1. Cleaner and pre-compressed air would help in better combustion in the chamber.Originally posted by aargee View Post

Lol!!! And prove what?
2. Under Standard test conditions (USTC - sorry).
3. So it would be obvious that the return speed wil be lower.
4. And prove that despite the VFR pedigree it still has some
remnantsof the CBR name.

Rick.konstantin - I'm going to hold my replies until you understand the flow of the last few post on the conversation of the speeds; USTC & other things are no way being discussed & even if it does, I leave it to you as how the other 250cc's do under the same conditions.Last edited by aargee; 03-05-2012, 09:28 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

hey guys ...... i need some help regarding the horn and the engine oil of my cbr. i just bought a roots vibromini dualhorn do you think its goin to be too loud and awkward for the bike and will it drain my battery ??? Bout the engine oil i'm using honda's 10w30 synthetic it's pretty cheap <800 rs> but the same thing from elf and castrol cost twice as much. why is it so and will i get better performance and less engine noise if i use it ??

You've bought it with an intention to fit, now why shy awayOriginally posted by mynha View Postdo you think its goin to be too loud and awkward for the bike
You call 800 cheap??? FYI, a litre costs only around Rs 550 or soOriginally posted by mynha View Posti'm using honda's 10w30 synthetic it's pretty cheap <800 rs>
You've to use it to test; I heard Motul 10W40 FS is better though; may be its expensive in your booksOriginally posted by mynha View Postwill i get better performance and less engine noise if i use it ??

I am completly am bonkers with the versatility of this bike and plan to eventually try and get as much as tweaking as possible.... currently am following Joel's escapade ...
what are your thoughts on a fully synthetic 10w50.... i am presuming it will ge gr8 on the track?!?

50 is thicker grade & it should have a good restrictionOriginally posted by rick.konstantin View Postwhat are your thoughts on a fully synthetic 10w50.... i am presuming it will ge gr8 on the track?!?

@aargee the one i've is grey color and they said it's mineral
i donno why they lied man and oil filter is really over priced here :\ 4500 tk is really too much but i've no other option but to buy so i'll buy oil filter tomorrow so there's no problem for use to use 20w40 grade on our cbr ? I was worried that this might destroy bike's engine i'll buy 20w40 synthetic oil tomorrow cuz synthetic oil is available here is only 20w40 and guys thx for all valuable information
The Power of Kawasaki Ninja 250r is with me

Looks like I haven't explained well; I meant, the restriction is on the vehicle's performance. 10W30 FS will be fine, it doesn't get thinner causing engine issues...atleast till now. With the forthcoming Chennai's summer, I'll have to check & keep posted.Originally posted by rick.konstantin View PostYup, I was thinking the same...which does not thin out too soon!
Its is correct; just exactly like what Mr.Kishoremuthu posted.Originally posted by Bipr15 View Postthe one i've is grey color and they said it's mineral
Not at all; only your top end will get some brunt; over a long ride (say over 200+ Kms) the top speeds increases, but no way like 145 or 150Originally posted by Bipr15 View Postso there's no problem for use to use 20w40 grade on our cbr ? I was worried that this might destroy bike's engine
OTOH, why not import Motul lubricants from India?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

But a 10W50 will hold out better than 10W30 in terms of viscosity at higher temperature....
Please correct me if I am wrong....

Your understanding is perfectly fine; but what I mean is 50 would be a overkill; 10W30 is just right for the engine (again, lets witness Chennai's summer); also you'll have to take into account on the oil flow tubes within & how much narrow or broad they're in terms of the flow. Thicker is better, but not always.Originally posted by rick.konstantin View PostPlease correct me if I am wrong....
During my RJ trip, I'd 20W40 running & I wasn't able to get past 137 at any point in time; also when I did a pre run from Chennai-Trichy, touching 144 was a thing of achievement with a great pain; but with 10W30 & the same road, 140 is cake walk & I'm damn confident to do it on 5th gear.
Got the point or would you want some more details?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Crystal clear... the hidden fact is that I had won a litre bottle of the 10w50.... on xbhp and it was been lying around... was planning them for my next ride to munnar as soon as the pre summer showers hit..Originally posted by aargee View PostYour understanding is perfectly fine; but what I mean is 50 would be a overkill; 10W30 is just right for the engine (again, lets witness Chennai's summer); also you'll have to take into account on the oil flow tubes within & how much narrow or broad they're in terms of the flow.
