I've the same issue too, but, HMSI says, they'll replace the parts; worst thing is that, I've paint peels even on cylinder walls & they say very cool that they'll replace it too

Don't know how far this will work out, but for sure, HMSI is very well aware of the paint peels, so its quite likely that they'll address it; just a question of how far you push them + time.

If everyone facing this problem report in the same month or week for that matter and if all the ASC contacts HMSI at the same time, maybe HMSI will pay attention? ~WOndering~

      • Just my view on Rear disc pad changing procedure, I got both rear and front disc pads changed couple of weeks back from SVC and they didn't remove the wheel for either of it. I was present there during this.

14000kms this is the maximum i've heard till date. Please share what kind of roads you ride regularly.

I have a problem in my bike, hard downshifting (only downshifting, up shifting is normal). Any ideas what the issue might be.

Aah!!! Forget that!!! It will not happen!!!

I was thinking of riding to Delhi & meet Naresh Rattan in person; call it Dharna if you want, but, I've been thinking about it lately.

Most likely, this is to happen between 2nd & 1st, then reduce the speed to 11Kmph or below & then downshift. I don't experience on other gears though. And hopefully you're using 10W30 FS.

If the person who said you that is skilled then he might be right.

Not bad really. Mine lasted for 6k kms only, with 70% riding in city (bumper to bumper traffic).

Yes, I am using 10W30 FS Honda Throttle for the last 1800 kms and I am facing this hard downshift since last 1100kms.. It happens in all gears, even in 6th to 5th.. The exact problem is, say i downshift from 6th to 5th, first thing, it is hard, then the gear doesn't go back to normal position, what I mean here is if I want to downshift to 4th from 6th, it goes to 5th and then the gear lever moves freely without going to 4th Don't ask me how I shift down to 2nd from 6th, it is very difficult to do that.

I'm no biggie in this, but do you blip while downshifting? That helps a lot. Also, as I was telling you the other day near Axis mall, I too have a harsh downshift, but only in the lower gears; specially 2nd to 1st. And it is an annoying thud. But then, I reckon everyone faces that.

Don't know when, but, will seek company & then ride; it makes more sense to encounter them as a group rather than individual.

Though I'm able to make out something, I didn't understand quite well; I get a picture that you're having hard time shifting down all way from 6 to 2. I'd suggest experimenting with higher & lower speeds & check if there're any changes.

I din't get what you mean by blip.
The problem I am facing right now is there even in higher gears. May be we will meet some time and you can check it personally.

It is not only tough when shifting down from 6 to 2 but also in 6 to 3 or 4 to 2, irrespective of the gear. How many gears I have to come down that much difficult it is. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Oh!!! 1 minute!!! Did I understand you right? Do you actually shift from 6-3 in one go, without releasing the clutch? If you actually do that, then change it; very bad habit. You always follow shift down pattern 6-5-4-3-2 & in doing so, release the clutch & engage it every time. Never engage the clutch & shift down from 6-5-4 in one go.

Thanks for the tutorial. What I understood from this is, it will help keep the PM in power band. I do this sometimes, just that it was fun doing it, didn't knew that there is a reason behind this.

Coming to the point, I am sure blipping the throttle will not make any difference here.
