First it start with the tik tik sound the main service manager told me that it was an tappet issue and i can ride until next service, meantime i have completed my humpi ride and went to the service center as the sound increased. So upon giving the bike for servicing they have changed the valve and done overhaul on the piston and given back the bike saying it's been rectified and sound should go off by next 500 kms but it doesn't, later they have changed the bike piston set. In KTM bike they cannot rectify old/damaged part, it should be replaced with new one. As all these happen and i lost the faith from KTMs as it's manufactured by Bajaj [emoji19] now they are on the run to ruin Triumph too.

Dhruvesh honda and they are giving me company discount of 25k on non-abs model, i feel they can give me more, it's like i need to bargain more, as TVS Akula (Apache 300) in the corner they should give more discount [emoji6]...

I'd suggest, you to use fresh engine oil if you haven't replaced your engine oil in some time, Shell Advance UX does a good job in that. But, yes all singles vibe at around certain RPM, call it a flat spot, usually at the RPM where the torque curve goes flat.

      Cheers!

Thanks. I've got the bike serviced 2 weeks back. Maybe the stock Honda oil isn't any good. Will change to the Shell one in the next service.

This though has increased my appreciation of KTM engineers. That bike packs a lot into that single.

This problem started when i kept my bike without any usage for 6 months. Done 1000 kms after that now with new oil (oil flush was also done) ,decarbonization of head, air filter, oil filter, tappet clearance is ok told the svc people, throttle body was fully cleaned. When we try to accelerate quickly the rpm increase taking small pause in between at the midrange of the rpm.

Looks like fuel supply is interrupted. Replace fuel filter to see if it resolves your problem.

Anyone can put some light on the below sets of tyre condition? Also what do you think about the tyre age by looking at it.

[MENTION=57101]hypheni[/MENTION] - by my superior powers of deduction I have concluded that your tyres are 4-5 years old, and factory fitted. You've never changed them. [emoji14]

As for the tyre condition, the more capable seniors here would help you out.

By the look of thread the Tyre still have a lot of life left, but it also has some small cracks visible. If you are not experiencing unusual loss of grip or tyre loosing air then my guess is it will last you for more than 3k kms.

If you feel frequent loss of grip and air then change both the tyres.

By the way how many kms you have covered with this set?

                  Ram.

I would say this is what I was expecting from some of you. i.e guessing the tyre age correctly. Yes it's completed 4 years and stock Conti.

It's 4years old and I have clocked 21400kms. Tyres doesn't loose pressure frequently and no single punctures till date. Only issue is sometimes I feel of less traction, either in corner or over gravel.

It can be as Arvind stated a blocked fuel filter or also it can be due to air filter. If there is a block or faulty fuel filter, even the low end could suffer due to improper fueling or a combination of both . There have been cases when the air filter is blocked with foreign objects like cloth or anything large that covers the air intake below the seat, the bike just stalls when opened up in such cases. Just give it a few more kms and see if it happens even during early morning start and also after a few kms ride or after the engine is warmed up.

Your front and rear tire can do another 15k easily with no drama. The TWI indicators are clearly stating that the tires have more than 10k plus left on them. Though, the angle of the photo can be misleading at times, I feel as though your front tire to the left is worn a wee bit more than the right side. But nonetheless, both the tires in fact have quite some decent life over them.

                      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                      THE END

                        Posting a general query here.

A lot of cbr owners are running their bike without air filter cover in order to experience better intake sound.

Even i have also used my bike without that cover for a month or so. And trust me it sounds satisfactory in mid range.

But i would like to know if any of you guys have faced any negative effect of this?

Obviously the filter will catch more dust comparatively and hence lower life but are there any other ill effects?

There's a query regarding this on international forums too. But no concrete evidence of any harm in doing this.

Did you got the baby CBR or just a general query? Anyways its safe to keep RPM below 6K and ride within 70kmph. But occasional RPM burst won't harm it, here burst means NO redline.

70kmph and 6000rpm doesnt go hand in hand in cbr. Cbr reaches around 90kmph at 6000rpm in 6th gear

More dust, more engine problems, less engine life = screwed bike in few years.
