  • @Varun - I don'tve saree guard; Colt doesn't touch the tires unless you put too far on the grab rails. If you're still skeptical, mount it between the split seats (like 20-25% on front) at the cost of loosing a little comfort in riding, but for sure, there will be no damages to the saddles or the materials inside.

Need suggestions for saddlebags for our CBRs if anyone has tried any specific models? I inquired about Cramster's saddlebag-Colt and they refused saying it will not fit the CBR as it has mono shock and with the bag not getting the required support it will touch the wheel.

Also, I would like to know if there is an update on the paddock stands (apart from racing ones on performance racing store). Some dealer/ svcs were selling it off the shelf but that is not the case in my city and its not a standard procedure followed by all the dealers countrywide.

BTW, others haven't complained about this though so I guess it had to do with the way I loaded up the bag on the bike.

I suppose you are talking about the paddock stands here. Are they available at Honda SVC/Dealerships or some other private retailer?

        • Thanks aargee and darkknight.. that sounds good. I will put back my saree guard just to be safe and for the other side will use some desi jugad.

here you go -- you don't require the saree guard

a flat piece of aluminium (from the grill wallas) cut the right length.

bend it at one end to align with number plate nut -- drill a right size hole

at the other end have a similar sized hole drilled & fit it with washer.

i tried to paint it with spray paint so looks a bit weird after use -- but in its original state looks seamless

done through grill wallas at a total expense of Rs. 200

            • paint peeling

              Guys,

Just noticed, the right side of of engine, slightly above the oil level unit, the black paint is peeling probably because of the heat. Anyone else also facing this issue? Not sure if I want to get the bike disassembled just for that. but still looking for advise

              Thanks

                • replacement kit

                  hi

is this replacement kit applicable for newer batches of CBR as well? mine is Nov 2011. I tried the dealer, he was clueless and kept on pushing me to Service centre and when i checked with service centre, they were too pricey to even talk....i mean replies were " sir, we get so many CBRs every day that we deliver some of them next day post service, sometimes....please tell me what is the part you looking for, or else i can't help....i have lots of work" or please show me the mail from Honda!!!

is this normal behaviour in Pune or is it with every honda customer or is BU Bhandari odd one??
don't take life toooo seriously....u won't come out of it alive...!!

Try giving some 'hard talk'. If it doesn't help then you always have your middle finger at your disposal use it and visit another svc/dealer.

regarding the replacement kit.. its basically to replace the faulty nuts/bolts which are apparently present in the first batch of bikes. Since yours is maybe just a month old I dont see a reason why you should get them changed unless you can see they are getting rusted.

                          • Just finished the second service of my CBR. I got the replacement kit sent by Honda. They replaced the rear Grab rails, Timing chain engine screw, Foot rest holder screws and Pins, Clip on holding screws (The below ones), Mirror screws and also added a Cap for the screws. Looks neat.
I had a vibration in the speedo meter (the front glass), which they are going to replace free of cost.
