Yes. And yes. I feel a lot of friction in the engine when in nasik even after ride of over 20kms or whatever and this is constant and consistent. In mumbai, the engine feels a lot more smoother, normal friction and thats even if i ride for 5kms here. I too feel there shouldn't be any difference, and so didnt post it till now. But even this time i noticed it significantly. And i have done around 10 to & fro of such trips and after i noticed it, was observing it closely. Not a matter of concern as such, as the bike is perfect in mumbai and pulls evenly everywhere but still, i had this tickling in mind..Originally posted by aargee View Post^^^ MM - Are you saying the engine isn't smooth even after 3 bars on temp guage + a ride of atleast 15-20 Kms? I doubt on that; and I hope you changed the engine oil filter everytime you switched the engine oil.
I changed the oil filter with every oil change except the first (during first service it was changed about a week later as it wasn't available then, and the oil was topped up).
Update: Got the kit replacement today. Went to thane branch of Sai point honda and they had a long list in which my name was first
. Yet, those buggers dint ever care to call me. The grab rails were changed (thank God, they did it.. They were so badly damaged
, i had planned to get them powder coated), the footrest and fairing bolts, and more importantly the mirror bolts were changed. Also a cap has been provided for it, which should had been done long back. Now the mirrors are free and easily adjustable
(previously, i was planning to hire a wrestler to move them from place
). The engine foundation bolts were tightened (dont know if they changed the bushing, but he mentioned something) and the vibrations in handlebar and footrest have gone now. The mirror vibrates, but a lot lesser now.

According to me the its 800ml each. But somehow i dont feel satisfied with their service. I just recently checked the engine oil level in the bike and its in between half and the min mark. Let me know if you are going. I'l joinOriginally posted by MD24 View PostYes Harsh I'm speaking about venetian itself. I'm getting this tappet noise so had been there to replace my shims.
Yup you are indeed right but is this the rate for 1L can or a 800ml can? Because they are charging us for 2 cans. If the can is of 1L then either they have to return us the remaining oil or they should had charged us for 1.5L, don't you think so. They are charging 350 for chain lube, over charging for the engine oil (considering the oil can would be of 1L) & they are charging 150-250 for consumables. Isn't it time we take a stand on this? We being cbr owner, we are already harassed by Honda for non availability of part to top it all these svc guys are over charging us for no reason. As mentioned earlier I've already conveyed it to them & they need a proof to this. So now am waiting to arrange for a bill copy of any other svc.

when i start the bike, i wait for the rpm to settle at 1.5k (at start its at 2k and fluctuating) and then take off but very slow and steady till all the three temp bars are up and then start riding normally.. I follow this everywhere and anytime of the day.Originally posted by aargee View PostHow do you start & take off from idle/in the morning? You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

chain play and oil level
so far its been a smooth ride for me....
have clocked almost 5k kms....havnt faced any hassles yet....
about the chain play:
the thing is, the chain gets loose very soon....
i tend to check it once at least in a week; last time i had tightened it before i went for a trip to shimla a few weeks back [about 180km from my hometown Patiala]. checked again few days after returning, and it was loose again....there is like 3 inches of play in the middle of the chain....is this normal ?
about the oil level:
i was surprised to find my oil level almost hitting the low marker before going for that same trip to shimla i mentioned before.....it had been topped up fully at the time of first service.... anyways i decided to top it up myself with the oil left after the 1st service from the 1L bottle.....it must have gulped down almost 300ml before it reached midway between the full nd low marks.....
i shift gears at around 7k rpm....ride it daily, and do about 110-120kmph daily as well....is the loose chain and oil level problem normal or something i should worry about ? i was planning to get my second service done in around jan but may have to prepone it...

@MM - Moronic idiotic unscrouplous idiots whoever has charged you Rs 100 for lubing the chain!!! Damn idiots!!! It costs about Rs 450 for Motul chain spray & it lasts for atleast 10-15 times if you use it judiciously!!! And consumables is Rs 25 here in Chennai. And if I'm not wrong, they don't VAT on labour; they only VAT on parts.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I am still having handling problems. My right hand hurts a lot all the way till the shoulder. I got my cone set replaced and the they also overhauled the forks (don't know what this is :S) but yet not happy with the fact that my hand pains :S what could be wrong?
@Metal_maniac: you could visit the OM Sai Service centre for your servicing if possible. Now that I have sorta become familiar there, they don't really charge for any chain lubing, tightening the chain or even cleaning the bike. Small things like these are usually done for free which is one of the reasons why I am sticking to this service station for now

!! Aargee, thats not my bill! That is sudeep's bill posted on page 109. I just searched it and quoted as MD24 wanted a bill as proof. Though service centre isnt mentioned, it has the part numbers that confirm its a Honda's bill for proof..
I haven't paid a rupee for chain lubing yet. Its always done free. Though i paid Vihaan honda Rs.100 for cleaning+lubing once as my service bill was already big and dint want to spend one Motul that time. The Rs.450 investment is yet pending for me
@chicmagnet: Thanks for the advice. Servcing is still far for me now as did the 2nd service last month. Yes, making a rapport with the SVC guys helps a lot. Have been getting the chain lubed for free from Saipoint since begining
. Also got the replacement kit fitted (as updated earlier) today.
And about your arm pain, did you check the handlebar alignment?
Harsh, Rs.350 for chain lubing is just too much and too unacceptable. You can get a can of some normal brands for less than that. I recollect the one used by ASC was around Rs.300-325. Or the best, Motul for Rs.450 as Aargee said. If you prefer a chain cleaner too (instead of diesel or wd40), Motul chain clean also costs around Rs.400-450 depending on places. That means, for around Rs.900, you can clean and lube your chain for atleast 10times. Just dont take this. Get it clarified and Call & complain to the regional office in pune if they dont justify.Originally posted by harsh_66328 View Postso what will you call the person who charged us 350rs for the chain lubing

I'd say - Wake up & learn; don't pay the next time; question.Originally posted by harsh_66328 View Postshould i say what would you call us for giving away 350
Riding posture + the way in which the handles are held; I learned from TrustVishwas Ji; so I'd say you learn from him rather than from his studentOriginally posted by chicmagnet View Postwhat could be wrong?
PM him.
My opinion - Talk to your ASC's head of service; he has powers to waive off on your next bill; this is for harsh also.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View PostGet it clarified and Call & complain to the regional office in pune if they dont justify.
This time I bought a chain lube from Reinhold Wuerth to just check how it performs. Costs about Rs 295 for a small can (guess its 300 ml or something); last time when I'd the bike, I'd apprehensions on using it, this time when I've the can, the bike is at ASC!!! Sigh!!!
