  • Re: Honda CBR 250R

Yesterday I got a paddock stand for my CBR. I bought it from a fellow xbhpian. Costed me Rs. 1500. The bike seats on the stand pretty well. Its a good alternative to those costly paddock stand. I have attached the image of the stand. If you are from Pune you can directly meet him and get it.
His xbhp ID is bala13. You can contact him if interested.

I had just learn to ride a motor cycle on my brothers Unicorn. And one of my friend had got his hands on one of the first CBR in the city. It was black color standard variant as at that age we didn't knew anything about ABS and how life saver the ABS can be. It was his CBR which i rode and felt in love with it. The comfort, the power, the looks all made me fall in love with it. I think I have some connecting with Honda two Wheeler's. Up till date all my 2 wheeler's have been Honda. My first 2 wheeler was a 2010 Honda Activa Silver Color std. variant then my brother bought himself a 2011 Honda Unicorn again in silver. As my Activa was fairly new I didn't think much about CBR it was just in my dreams.
Then came my engineering. Yes I am an engineer. My dad decided to buy a new bike for me. The budget which was given was enough to get a 150cc bike. Although i had searched for CBR in used market but the prices for a good bike where between 1.20-1.40 lac. which was way out of budget where as a new CBR250r was upward of 2 lac (The ABS varaint). As I grew I came to know the importance of ABS so had decided which ever vehicle we buy it should be equipped with ABS. At that time I went and bought Honda Trigger thinking that its the same reliable unicorn with some new cloths. But I was wrong. In first year trigger was reliable but later problems kept coming to that point that I stopped using it. I had lost my will to ride a bike. I was even upto selling off my bike.
It was due to my friend who insisted me to ride along with him to lonavala on a fine Sunday. It was that ride that inspired me to get back to riding. So I started to thing and try new solutions on my trigger and made it use worthy.
In the mean time I was checking out CBR 250r in the used market. I was inspired to look out for a used CBR according to me it was not worth to pay 2.21 lac on a 7 year old bike. But as they say love is blind. In the month of March 2017 I went ahead and made an inquiry for a Repsol edition it was priced at 2.28 lac for the ABS variant. No discounts where offered. I came home and decide to book it once I join my job.
Then came the date 30/03/2017. The BSIII ban which literally converted the two wheeler market in India into a vegetable market. Ridiculous discount where offered. A Honda Navi was offered for free on the purchase of a Honda CBR 150r or 250r. This was the time to try to get a new bike for all. I too went ahead too have a look at the dealers. I was firm that what ever may happen I will buy an ABS equipped bike only. One of the dealer a black color ABS variant. And offered me a discount of Rs. 20,000 which brought down the price to 2 lac. This was time of customers had a bargain hard which paid off as I got an offer which i couldn't refuse. I told them that first I'll have a look at the bike and then and then I'll make the payment as promised the showed me the bike. The bike was good so made the payment and got home my dream bike.
I have attached few of the photos which where clicked by me on my phone.
        Thanks you.

        Cheers
        Congratulations!

It's available is all CBR's, at least in all 250. It's positioned such a way that it covers the engine head completely. But not sure of the exact reason for its placement. It is usually holded by a locking mechanism similar to zip tie. So you can try to pull slightly, if it's secure do not worry about it.

                          It's available in cbr150 too.
It covers the engine head and electricals below the fuel tank. I think it is used to protect the electricals from water.

Had a ride to Nandhi hills yesterday. The weather at hill top was awesome. Reached there by 7.30 am. It was drizzling and cool wind along with white clouds.CBR also performed well. Now the Odo reads 2200 which include a trip from Kochi to Bangalore and Kochi to Munnar round trip.

I am planning a ride from Bangalore to Kochi via Ooty tomorrow. Any advice VJ? How is the weather in Ooty now. Don't want to ride through Bangalore-Salem- Coimbatore -Kochi route under the scorching sun! 😓
