Re: Honda CBR 250R
You may either go for body change. Or get the body painted and get the new detailing stickers. And then you may go for ceramic for complete paint protection.Originally posted by Foose View PostDetailing issues- scratches on body panels.
Friends, this is regarding a lot of scratches on the body panels of my black n silver CBR.
The previous owner has unknowingly used something like scotch brite- OUCH! ...for cleaning the bike and now it's got a thousand fine scratches all over. It hurts to see that.
I used motomax rubbing compound and it smoothened out a bit. But, there is a hazy formation in the an area where I used the compound.in other areas, the scratches r not fully gone. I want the original glossy scratchless look. I also bought a clear paint aerosol can hoping it would fill in the scratches and further buffing would gloss it.
Some r suggesting ceramic is also in mind.
Kindly help me out guys...

Hey. Don't get me wrong, it is indeed a very good oil. But then just because you like the taste of the medicine, you can't consume them on a daily basis right?Originally posted by Foose View PostShoot!.. Thought I was settled with a good oil.. here we go again.[emoji19]

Ahhh ok but shell petrol plus shell engine oil, is one of smoothest combinations for the bike.Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostShell petrol is not available at my hometown but I do use the next best thing, Speed. Using speed has shown me how smoother the bike rides and it also lasts longer than the normal petrol.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The Shell Rimula R4 can be used continuously for every oil change. it's additives do a lot of good for the engine and has wear resistant additives in them. Some CBR250 owners have clocked more than 10 K , and a ZMR owner had clocked more than 25 K with it...I had clocked 15 K in my ZMA and 14 K in my Lancer Car with R4..so far there is no adverse report .Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostYou don't need to use r4 forever in a constant oil change. Use that for 2-3 oil changes and then back to FS oil. Keep switching. R4 is a cleaning agent and also a diesel oil. So use it like a medicine and not like your drink
Cheers [emoji111]
@psr sir. Do correct me if I am wrong.
For a more specific usage of R4 report , read SHV18's thread in the general biking thread. " The story so far.. My Honda CBR 250R
...His report on R4 in his Ninja 650 is also there in the Super Bike's thread " Something mean...".

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sure, .. I concluded on using this long-term based on some good recommendations. Some folks r using as their regular oil i guess. But, what actually is the limiting factor? Yes it's D oil, but I don't see any negative reviews on long-term usage either. Err.. is it going to create engine problems or that the cbr deserves a better fs oil?Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostHey. Don't get me wrong, it is indeed a very good oil. I think sound is coming from rear disc , it'll disappear after some more kilometers.Originally posted by Gokul44 View PostHey everyone, I recently bought CBR 2018 Model. From the beginning of my ride , starting to hear squeak noise from rear side.
Is it something bad; should I talk with dealer. I'm so tensed, help me out.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I need help of our gurus.
My coolant pump seal had gone bad last year which was causing oil leakage through hole provided below coolant pump.
As was advised by VJ to get those seals replaced I contacted various dealers for that with relevant part numbers.
After months of follow up, finally i got my hands on those seals through a friend in a service centre located 800kms away.
Now i have a dilemma. There are two types of seals - a mechanical and a rubber which prevent mixing of coolant and engine oil.
The rubber one costs merely 12 rs and mechanical one costs 1800 roughly.
Since there is only leakage of engine oil through seep hole but no mixing of coolant and oil i am that sure only one of them has gone bad.
I am not sure about it that which one i should get.
Plz advise me on this.
If someone else has faced this problem in the past his experience will be valuable.
I am attaching the photos for reference
Mechanical seal
Rubber seal
Burn the rubber, they said
it would be fun, they said

pressure wash the rear disc calliper and check the chain slack. clean well and lube it. should be good then."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

In new bikes disc pads are held tightly over the period of time it'll get free.also cleab the disc surface using water and inspect for any dirt, also consult with svc .Originally posted by #bpk View PostI think sound is coming from rear disc , it'll disappear after some more kilometers.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have a new CBR myself and am experiencing those squeaks and noises. But it started only after the first service. It seems to come from the Chain at low speeds.Originally posted by Gokul44 View PostHey everyone, I recently bought CBR 2018 Model. I am not finding the time to take it back to the service center but should do it soon.
I will let you know.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
This is there in my new bike too. If i move the bike with the engine off i could hear some friction kind of sound like the break pads are pressed against the disk (from rear wheel) I am hoping to get it sorted out in the first service.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIn new bikes disc pads are held tightly over the period of time it'll get free.also cleab the disc surface using water and inspect for any dirt, also consult with svc .

Dont worry after 300 kilometres it'll go away. Be tension free.Originally posted by elviento View PostThis is there in my new bike too.
