Pure, or as they say in TN, "pyoor" engine oil. Doesn't matter which type, because it washes away in heavy rains after a month or so.

When I tried to start her up today morning for the first time, everything went well. Then I left her for idle for a minute and the engine shut down after moving a bit forward. But yes when I tried to fire her up 2-3 times I heard a bang sound from the exhaust (sign of overflowed gas burning I guess) but my question is how come the fuel overflow when the engine is already running fine?

Also strange thing happened today morning while coming to the office. Filled petrol for 500INR, was cruising normally when road tarmac changed and hit that unleveled tarmac and within 100meteres, bike came to halt.
Tried cranking it up, but nothing, just starter motor was cranking up but the bike was not starting up. Even the engine check light was working fine.

Shared the problem then and there with my friends through WhatsApp, that's when Sanjay, from this same forum said, it might be overflow issue. Told me to crank it up again with the throttle open. Started the bike in the 2nd press.

          Pheeww, what a relief!!!
So one thing, is for sure, having good amount of petrol in tank, one has to make sure to go slow over the bumps.
This stalling issue that CBR faces has been reported many and personally have experienced the same , I reckon twice when the engine was during its run in period, once when the engine was running, it just gave a big "bhud" sound at the exhaust and stalled and she came back purring like a kitten, on the move thumbing the starter. Second instance I don't remember that clearly clearly, but she just cranked but never really fired up. Did the de-flooding procedure, voila, she cranks in the second instance. i guess, there is a small error in the way the fuel is mapped or the fueling is just that way, you never know.

But I don't think it's a big problem per se, as during cold starts flooding does happen on any vehicles, be it fuel injection or carb, but the intensity on FI should be almost equal to zero when compared to carburettors. But, as long as the engine fires after the de-flood procedure, I guess there is nothing significantly to be concerned of, unless your bike frequently floods.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Guys, I can see my bike developing some minor scratches on the fuel tank recently. Anyway to prevent it? Is lamination a good option although I want to avoid it. Please guide me on maintaining the shine and looks of the bike

            Thanks

Yeah tough day it is (3rd July 2017). caught up with minor crash. Lorry driver turned right turn without any indication and in panic I gave more pressure on front brakes and as expected Bike skidded. Scratches on Muffler cover, mirror and RH lever bent.
Luckily Forks held up well as the speed was less 25kmph.

that's one thing. SO I couldn't ride properly as the brake lever was completely. I went Honda ASC Navalur (Vijaya honda).
Asked them to change the lever and fit the fairing properly (Fairing clip got some problem with the crash. It was making wierd sounds)

Thanks to GST now I'll have to pay more than what spares cost.
              Brake lever cost 114
              Fairing clip 14

              Labor with Tax - 132
and total amount I paid is 260 Rupees.

Also I checked the spare rate in Indiaspares.com for Muffler cover both A and B. Can I buy from that website and fit it myself?

3M PPFilm can be your cheap way to stop these scratches.

On a costlier choice ceramic coat costs around 6K.

Newer model of this mobile holder comes with extra rubber (again copied from RAM mount) which grips the mobile firmly.

Is this model going to work with CBR ?

Mild scratches and mild superficial swirl marks can be cleared off using good quality carnauba wax and good polishing skills. Secondly, if you have deep scratches where the scratch is deep enough to expose the metal or paint chewed off, then no amount of polishing can bring back the old gloss, you might need a touch up. Or you can use some black sticker decal to creatively cover up the part. Any sticker shop wala might help you with that.

                        Cheers!

                              Hello guys!

I wish to install hazard lights on my bike. Would like to know the procedure involved and the cost as well. Will the stock battery be enough?

Also people from Pune please suggest some good place where i can get detailing done for my bike. The paint on the tank on my bike has lost some of its shine due to use of tankbag.

                              ThankYou.

Get a decent enough switch. Connect live of both indicators with the switch in between. When you turn on the switch and then turn on any indicator both indicators would light up.

Cost would depend from 20 ~ 200 depends depending on switch.
