Remember someone saying this; not sure who or which dealer; have to search. But they're selling, infact they Delhi/NCR region were the first one to offer paddocks for public.

            • ^^^ Unless you intent to get an imported one (which is difficult in the current market), go for the same Conti or Dunlop. They're good.

Did you inquire first in the market or in the forum? Go to the market, find if you can get a Pirelli SPD in 140X70R14, otherwise, be happy with 130X70R17 with a minor speedo error!!!

                      • My thing of Booty will Roar forever

Alright, its been sometime that I've wanted to do the Big post, so here goes:

My initial choice was red then I read about tri-color being introduced and wanted to take a look before committing. After getting a royal runaround for two weeks from various Blr dealers, I finally got to see the tri-color at Sapphire Honda, JP Nagar.

As I posted back in March, I was not impressed with the tri-color, because:

                        a) too many colors!
                        b) in my opinion, the colors make the bike look smaller than either red or black. I feel it has less presence than other colors;
                        c) I was asked to wait for another 10-12 days, which back then was strict no-no.

Though Sapphire Honda offered to deliver a Red bike the next day itself, I decided that my budding friendship with Shankar, owner of Ananda Honda (on Hosur Road near Silk Board) was important enough to go back to them.

On 14th March, I went to the Showroom and completed all formalities. I was promised delivery by 19th, the next Monday.

Then started the Drama! No bike on Monday. Apparently, the Hubli Dealer, who was supposed to send one of their Bikes to Ananda, pulled the plug.

For the next 9 days, my life became a never-to-be-sufficiently-damned and never-to-be-repeated pattern - call up Ananda Honda and scream at poor Hema and Smitha, the CSR and GM of the Showroom respectively each morning, call Shankar in the afternoon. Punctuated by frequent visits to the showroom at all odd hours whenever I could get out of office

I used the time to look for a good riding jacket, gloves, helmet, tank pad etc. Searched the net and settled on DSG jacket, no gloves (I've a problem with those thick riding gloves!), Vega Boolean Helmet and Keiti Tank Pad.

In the background, Shankar was moving heaven and earth to find me a Red Std. Since the Budget, the prices had increased and apparently Shankar could not find a single dealer who was ready to part with a bike @ pre-budget prices. When this was discussed, I of course, flatly refused to pay anything more as I had already completed the payment formalities well (2 days) before the Budget

He found a Red ABS with (I believe) the Coimbatore Dealer, his friend. Magnanimously, I offered to meet Shankar half way if he were to get me the ABS - I didnt want the ABS, but if I could get a Red Bike soon, I said I'm ready to put in another 15 K That one didn't work

Finally, Shankar located a Red Std in Bellary sent one of his employees to collect it. They loaded it on a train and it reached Bangalore on 27th of March! I went and saw the bike that afternoon (you wouldnt believe what I went through to find time for that) and all at once, the fire in my belly turned to sweet sweet music I'm sure each of you are familiar with that moment when you finally come face to face with the ONE thing you've hungered after! Fortunately, despite the inevitable rough handling a train ride entails, the Lady was in Pristine condition - well, barring one minor scratch on the left rear silver piece - which they could exchange out with another Black ABS they had in stock <lucked out>

Morning of 28th. I arranged with the RTO guy from Ananda to get a special #. That's 2.5K, which I thought was pretty reasonable to get a fancy #. Rushed to Planet DSG showroom on top of Orion Motors (opp. Forum, Koramangala). Tara and Mohan helped pick out the DSG jacket which was nice and cost 5.5K. Saw a pair of BTwin bicycle gloves which fit perfectly - 500 bucks. Saw that Black/Red/Transparent Keiti Tank Pad 950 bucks. Total Purchase 6.9 K. Swiped the card, Tara's packing the jacket - and she finds a BIG (I mean BIG) UGLY brown mark on the back of the jacket.

Pretty decent of them, I thought - I may never have noticed it! Mohan goes to rummage in their Stock Room to find another of the same. Come back with an ALPINESTAR Jacket instead. I saw the brand and said, Dude, I'm not prepared to spend THAT kind of money on a jacket, yet. Mohan goes, sir I'm sure you can pony up another 1.5 K? Cuz that's all I'm asking for this - better brand, better protection, better looking, better ventilation all for another 1.5K??? My wallet came zzzzzzzzzipping out

Went straight to FAW Racing, in a small side street in front of Star Bazar Koramangala. Vega Boolean Red. MRP 1750, FAW price - 1600. Good deal

I've attached a few pics of the Bike and accessories. Dunno how to get the pics in here?

And Now, I'm one happy camper If any of you find a Red Ceeber cruising through Blr roads under 5K RPM (for now), with a Big MoFo on it sporting a grin that shines even through the full face helmet, that's me

As luck would have it, got the Bike on Wednesday, had to travel Thursday evening and got back home only late Friday night! Now I know how those guys feel when they have to return to Gulf the day after their wedding

Came home to find my Dude (he's only 8 months old) running a fever - which meant I didnt get to ride that weekend either, what with hospital visits etc. Oh yeah, he's better now, thanks for asking

But still found time to go to the ASC last Saturday evening to fix the number plate, lift the headlight beam a notch and ratchet down the gear lever one slot. I also insisted to remove the splotches of plastic sticking along the wind shield seam - little did I know this entails dismantling the entire HL Assembly!

I'd already stuck the Keito Tank Pad when I went - Shankar saw it and asked me to take a look at original Honda Tank Pad. Its very nice - thick, black, comes in three pieces and costs 500 bucks. Looks a bit like the Pulsar OEM I saw on few. When I said I liked it, Shankar gave me one for free

OK, now the issues. Actually, only one issue. The handlebar grips. My hands are really hurting gripping the thin tube. Any suggestions for a good thick soft foam grip? Since I'm resting my entire substantial weight on the handlebar most of the time, I want to pick up a quality product - didn't feel comfortable putting the regular 50 rupee one available in most accessory shop on my Lady BTW, Sanjay, the Service Manager warned me to be careful while pushing in the grip on the accelerator side too hard, because apparently, the accelerator lock, a small pin inside the RH assembly could break which means changing the entire RH Handlebar assembly. Too much tech info, but I thought I should pass the warning along.

Hey folks, sorry for the long post, but I had a lot to unload offa me chest. Feeling very cathartic right now Thank in advance for your comments/ remarks

I meant 2012 model not just the tri-color ... and also am talking about the quality much better than initial lots thats what the chief mech in one of the ASC here claimed and I also believe so since I dint find any new owners atleast in XBHP recently having any issues with the newer lots!

                            • Guys some questions

Can CBR250R be used for touring with pillion??
Can a female with traditional indian wear sit on the pillion seat comfortably?
In short is the pillion seat comfortable?

I have asked the same thing in R15 2.0 thread and answer was no to all the above question. I am looking for a reliable performance bike but pillion should feel comfy.

                              • I have seen 2 to 3 bikes with one sided pillions in Chennai during peak hours. So its certainly possible, But dont know about the comfort factor!

Less chances on R15 2.0, That I am sure.
