Pls forget if I'd stressed too much on the SMS language; I usually try to help as much as possible with whatever little experience I've; I had a hard time going through your 1st post & couldn't add much as I wasn't sure if I understood anything right.Originally posted by safi View Post
Fully synthetic all the way; don't even think anything lesser than FS. I'd enough using Mineral for the 1st 9-10K kms & the performance was no way satisfactory, be it pickup or top end (which I learned after switching to 10W30).Originally posted by safi View PostLast edited by aargee; 03-28-2012, 10:38 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I have been contemplating to buy a CBR 250 lately, but alas don't like the heavily faired looks. Even though I love the bike engine and response, I am putting on hold only due to its looks. I love and die for naked looks, but honda is not offering anything naked on CBR 250, and when I checked with them they said it will void the warranty If I remove the fairing.
So just wanted to know with you guys, has anyone thought of doing naked for the bike. I came across this blog Modified Honda CBR 250R Naked there are a few naked pics of the bike.
Do anyone has other pics of the bike naked or how it looks? What options do I have?Enjoy every minute of life. Don't waste it. sigpic

I should clarify a few things.Originally posted by aargee View PostWell I get a little hazy here, appreciate if you can clarify.
If this part is found to be culprit how did this part get worn out so soon? If its manufacturing defect, then HMSI has to replace it under warranty; the other reason why this could occur is because of incorrect clearance for which SHIMs not changed at appropriate time is the culprit.
Why did this happen? What's dealer's response to it?
My bike is from the first lot (may 15, 2011 delivery)
Odo reads 11200 as on date, so its not really soon.
About the cam tensioner, Im guessing its just normal wear n tear. I dont really suspect parts defect as it wasnt sudden.
The noise was initially thought to be due to the shim but when we opened her up last week, it was confirmed that the shims were ok (for now) and this part which is supposed to keep the cam chain tight was misbehaving at around 5000rpm.
I have a habit of changing gears and cruising around 5000rpm during city rides, so I figured that may have led to extra wear.
I didnt talk to the dealer about change under warranty as I thought that warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. So no response from them other than to ask me to replace them.

Dude, i think you are hearing Piston's noise when pulling from lower RPM, if still confused, put it on paddock, record the sound and post.Originally posted by safi View PostI am not talking about lugging the engine...
What m saying is whenever you pull it from bottom, or just normally from 3.5 to 4k rpm it sounds as if some metal thing is hitting inside( like small metal particles)
