Mine was from the Sep/Oct 2011 lot. Only problems are paint chipping off the engine and that odd vibration from the console which only partially disappeared last time i went to the ASC and they refitted the whole body and console. Must go back sometime.Originally posted by aargee View PostGood question; may be a purchase date after certain period, say like post Sep/Oct 2011
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

This is correct to certain extent, but sometimes even if you have bought after Sep 2011, it might belong to first lot. Say for example, Silver colored CBR purchased in Sep 2011 might be from first lot.Originally posted by aargee View PostGood question; may be a purchase date after certain period, say like post Sep/Oct 2011

I too am getting tht vibration from the console area. What has to be done to fix it? I'l visit the service centre in somedays. Did they charge you for fixing it?Originally posted by Nithesh View PostMine was from the Sep/Oct 2011 lot. After a long trial & error, I found this in one of the pic that I took in US from a CBR 250R; there's no such sticker on my CBR, but, is it available or WAS present in anyone of your's CBR? The top right corner shows the month & year of manufacture

I got mine in December. It s a Black Baybee, not sure if it is from the 1st lot or not. Here comes the problems part:Offlate, I've been wondering what're the issues experienced by owner's other than the first lot? Anyone from the non first lot pls?
- The rattling sound at 5.5k rpm -> started at around 1.5k on the odo
- The shims are gone for a toss -> 3.5k on the ODO
- Recently noticed -> When I decelerate, I get some striking feeling from the footpegs, especially the right one. It is not footpeg vibration, is is more like placing your foot on metal rod, while sme1 is beating it with a hammer like thing.
- Scratching noise from the front disc, even when just pushing the bike. Many ABS users have got this issue and we have sent an e-mail to Honda (no response, ofcourse
)
I left my baybee @ the ASC yesterday and asked them to fix the problem or keep the bike with them
Edit: I do not have this sticker

Go-cool - Short, crisp, detailed report. Brilliant & Tks for sharing.
While we have this question going, here's another one regarding SHIMs
Mine has lasted for nearly 15K on ODO before a SHIM change, while one of my friend is due to change at 8K & now Go-cool your's at 3.5K. Trying to understand if its the riding style or genuine issue with SHIM.
My friend is quite an aggressive rider; he doesn't increase the speed gradually though. While I too ride quite fast, but, follow & believe in the gradually increase in speeds. If you've changed your SHIMs less than 6K intervals & yet follow the gradual increase in speeds, pls do report. Tks.Last edited by aargee; 03-06-2012, 10:03 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

You are welcome RG..
About driving style, I cannot be a judge of myself
To be honest, I perform slow twist-o-wrist, except when overtaking.
Atleast 3k of my 3.5k ODO was on 4 lane highways, where I did not have any need to keep pushing her..I generally cruise at 100-110 K, my shifts come in @ before 7k rpm and never touched the redline. Only weekend rides.
I doubted it was a SHIM issue because the engine sound got weirder day by day. Had a group ride this weekend and CBR veterans confirmed that it was a SHIM mess up and needed urgent attention. My ride was the worst sounding in the group
Hope this helps bud..
