• Re: Honda CBR 250R

Fitted all in one switch for aux light on/off, aux light pass signal and hazard parking indicator. Swich imported from aliexpress at ₹300.

Along with on/off, auxillary lights are connected to horn wires of switch which works as additional pass signal.
Hazard indicator wires connected to right indicator of switch. Left indicator kept as blank.

Finally got one switch which fits comfortably on short space of CBR handle bar[emoji1]

My CBR has crossed 40k today -

Oil filter and oil changed myself.

        No shim or CCT noise.

Engine oil became brown just 50 kms after changing it.

Chain sprocket still hasn't given up. Chain slack on the tight part is less than .5 inches, and the loosest part is exactly 1.2 inches, the recommended.

Coneset is presumably in good shape, I don't have steering problems.

Console vibes do exist, and are duly ignored.

Paint has come off the grab rails by the fourth year.

No pictures because it's monsoon season, she's covered in dirt. [emoji16]

Initially there was some hiccup as the car jack rod was not available with me. I checked the car and it was missing, then on some video I found that we can use a simple screw driver to replace the rod job, so today did it with a screw driver and trust me I just loved the way it served my purpose. Earlier I used to open the chain guard and did a lot of drama. Finally the days has come for some good lubrication at home.

BTW guys. Any suggestions for monsoon maintenance? Apart from chain and tyre I want to ask about switches, nuts-bolts, ignition lockset and joins. Should I spray WD40 to those parts? As these days my bike stays at a open office parking so I'm a little bit worried about it.

Thanks for the pics. Will wait for the video. I need to get AUX lights too, this helped me with the position.

Also strange thing happened today morning while coming to the office. Filled petrol for 500INR, was cruising normally when road tarmac changed and hit that unleveled tarmac and within 100meteres, bike came to halt.
Tried cranking it up, but nothing, just starter motor was cranking up but the bike was not starting up. Even the engine check light was working fine.

Shared the problem then and there with my friends through WhatsApp, that's when Sanjay, from this same forum said, it might be overflow issue. Told me to crank it up again with the throttle open. Started the bike in the 2nd press.

                  Pheeww, what a relief!!!
So one thing, is for sure, having good amount of petrol in tank, one has to make sure to go slow over the bumps.

Probably this is one of the important point to be considered while riding our machines. Though I'm not sure whether filled tank caused that, let seniors comments.

Just make sure you engage the front brake well with a strap/cable so that the bike doesn't slide to the front by any chance.

prateek2210 - I've faced the flooding issue with half tank, full tank, and nearly empty tank. 3/4 times, my bike got flooded and shutdown on smooth roads.

hypheni - I oil all the bolts, wipe the forks clean with a kerosene dipped cloth, and squirt oil on all switches and key holes. Don't forget to lube the chain if you see rust spots.

You sure about the overflow thing? Any idea why it is happening? The same thing happened to me today as well. The tank was half filled. When I tried to start her up today morning for the first time, everything went well. Then I left her for idle for a minute and the engine shut down after moving a bit forward. But yes when I tried to fire her up 2-3 times I heard a bang sound from the exhaust (sign of overflowed gas burning I guess) but my question is how come the fuel overflow when the engine is already running fine?

Yes, I read about the issue quite some pages back. So will wait for others to pour in their views

The sound also came in my case too. I guess its something related with the fuel sensor getting the fuel supply in excess (or air bubble) while moving the bike.

It's flooding. Nothing to worry about road bump, potholes, full tank, or half tank.

Just follow the manual on what to do in case of flooding.
