I've done that & it does; see, the point is little tricky here; wheel spins & I concluded saying, yes the speedo sensor is on wheels; but you see, the front sprocks is connected to wheels, so can deny the fact that sensor is on the front sprocks. Nice way to check is open up, best method is remove the chain & do what you said; if the speedo runs, its the sprocks, otherwise, the wheel.

Anyway, my chain is getting adjusted, so no luck for me to check for another 2K kms

Even simpler. The speedo works while the bike is on a paddock. Which gives me another idea: You can actually redline the bike in 6th gear when it's on a paddock, ehh Ganesh?

From the parts manual extract, it's definitely the front sprock. Anyway, lets open up sometime and see.

Yes but it still doesn't fix the out of focus hi-beam. Have tried.

Then, one option is to fit a HID with projector

        Confused, again..
RG, looks like even if the speedo reading is taken from front sprocket, change in rear tire profile have an effect on speedo reading. Check the below given link.

The link isn't opening here in office. Do you mean the change in tire profile still causes speedo error even if it's calculated from the front sprock?
Or are we talking about change in sprocketing, cuz that is what it seems from the name of the site.

It's very unlikely that you'll get a 2011 model on sale now, is what I reckon.

That website gives you accurate speedo reading for the given tire profile/front&rear sprocket size. You can also see the stock speeds for any bike that you choose.

Someone tried it here & posted the pics; not sure who (can be found though)

Kishore & DS - But IMHO, I can only get a high beam or low beam HID; the other cheap option is to fit a bixenon. This is one place where I love Ninja 250R & R15 or even Fazer for that matter . I'm sure someday we'll do a juggad for twin headlamps for CBR 250R

There's no short cut to get powerful headlamps; simply use twin; sadly that's the truth

I'm fully aware of that website; you guys know what? Surprisingly I was thinking about this for last 2 days & here, now we're discussing this here; I heard somewhere that some ideas strike people at the same time though they're miles apart, not sure though.

Coming to the point, changing to 16-38 gives a good balance of touring vs top speed to CBR, which I'm sure WILL yield to speedo error no matter what tire profile it is. What's important to understand is that, on a conventional motorcycle (hope N250R & R15 don't fall into this), changing a tire profile yields to speedo error, for the very fact the speedo is sensed/attached to rotation of wheels, while, here, its on sprocks. So, as long as the front sprock is 15, the speedo (with the std error) is accurate to the manufacturers spec.

Heard from our fellow member (@DR.Vivek) that CBR 250R's battery and reflector is capable of holding 130/100W with just adding a relay and no changes to wiring or anything else.
Also, read a travelogue of Dr.Arn (RG, hope you know him) and he used 100/90W halogen in his tour without any battery/wiring problems.
So after all this I am planning to go for a 100/90W H4. I don't have any focus issue in high beam.

Correct. Actually DS and me discussed this couple of week back, when we met once.

The stock front sprocket size is 15 or 14? In that website it is given as 14. Is it for the US model?

Yes, I'm aware of Dr Arn; Quite surprising 100/130 withstands; may be the light shouldn't be left ON without the engine running I guess. It might be possible because when I switch both low & high, it actually consumes 115W, but that's only for few seconds. Running for long time on highway on high speeds...guess shouldn't be an issue.

I have 130/100 on my car, may be I can experiment. Let me see what I can do & keep posted the outcome.

14-38 is stock; I've verified with the spare with me 14-38 on it. BTW, US or India, that should all be the same, otherwise, no point calling it Sports Quarter for One World

Not wheelies but i have tried burnouts and the speedo was showing readings of around 40-50kmph.

That was my dilemma upto the last day when i had to pay up when the fresh lot arrived. The saleswoman was "Sir so which color have you decided finally?"
                        Me: "Black"
                        Saleswoman: "Okay Black na?"
                        Me: "No wait... Red"
Saleswoman: "Okay sir.. so Red it is!"
Me: "No wait.. i cant decide"
Saleswoman: "Sir please decide for once, i do not have all day for this"
Me: "Okay.. i think i'l go for Red"
Saleswoman: "So its decided..... Red it is. *sighs in relief*"

Try as hard as you can. It wont budge beyond 3 bars.
If it does, then get the coolant level checked and check if the fan is working.
Even during hard and spirited riding, the temp guage would park itself at 3 bars.

+1; even after clocking 19660 Kms, mine hasn't crossed 3 bars till date with some rigorous rides through Desert, beaches, hills & long highways.
