Seriously a lot of bul**** is goin on, every single post is treated like an argument, more or less like an investigation, which when controlled to the bike is good but i dont see this happen...

There are so many new guys who have got the CBR but hardly post im sure coz of the fear of getting put up against the wall for some serious bullcrap.

We need to learn a lot from the Ninja250r Thread

Never the less... Let the mods decide... xPolice... delete this post if you think its unnecessary.. Looks like i got some work for you now

P.S. Im expecting a crowd at me now This is just my opinion and its a free forum

    Cheers!!!
I agree with you totally. I used to post my completely personal opinions and experiences with my CBR on this thread till some time ago. But one member with a huge number of posts to his record, seemed to want to only ask for clarifications and justifications on what I had written. His language and emoticons were highly offensive and I am surprised that the moderators did not take him to task for his foul temperament. Obviously, I thought that replying to him was a waste of time (I learned a long time ago to not argue with a pig: the pig likes it and you get dirty )so I just rested my case. It is a big relief that that person has gone off the thread after he was given an electronic kick-equivalent by another member.

Do post your opinions and experiences but respect others' similar stories too and keep the mood light is what I want to gently advise contributors. Let us be ladies/gentlemen online, like we are in real life.

      • ^thats wierd. All the bangalore dealers are swearing by the fully synth oil. Even the Honda guys personally told me the same, that the engine would perform optimally with the funny synthetic oil 10w30 ONLY.

          • CBR does not have a dip-stick. Only a cap. You can see the engine oil colour and level by keep your bike straight and would know if it needs changing.

Also, Honda recommends use of FS oil and most service centers where FS engine oil is available are putting in FS as well. Many members here have personally clarified from Honda technicians themselves during a CBR meet with the Honda officials in their respective cities/service centers.
I am currently on mineral oil unfortunately though and will change in the third service.

It can be removed with a little bit of elbow grease. Use kerosene (petrol= too reactive, will damage the plastic. || Diesel = too mild, will need all day.) and a toothbrush (hard brushes = might also damage the plastic) to remove the wax/polish stains. Bear in mind that it won't go off quickly, you'll need to spend some time brushing.

                    Hi neel,

Yes I indeed was speaking about dip stick. I didn't knew what it is called..
As regards to the oil cap I'm not sure it there is a dip stick along with it in cbr, cause my 1st service is still not due & have not opened any of the parts yet. But if whatever you say is true then I guess I should not worry cause unicorn's cap is working just fine after the dip stick removal.
                    Kindly confirm.

There is no dip stick in CBR's oil cap... so don't have to worry about it if the current (Unicorn's) oil cap fits fine.. but do keep an eye on it for oil leak or anything of that sort...

Motul cans of chain cleaner and lubricant are available I know for sure at most Yamaha service centers. They are arnd Rs.450/- each and is a must-have, do-it-yourself, accessory. Hope this helps.

                          • The front alloy wheel costs Rs.4090.

Given my bike to the service center who will replace my older bent alloy wheel with a shining new one . The wheel is with them but since I want to replace it under insurance, it will take some time and they said by saturday it should be done!

                              • ^^ No. I am getting the wheel after 4 months of waiting . I thank my stars the damage wasn't extensive and I could continue to use the bike .

But people on the forum are reporting that the spares will be available in abundance from mid-november onwards.
