Re: Honda CBR 250R
That's good to hear. Exides will last 5+ years in colder climates, down south in Chennai, Kerala where the summer temps goes to 40-45*C, battery life reduces significantly.Originally posted by Wilson4willy View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I'm nearing my oil change a per my usage, I noticed the bike is incredibly smooth if you shift between 5-6k rpm, earlier used to shift at 4-5 k rpm , one doubt I was using 10w40 motul , wat is the difference between it and 10w40 Honda throttle oil?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Honda oil is 10w30. So the Motul or Shell has better viscosity in summer with number 40.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostI'm nearing my oil change a per my usage, I noticed the bike is incredibly smooth if you shift between 5-6k rpm, earlier used to shift at 4-5 k rpm , one doubt I was using 10w40 motul , wat is the difference between it and 10w40 Honda throttle oil?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You missed one thing, cranking voltage. This is the main reading which says whether the battery can provide enough power to crank that motor. If I recall it correctly, 10.5V is the threshold. If the voltage is going lower then its time to change the battery right away.Originally posted by leech View PostCheck the voltage. Should be above 12.6v with the engine off, and 14.2v-14.4v with the engine running.
Change the battery every two years. Batteries, in my experience, last 2-3 years only. In colder climates, they can last 4 years with regular bike usage, but down south, in hot and humid conditions, I've gotten only 2-3 years max.
Mine is close to 3.5 years old. Cranking voltage is around 11 V. I would like to get all juice out of that battery, so postponing the battery change. I think another 6 months i might do it
That's a very good life out of the stock battery you have got.Originally posted by Wilson4willy View PostMy CBRs battery is still the stock one i.e exide and I have never charged it, never ever. Bike still starts on a single crank and even though I have left my bike for about 30-45 days quite a few times but with terminals disconnected and it never failed. Still i doubt, exides lasts this long?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Another classic mistake, easily avoided by more experienced riders. The only reason my bike exists today is because I learnt to slow at every signal or intersection, multiple times I've encountered SUVs taking u turns or speeding through intersections without a care.Originally posted by IamAditya View Post
However, if you slow down hard without notice, fast moving cars who don't slow down at intersections may ram you from behind. Hence I always sound horn at the intersection, so the car driver at my back assumes I saw a incoming hazard and slows down himself.
On a sports bike like CBR it's very easy to regain speed after you brake. If you cruise at high revs, you can easily brake hard, then accelerate hard once you cross the hazard zone.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Service query: My friend was charged flat Rs.1000/- labor charge for Engine oil change (Rs.440.88), washer(Rs.1.78), Chain spray(Rs.88.89) and consumables(Rs.44.44). When inquired, we were told that this is the labor charge for the CBR150R and CBR250R, for all other vehicles it is Rs. 350.
Is this the same in all other regions? Or is my friend being super duped?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Labor charge is little more for CBR than other bikes there in Honda (except sbks). Recently, my chain slider got loose and was literally chewed up by front sprocket before I could make to SVC. Chain slider's cost was 130 Rs. and they charged 135 Rs. as a labor charge to fix new one.Originally posted by hatebreeder View PostService query: My friend was charged flat Rs.1000/- labor charge for Engine oil change (Rs.440.88), washer(Rs.1.78), Chain spray(Rs.88.89) and consumables(Rs.44.44). Re: Honda CBR 250R
Here in pune,
Aero wheels honda SVC charges 550 rs, B.U. Bhandari SVC charges 650 rs.
Both have special mechanics for CBR's!!
Another branch of Aero Wheels SVC charges only 400rs, but they don't have special mechanic for CBR's.
Today i visited these 3 SVC's because my bike is due for it's first paid service and I want to buy AMC.
Aero Wheels AMC costs 1000rs in which we get 3 free servings. But sadly their AMC booklet is out of stock😓
B.U.Bhandari SVC not offers AMC for CBR's😓
So tomorrow i am going to do first paid servicing of my bike at Aero Wheels which costs 550rs.Live To Ride✌

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thats too high for general servicing. Here its around 450/-. During chain sproket change/shock oil seal change, they charge maximum 300 extra. Break pads change- no extra charge, though I tip the svc guy with 50/-.Originally posted by hatebreeder View PostService query: My friend was charged flat Rs.1000/- labor charge for Engine oil change (Rs.440.88), washer(Rs.1.78), Chain spray(Rs.88.89) and consumables(Rs.44.44). Re: Honda CBR 250R
I thought so too... I understand extra labor charge for any extra service. But, general basic service should not be 1000rs. Can I contact Honda? Or is this up to the service center? Also, they do have a dedicated CBR person. Only he handles CBRs.Originally posted by sambit View PostThats too high for general servicing. Here its around 450/-.
