      Whaaaaaat???
I was cribbing that the brake pads on my C250R lasted only for 10K & was cursing myself!!! I only wish it were a manufacturing defect!!!

Yet I don't see a sharp braking effect; how about yours? I feel the Gladiator disc setup on my Rx is much superior

      • bike chassis number

        Hi,

        1. I will be going to make the payment for my bike this week. The person at the showroom, City honda, Bangalore, has promised to show me two or three different bikes (red standard) which I can choose from before they send it for registration. Can you please let me know where the bikes chassis number is? Just so that I am sure, they sent the correct bike that I selected. I will also, be printing out the PDI from this forum.

        2. Secondly, do any of you use those sliders/bobs on the side frames in order to have some protection (for the bike) incase it falls? Does anyone know where we could get those in Bangalore. I am a little concerned since the bike only has a side stand.

        Thanks,
        Sun

          • ABS is all starts......

guys last nite,on the way back from a party i was chasing my friends 3 series BEEMER and i must say the bike is rock solid in high speeds ,i mean i was doing 120-130 half the time and the reason im writing this post is coz of the the ABS ,there were times i did maneuver between trucks and other heavy vehicles and the breaks held good too gud.....and yes i was able to tail the bmw till the by pass after which i ate the bust,i opend her upto 159 and he went full throttle 170+......but i am happy with the way my bike performed..wish she could have been more powerful....

Screw your courage to the sticking place.

              1. The Chassis number is on the right side on the steering neck, you would have to move one or two cables to see completely, it would be a long number make sure to get the end numbers. (I chose put my baby's chassis number in the registration file myself, thanks to the dealer).
Check for any issues as per the list circulating already here. Especially for rusts.
2.No idea about frame sliders, not using.

Even i changed at 5750 kms odo reading. Heard from the Mech that the quality of brake pads which came with the bike is very bad and the spares are much better quality.
In fact i got the brake pads changed, had a small fall and left silver fairing had broken, got it replaced. Also got myself a pair of levers just in case. Looks like the spares are coming in time.
But still they do not have the shims

Don't know if this question can be posted here, but still, how many of you have made a written letter via A4 sheet through Indian registered post (not email) to HMSI on all these issues? How many of us can do it? Offlate I've been thinking its a mere waste of time to simply keep cribbing things here rather than doing something constructively.

IMO, Complaining about brakepads would be kind of useless as all they will do is say that there may be something wrong with our riding habbit. I could only give my suggestions to check the quality and so i did to the regional manager. For the coneset issue, the ASC wasn't ready to replace at first, but then after a complain to the regional manager, pune they agreed. So things are working. Sluggishly, but working.

                      • Brake pads! Bigger, Better

My odo is at 7000 now and i got my brake pads changed. Not because they are fading but i got better pads. My mechanic says the pads will last for another 4k kms with ease.

For the benefit of everyone, im posting a pic with both the brake pads side by side. The green one is what i got on my bike now and they are crisp.

After changing to these pads, the hissing sound my front caliper use to make all the time is gone.

@xxbomb : Will post a link once I get access to my pc.

Are you sure it was Nissin since Honda is charging 700 bucks for the bybre!
