Thanks there bro, i was pretty much thinking on the same lines. Since he is saying that he has it in stock and if he has den i asked that if i could have a look, check and den pick my machine. So he said no. So i feel staying with Authorised dealer is a safer option in terms of warranty and the product being latest too and not lying in some warehouse since a long time. Thanks again..

He's the biggest) If yes, please do confirm about the warranty. Consult an ASC and ask them if everything is fine. I had seen a bike which was bought from a broker (ABS for Rs.2.4lakhs) in the early days and had lot of problems. The ASC manager told me that some parts of the bike had been replaced or played with. Plus he told me that Honda does not provide warranty for any honda vehicle bought from other than honda showroom. Some money saved may cost much later. I dont mean to scare you or anything but thats what i saw and had told the same to everyone in the CBR launch thread too.
(I stay in Mira road.)
? Got over? Like, what exactly happened? This is the first time i am hearing of fuel empty on CBR.. So want to know what happened and how it behaved. Light blinking? fuel pump noise? Bike stalling? Or fuel injector burn?

My first update - The bike (non ABS) was bought on the 29th Sep. Due to my frequent traveling, the bike has only done 2350km till date.
90% of these have been while commuting to work - also a reason why I bought the CBR. I was earlier spending 2.5hrs on the road, no its an hour and 45min.
I have always topped the tank while re-fuelling and the fuel economy has always (except for the 1st time) hovered around 33-34kmpl. This is mainly due to the fact that 60% of my 70km commute happens in the 6th cog at speeds between 70 and 90km/h.
Only two little changes have been made till date 1) Removal of Saree Guard and 2) Padding of the seat
Issues being faced 1) The nuts of the mirror assembly have already come off once. The mirrors become loose too, needing adjustments every day. and 2) After hard riding, if I shut the throttle while slowing down, the engine dies - this happens atleast once a day on my 70km commute.
That said, at 1.43 lac ex-showroom, the CBR is simply hard to beat as an all-rounder.

Had a bit of an awkward problem today
Stopped the bike in first gear at a local store.
Came back and tried to start her in neutral but the gear wont shift nor would the neutral indicator light come on
The lever was just not moving into any gear.
After about 5 mins of trying, it started in first gear(or was it)
Turned around only to notice that the bike is in a higher gear(even though thats impossible cos i parked it in first and was around my bike for anyone to change the gears) but the fact remained that i just couldnt shift even while the vehicle is moving(lugging)
After i reached home, i finally managed to shift down to first and then back to neutral(and the light now comes on)Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Well offcourse he is senior xbhpianOriginally posted by dreamseller View PostOT: Bunny bhai aap????

but this looks his new ID.
Surely you have some gear issue, but this bike do start in any gear if you press the clutch during ignition. (Correct If I'm wrong)Originally posted by Nithesh View Post, it started in first gear(or was it)
When I move the bike forward/backward by push there is some sound come from the rubber chain slider, Is it normal ? the sound occurs by rubbing the chain with each other (slider).
Any one facing similar issue or is it normal ? kindly confirm.Last edited by Neel08; 12-03-2011, 11:09 AM.

am still confused about your post. i mean i used to get same issue with my RTR-Efi you park your bike in 1st gear then after some time try to shift to N and bloody gear dose'nt move so you apply some...more.....more force to get it to Neutral after 3-4mins you get tired and then you crank up in 1st gear only to realize that you are in 3rd or 4th gear . i think gear went up while you were trying to hard to get it Neutral. Next time some thing happens like this dont try too hard just start you bike in 1st gear and then try to get Neutral with help of little blipping.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostHad a bit of an awkward problem today

2> My Question for the bold part :- Bike was stuck in same gear even when you were riding it ..? and which gear it was ?Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

yes. Cant pinpoint which gear exactly but i remember i had to downshift twice to get to first(so it was in 3rd i guess) and yes the bike was stuck in the same gear when in motion.Originally posted by abhiwar View Post2> My Question for the bold part :- Bike was stuck in same gear even when you were riding it ..? and which gear it was ?
Did some research on this matter and found out that 600cc gixxers have the same problem aswell and it only happens when the bike is HOT!- just as mine was.
Today it was all proper. No such issue faced.
And i think i found the culprit for the vibration i was referring to. Apparently when i gave my bike for first service i reported about the RVM being too tight and that i couldnt adjust it with all my strength.
When i collected the bike next evening i noticed the RVM mirrors were turned inwards like a "( )". I asked them why they left the mirror like this and they said "Sir there were many bikes around so to make space we had to turn it in. But dont worry the mirror is now adjustable"
I shouldve known the screw was loosened way too much.
Two days ago i saw my RVM vibrating and i forgot to check it at home.
Today morning i found out that the screw isnt there anymore. So i went to the ASC to get one and after 30 mins of waiting for someone to talk to, i get told that theyre not in stock.
For now they just placed an order and said "Sir please call next week. We will call you if it arrives"
I ask how long and they said "I just ordered, so maybe 3 days or a week. Call up next friday"
I ask "Do me a favour, just remove one screw from ur display bike for me. That RVM doesnt serve any purpose inside ur showroom anyway" *they laugh*
So this other guy comes in and says "Sir, please try to source it from the Yamaha spares. The R15's RVM screw should match".
I got pissed and said "Sometimes i wonder if one day you will ask me to buy a bike from Yamaha aswell"
Ran over to the Yamaha spares and enquire about the screw, (these people are more lazy than the Honda guys)
I barely finished asking and i get a straight "NO"
I go back to Honda, tell them they have no spares either and then these people take my number to give me a call when it arrives(hopefully)
There is a stock of oil filter now, so i will collect one tomorrow for my next service. Dont want to keep waiting forever
Also the CBR covers have arrived. 425/- bucks. Material not good enough(could easily tear)Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Well bro here the condition is like this as soon as i reach to spare part section of ASC they say "Sir no spare come till now, we will call you when it's arrived." and brake pad which i ordered 30 or mor days back is arrived and they didn't called me... it's like they will not do anything, you have to inquire everyday...Originally posted by Nithesh View Postyes. ... then they said please come with bike and we will try which will fit...
see what a gr8 training they goan through...

Nitesh, some one had put in ZMR RVMS (left and right) on the CBR. I really don't remember who or where I had seen it. I think it was on the Bangalore Facebook CBR group. I am also not sure if it was a direct fit or he had to drill additional holes. But it was working fine for him. You might want to check on those.Originally posted by Nithesh View Postyes. Im thinking.
Use an online petition with all the troubled owner's name and signatures and mail it as an attachment to HMSI.
They can ignore individual owners but as a team, they will have to take us seriously.
Anybody knows to create online petition?
Thanks for the tip. I just rode across the HMC showroom and thought about checking with them.Originally posted by ALLFORBIKES View PostNitesh, some one had put in ZMR RVMS (left and right) on the CBR.
