guidance.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Dont blindly trust the SVC guys when they recommend the parts change. SVC makes a killing on selling spares so make sure the parts actually are worn out before attempting to change. It's better to learn how to check brake pads, coolant and oil levels yourself.Originally posted by pinkesh2703 View PostThank u everyone for ur suggestions.

Another important thing is, check the bike after you take it from the SVC. Check if they have filled new oil, and if any leaks are present.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
This morning I started CBR after a gap of almost two weeks. On first crank it wakened up without any fuss. But after a minute of idling when I opened the throttle it stopped in 1st gear just after about 50 meters. Afterwards it never cranked back with several tries. I tried opening throttle along with self start(the way we crank CBR in case of a flood) but that didn't help. I remember even after a year of gap my bike started within 2-3 cranks, yes that time I recharged the battery prior starting it.
Bike has completed 21K and it's been 4years old now. Should I go and charge the battery for a hope or just change the battery for avoiding any mid-traffic drama? Also any suggestions for CBR batteries?Last edited by hypheni; 08-09-2017, 07:45 PM.

I think it's not the battery that's gone belly up. Once the bike starts, the battery gets charged, and the bike shouldn't stop even if the battery is weak.Originally posted by hypheni View PostThis morning I started CBR after a gap of almost two weeks. Try to get the bike to start again by giving varying degrees of throttle while thumbing the starter. If it does start, keep throttle open for 10-20 seconds at 5000+ rpm.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
If your starter motor spins fine ever after stalling, without any problems, your battery is all fine. If your battery is bust, the motorcycle wouldn't have primed up or cranked up in the first place. Check your battery with a multimeter and check the voltage of the battery the next day, it should stay between 12.5 to 12.7 for a good charged up battery after riding. APBTZ7-L is a 7Ah battery that suits the CBR with its stock battery cage. If your bike doesn't crank, remove the battery terminals, wait for 10 mins, install the lugs and crank, she should fire up.Originally posted by hypheni View PostThis morning I started CBR after a gap of almost two weeks. If your starter is spinning weak, or if you feel the starter isn't spinning fast enough to fire the engine, I guess then it's time to replace your battery. I'd advice you to first diagnose the battery thoroughly before changing the battery. It can be indeed a simple flooding, after all. Sometimes the bike starts up fine, and stalls after a few meters only to start up real late, classic flooding.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello everyone. Just saw a video on YouTube of the new Honda CBR 500R. The bike just blew my mind with the looks. If only Honda India launches this in our country, I will surely buy this.
Sharing the link to the youtube video.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
When the bike started with first crank and shut down after idling I was really not in a mood to accept that the battery was dead. But even after 5-6 attempts with throttle opened I was confused about the flooding, as in the past it hardly took 2-3 throttle+self to clear the flood. This is the first time ever in my 4 years ownership that I had given up with cranking and kept her back home for the day. Will try to crank her again tomorrow with battery terminals re-plugged. One more point which I forgot to mention was bike is in the reserve, i.e. the last bar is blinking, can it cause the issue?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIf your starter motor spins fine ever after stalling, without any problems, your battery is all fine. Re: Honda CBR 250R
I hope you know that if the fuel bar stands at 1 bar it's approx close to 2.4 liters in the tank. If the bar blinks it's even less, which is the red zone category as the fuel pump needs cannot suck in air instead of fuel, causing air lock which is another predicament. Fuel your bike, check your battery, and she should be back on track. Never run the bike total dry as it can fuel pump and the bike won't start, though she'll crank fine.Originally posted by hypheni View PostWhen the bike started with first crank and shut down after idling I was really not in a mood to accept that the battery was dead. Knocking sound from CBR250R
Hello everyone,
I am having this issue of knocking sound from my CB250R. The bike is 2.5 years/15k km old. I have serviced the bike regularly. Past six month I am facing this kncking sound from the engine at startup. It goes on for 5 to 6 minutes or 2-3 km and then vanishes. I showed it to local mechanic since the service center is far away from my place and the sound will vanish till I reach service center. He says the valve "patti" inside the cylinder head is damaged and all 4 No.s should be replaced. He is asking a sum of 15000 INR. Please help me whether he is right or should I show the bike to some other mechanic. Also please help which part replacement is he talking about? Valve "patti" mean valve shim or something else? The sound is this - see the video at 00:56.
Request for help as this noise causing irritation and uncomfortable ride.Last edited by The Monk; 08-10-2017, 06:48 PM.
