Guys i came accross cramsters riding gear. I would like to know how the riding

gear is because the company claims it to be a touring jacket and it comes to

about Rs5950. Is it worth it?

Now my Question is How is it possible that even after riding bike for some good 180-190kms battery lost its charge in just 2 days ..? Mech said that there is absolutely no problem with bikes electronics ..? what could be the possible cause of this ..?
Even once i faced a similar problem at 350km odo reading,..was waiting at a railway crossing with the engine in stop condition but the ignition was on... didn't realise brake light was on as my foot was on the brake,so after 5 min when i tried to start the bike same thing happened as u mentioned but the bike didnt start...some how i pushed the bike for some distance & found a small section where i managed to push start the bike in 3rd`gear & straight away went to a battery shop which was just 1km away..there i managed`to start the bike several times even though, the battery shop guy checked the voltage & confirmed low charge, later i took the bike to ASC & got my battery fully charged & luckily the problem never re-occurred.In your case ask your ASC to give u different battery for a few days & see.

Got the delivery of this beauty yesterday.. It's been 24 hours since I've got it and I'm already in love with it!!
Congrats buddy! Enjoy and ride safe.

Is this a 2012 make or 2011? If 2012 i would like to know from which ASC did you purchase it from?

        • Got my bike back from ASC today after a week (odo reading 3250).
          Total bill-RS 3439
1.Engine oil-RS 448 (1 ltr FS oil was given by me which i got free from ASC during first service).
          2.Steering cone bearings- RS 914.
3.Shim tappet-RS 306 (he showed me 2 inlet valve shims which were replaced so for 2 shims i suppose).
          4.Element oil-RS 240.
          5. Coolant-RS 100.
          vat 251 Total-RS 2259.
          LABOUR CHARGE
          1.CHAIN-RS 150.
          2.RACE KIT REP-RS 650.
          3.SHIM REP- RS 250.
          Service tax-130 Total-1180 Grand Total- RS 3439.

1.Now the bike has become absolutely smooth (believe me what a difference),no knocking or vibration through out the rev range, rode the bike for almost 70KM today after the service.
2.Did not experience any issue of engine shutting off abruptly even in slow moving traffic today.
3.Bike pulled cleanly from 20 KMPH in 3rd gear ,earlier it had to be in 2nd or first gear otherwise the engine would cut-off.(Was just checking).
          4. Noticeable increase in initial pick-up and once on the move the bike has become an absolute delight to ride as compared to earlier.
5.Strange but true ....the exhaust note has changed from hollow to raspy & punchy & am enjoying every bit of it........
6.The head mechanic told me the exhaust clearance was ok and the inlet clearance was found to be 0.21 instead of 0.16 hence he had to change the inlet valve shims.
will test the bike in khandala ghat section as & when possible........

Hi Abhi, u r not alone here. Same thing happened with my ride, it refused to start all of a sudden. I guess I am lucky, it was in my own parking lot

The self check would run fine, headlights are OK, horn OK, indicators and all other electrical stuff worked fine. I could hear the fuel pump coming to life when I turn ON the ignition, but would not start.

A small difference from your case, my self start motor would also crank fine, but the engine was all silent.

The mech came to my place, push start after some attempts and then my baby was @ the ASC for 2 weeks

They found some messup with the battery. Yet to receive the replacement, but the ASC received some 2 batteries as a backup. They were kind enough to fit one of those for me and they also used this 2 week period to order SHIMS and fix that problem as well. Now running good...gonna start another BLR - Coimbatore ride in a few hours!!!

PS: Does the CBR specifically target RTR lovers???

            • Full Black CBR!

Guys today i went to Didar Motors, Anna Salai, Chennai and I was amazed to

see the full black edition of CBR which I suppose is available only in the US and

Europe! I spoke to the showroom head and I was thrilled to hear from him that

they had painted it for one of their customers! One thing for sure it looks

              AWESOME.

Thanks a lot mate! And yeah post was very useful. One thing is that bike tends to heat quite a lot!

Take some TDs back to back for both the bikes. That would give you a fair idea of which bike suits you better.
I own a duke & for daily commuting to office, its giving me ~ 37 kmpl in run in (So the FE might come down after Run In)
On Highways it gives about 45 kmpl (Again in Run In with max speed of 80 kmph). The wind blast after 80 is deterrent which is not the case with CBR
For touring, CBR is better while Duke scores more in streets. That was my opinion when i had to choose between them.
I had other factors counted in which might not be applicable in your case. Hence, go for TDs (not one TD) this weekend.
P.S. - Both the bikes are for exclusively different segments & I wanted to buy both :P

Both are different one is faired the other one is naked .. First decide which one of these would u give preference !

I ll be honest with the F.E of CBR in peak traffic you would get somewhere between 26-30kmpl

If its 50 percent city and 50 percent highway you would get somewhere between 30-37kmpl

If your decision is solely on mileage, then Duke. Duke is lighter and lower displacement engine. Should give you better mileage.
But then again, there are a lot of bikes that does a lot better in mileage department. My thinking is, if you gotta ask, then these bikes are not for you.

Hehe, How I wish . CBR is not too shabby in the traffic though. It needs bit more room than most of the bikes, but give it that, and the baby flies.

Actually i am switching from RE thunderdbird to CBR250R because of reliability issues of AVL engine.

                                I want a reliable machine.
I am not a insane rider but i love riding at safe speeds, i have never had any other make machine but RE.

So i have developed an addition of torquy engine.
                                I generally ride bellow 80.
Dose CBR gives torquey feeling. I think there is only difference of 5 N-m in torque of RE 350 and CBR.
CBR is 23 and TB is 28 N-m.

I just want to enjoy my ride weather i am riding at 40 or 80. Guys i need your comments on the same.
Reliablity issue n that too on AVL engine!!!
im riding my AVL500 Machismo frm 2007 & touchwood still no issues.. same wit my TB..

well bro.. if u need torque go for UCE500.. they pulls like tank..
but in CBR u need to play with gears for torque compaired to bullet 500's
