        • I feel the rider seat bit stiff for my comfort and hence I am thinking to get additional foam in it ... I am not sure if this thing has been discussed before (if so then please provide the post #) ... Can any of you suggest a good place in Mumbai to get it done ... And how much should it cost approx ?

                • Few mods and add-ons to CBR

For CBR bikers who are into touring, few of us at Ahmedabad did some engineering jugad to equip our bikes for dream trips to Leh, Kerala etc...

the short list is as follows
                  1. Carrier-

for saddle bag support- almost similar to the one used by Milind of Banglore CBR group and inspired by the carrier designed by Sudeep- Xenologik for his p220.

Carrier made of boiler pipe, bend according to requirement and welded at parts for reinforcement at load bearing areas. Now the CBR can carry the 45 Ltr saddle bag- Stallion model from Cramster compared to 35 Ltr Colt without fear of bag touching exhaust or tire.

                  some pics below-

                  2.Crash Bobin-

some may call this as frame slider also- but technically its a crash bobbin, another innovative use of locally available stuff to protect the fairing at bothsides. Mounted directly to frame with good support and doesnt burn that big hole like the Yoshimura 2011 Honda CBR250R Chassis Protector Kit..

this one was made considering the Indians wallet in mind...for cost n design details PM me...

                  3.Bean Bag Seat Cover
I guess i don't want to explain the comfort offered by bean bags at home for relaxing..We just wanted to try something similar to our bum burning seats for long trips- so tried this seat cover with strip panels filled with thermocol balls or bean used normally in bean bags.. again another economical option for comfort.. This one i haven't tried the effectiveness- would post soon the comfort level after a 1200km long trip this weekend..

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

Too good!! Seriously impressive! I was looking for similar stuff for saddlebags. How much did the crash bobbins cost?

And looking forward to your update on the seat as well. Does look bum-friendly though, I must add.

After the exhaust burnt my second saddle (Crapster Colt), I'm seriously thinking of making a carrier; what I'd in mind was something like this so simple...

                        • My first experience with my Ceeber

It has been a week since I laid hands on my black babe.. Done approximately 400 kms on the odo till date.. So in these seven days, these are my observations..

Super light clutch, easy gear shift .. I have not pushed the bike or done any sudden opening of the throttle max I took him to 95 kph. Cornering my confidence keeps increasing day by day.. Headlights real bright. I drive an ABS version and find the brakes good. Definite eye turner, every signal I have an uneasy feeling every one is looking at you. Temperature bar always below three..Pillion seat very comfortable, that's what my pillion tells me Suspension is better than my pulsar definitely, it takes muddy uneven roads well but potholes not anything extraordinary.. In traffic I don have any big problem I find it decently flickable and mirrors are awesome. But narrow twisty twisty gaps, big no-no. Sometimes taking it out from small parking lots a pain, as a lot of to and fro needed.

Seating position still I am practicing, tried different things and slowly getting accustomed to. The pain in the right palm many complained, even I am having it but looks like i am solving it by a slight bend of the arms at the elbow. Should be resolved with more practice.

Fuel indicator not that accurate. I kept a small polythene package on my tank and rode for 5 mins. I din find scratches but minor blotches which does not go on wiping. Do we have a tank protector film or something available in the market? I prefer that rather than the tank pads. And is there anything I should check on the bike at this stage to ensure everything is proper. Please share your 2 cents.

In btw, took it to Vandalur for a short spin was scared to death seeing the parking lot, tipped the guy got a secluded spot. Will post pics sometime soon.. Still not registered as loan formalities over today, ll do it most probably tomorrow..

All in all I love the bike

Saw a CBR today at OM Sai, Kandivali. The seat was modded with extra form. It was also extended over the tank a bit to avoid the balls from being squished! Seemed very comfortable to sit on. Didn't get a chance to talk to the owner on where he got it done though!
