Ok maybe you are correct. But from my experience I think its more than a puncture. Actually i misspelled the word "bulge", its like there's a void between outer layer and bottom layer where the outer is like a loose skin which you can see in the pic. anyways i have checked with the Honda dealer and they say its the manufaturing defect itself. They contacted the local Continental dealer and they will come here to check it. If its a puncture then its fineOriginally posted by icemang View PostI just saw your photo. The bulge is not very distinct but one can see where the surface around the hole has risen above the rest of the tyre plane.
Prima facie, it looks like a puncture to me but with a difference. The penetrating object is most likely a large nail which has stayed in the tyre and been repeatedly driven over. The nail may have weakened the surrounding structure leading to a local carcass failure - this causes the "pores" that you say you have seen.
Normally, the tread part of the tyre is the toughest and it is very rare to have carcass failures in this area. Most likely, this IS a really bad puncture. I would not be surprised to find the nail broken at the tread and bouncing around inside the tyre
...
I am using Unicorn's clutch lever on my bike which is a straight fit. As its black, either buff it or use a sand paper to remove the paintOriginally posted by POS View PostGuys

Sorry to high-light & increase the font size, but wanted to have everyone's attention.
I reckon no, to the 1st question. At the cost of being rebuked by all the owners here, I think it's the best commuter you can lay your hands on today. The only let down is the build quality, with yawning gaps, which I hear are being rectified as well.
So the only prick in the posterior remains the unavailability of parts. But then, whoever has been a Honda owner, knows that this is the only chink in the armor and is pretty much chronic. You are not a chemical. So think before you react.

my ceeber is one month old and 1200kms clocked.. i had a crash 5 days back in which left side faring, clutch lever, left handle bar, footrest and both indicators(left) broke and scratched
the amazing part is i 'll get my bike tomorrow after being each and every part replaced
the 5 days time is also due to insurance claim and lack of mechanics (as the svc has only one mechanic trained for cbr)
its very bad that people from different region are having problems and suffering just because of lack of spare parts
but yes i am a happy customer of honda

Koi jugaad laga de mera bhi bhai!! HORN Please?
Has anyone replaced the original horn with the pulsar 220s one(or any others)??
IMO 220s sounds better and more masculine
!
also will it be a direct fit because i think 220 has a double horn whereas CBRs got only one..and will changing the horn void the warranty(dont think so..but just confirming)?

better to report the issue. reason is that this problem worsens quickly. one fine day, you may find the bike unable to retain itself in the current gear (happened with me).Originally posted by Nithesh View PostAhh makes sense. But considering theyre gonna have to open the gearbox do you think i should live with it for now(as it doesnt seem to be happening everyday just random) or should i go ahead and report the issue?
If i leave it as it is will it cause me any bigger problem?
this change will cost you max of about 300 bucks (if the service center guys refuse to acknowledge this is a manufacturing defect). however, the process will take about 5-6 hrs of opening the gearbox, replacing and then reassembling it.
A WORD OF CAUTION: INSIST ON REPLACING THE GEARBOX GASKETS WHEN ITS OPENED ELSE IT STARTS TO LEAK AND IS A HEADACHE TO LIVE WITH.

Me too
Not a single problem, to the matter of fact, i have met a lot of cbr owners in Hyderabad and none of us have a single problem. We have a mixture of bikes which arrived in the first lot and the last lot too
Spares are flowing in, i find it stupid for people whining about spares. C'mon Honda is trying to deliver the rest of the bikes and its too early to expect spares in the market (leaving aside the oil filters) and about the brake pads, for people having completed say around 4k-5k on the odo, heard anything called gear breaking?? I used an Fz16 for 47k kms on the Odo before i sold her off for the CBR and i changed the disk pads twice and the rear break shoe just 1st
I would say you can definitely close your eyes and go for it
You will not be disappointed and get the C-ABS one, would definitely help.
Now, these are strictly MY view and observation

how will you justify the wait time for spares being more than a month & wait time for delivering a brand new bike being 2 or 3 days?...This was the case which happened to me & the dealer helped me out while Honda people were just not acknowledging the issues at all.Originally posted by jacob View PostSpares are flowing in, i find it stupid for people whining about spares. This was the case in sept/oct in bangalore. I hear things are much better now.
Honestly, using gear braking in all the situations is dangerous, counterproductive and not practical.
P.s : i love the CBR. Absolute fun bike!sigpic
