Appreciate if you can carry out one & post the results here in terms of dynos & charts.
And how much have you clocked on ODO? Remember, your regular warranty expires only after 32K kms.
BTW, how's your service experience at Tripura? Can you share that pls?

well i think you havent read my quiry properly aargee.
i wanted some real world input from owners who have done actual mod jobs. And i dont think you yourself have done that. If dyno test was available here then i wouldnt have asked for inputs from others. Im not lucky like you as where you had booked cbr for 5000/-and ihad to book for 30000/-. Where metropolitan cities like yours have knowledegable mechanics but here we dont have them. Even i was asked by bajaj dealers to bring mechanics from kolkata for servicing by my own expense if i buy ninja 250/650. So you can imagine though i buy powerparts i will not be able to install them. And lastly you should cool down your head and stop thinking that others are questioning your knowledge about bikes.

Whether you have booked a bike for 5k or 30k does not matter, eventually you are going to pay 1.6 lakhs or whatever the amount is, and from RG Sir's post i don't see he had replied to you/anyone rudely. He is always there to help anybody, otherwise he would not have post every minute details about CBR.

No I have not; I don't want to become a dumb ass to void the warranty myself; pls go through owner's manual again, it says 32000 Kms or 2 years after which warranty expires.

                1. If you'd issues with dealer, then sending an email to Honda would've worked. Never mind that now, as you've already bought. Hope they didn't over charge you.
                2. Tooners are there everywhere; what ideally you need is internet. There may or may not be knowledgeable mechanic, but, I rely only on myself after having relied upon mechanics for over decade+. Hard lesson, had to pay, but still, I got a good lesson

Err...why talk about Bajaj products here? Everyone knows PBK has limited outlet & that is why they ask to bring the bike to their showroom. Quite acceptable point, I don't see anything wrong here

BTW, ever heard of performance parts like PCV5, DFC, Baazaz? All those performance mods are available over the internet, quite reliable & 1000's of them are installing by themselves everyday with simple instructions available on the internet. Does that help you on the latter part of your question.

Would like to know what makes you think the above? All I offered was genuine help; tell me one incorrect point/statement or sarcastic comments in this post or above? Care to explain unless you think on the same lines.

Now this my friend is a wrong statement unless you're not a citizen of India & yet living here & calling us Indians!!! Though I haven't visited NE states, have heard lot about people using such terminologies; and this is one of the primary factor to keep me away. People like Bollywood, but not the people coming from there

                • May be you didnt understand what i was trying to ask. Actually what i wanted to tell that is its common to see people of abroad who are now and then doing mods. Even in india people who are buying superbikes are seen using this power parts. Its getting common of riders using powerparts to exract maximum of their bike. So if superbike owners here are doing mods has not any cbr owner try to that and see the results (as power parts are available in india). Why my simple quiry being turned into that i am referring other xbhpians as indian and cosidering myself as foreigner? Like everyone here i am head to foot indian. Jai hind vandemataram

                  • @Nilhawk: Such parts are available in India or can be sourced and people are using them. Its just that they dont come here and post about it
Moreover, the boost in performance with such parts for CBR would be nothing compared to the larger bikes and the cost for that is too high. So anyone thinking logically would rather save that money to invest in a larger bike. Atleast i would. Its been months i want a double bubble screen for my cbr but the cost is just setting me back.
People yet have problems to get their bikes serviced properly even after paying a premium everytime, who would want to take a risk of screwing the bike more. But i have seen people who have done performance mods on the cbr but unfortunately (or fortunately ) they aren't a part of this forum.

@aargee: 1, Not only your knowledge about bikes is increasing day by day, but also your answering skills..
                    i love that..

W.A.R.R.A.N.T.Y is most important factor; we've been discussing to remain safe & not disaster here on the ownership thread. Performance is not discussed just because we don't talk hypothetical, but anything with facts & figures. The actual are not posted as not many have carried out reliable performance improvement; except Gopakumar who has fitted Akro slip-on, but has not dyno'd. But as a worldwide reputable company, Akro claims about 10% increase in performance which is 10% bump in the hp. And the adverse of fitting this is what is discussed on post #8200 which Aman pointed. Have you ever gone through it? You simply discarded saying "calculations". There's more of practicality & calculations involved in it.

                      Because of two simple reasons...
                      1. You don't understand the importance of WARRANTY unless you've clocked more than 32K kms since the launch, which is very good indeed.
                      2. Making unnecessary comments like...
And lastly you should cool down your head and stop thinking that others are questioning your knowledge about bikes
                      AND
Even in india people who are buying superbikes
Even in india i see that people are doing modifications
Why? Are the SBK's propriety of the Western countries?
                      3. That shows you're quite different because, except you no one else that I've seen (including Australians, Philipines & Portugese) talking like this

Last but not the least, all of us have been answering to your questions right from Aman to to Metal_M, but you've been asking & asking, but never responded to any of our queries regarding your service experience at Tripura nor have posted any of your ASC experience in this thread for last over a year. Makes me think, is this a genuine question at all

I will keep it very simple
                        1. After market like Akraprovic increases 10% of total power.
                        So for
                        Cbr 250 10% power = 25*10/100=2.5hp
                        For 1000cc bikes and 600cc(which have around 150hp )
                        10% of power = 150*10/100=15hp
So it is upto you weather it is worth or not .
My point is it make huge difference on 1000cc bikes than in 250cc ones . (aagree please correct me if i am wrong ).
P.S. : I will go for Akro. for just the insane noise of it not for performance.
                        I respect the threat.

Haha thats true. But then i will run at lower rpm and when they are very near by i will use clutch a bit . I guess that will work but then there is lot of time for buying Akro.

                              • Saree guard

Fellow cbr owners, I'm in a bit of a dilemma, should the saree guard stay or go? Most CBR's I've seen (in Chennai) dont use them but when i have a carry bag or something which hangs on the grab hold on the rear, its useful as it protects the bag from hitting the rear wheel! Also please advice on how to remove it at home itself?! Appreciate your help~!
