Re: Honda CBR 250R
One of my rubber cap was missing while taking delivery. I didn't notice it first. Then while giving it for first service I told them the cap was missing in delivery itself. They fixed it in first service and didn't charge me anything for this. SVC : Muthoot Honda,Kaloor,Kerala.Originally posted by bala13 View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Well without opening the chain guard its really very hard to clean the chain. For lube there is no issues, but for a good clean without paddock IMO chain guard removing is required. I do it by removing the guard and then sliding the bike forward backward.Originally posted by leech View Posthypheni - why do you remove the chain guard each time you lube the chain? Are you using a spray type lube?
+Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostGot my tensioner replaced today. I am from Assam and it costed me (incl. Taxes) 478/-. My odo stands at 3900+ kms. Visit another SVC and get it fixed. They ask for a whole day to check and rectify the error. They got mine fixed in 4 hours.
Attaching the bill.
Could you guys please let me know what this tensioner do and for which problem it has to be changed? I changed it on 12K while bike was in service center after a year long unused condition.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostWell I had my tensioner replaced under warranty at the same interval that is at 4k kms..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
i think it should be ok, asking these monkeys to fix it and they will probably tell you to replace it or worse try some juggad and maybe damage it further.Originally posted by Saurabh_rf View PostThanks a lot man for detailed info. I'm getting used to sitting posture now and brake lever as well. The power on this bike is more than enough for me. I'm loving every km of riding it.
As for fins I have almost 60% of bent fins so gonna take it to svc for detailed inspection. Can you or anyone suggest good service centre in Delhi or noida?
make sure radiator is clean and ride it for a few months. if you notice over heating then go for a fix/replacement.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That thing marked in red is the cam chain tensioner. It has a shaft inside which pushes the plastic tensioner which in turn applies tension on the cam chain.(refer to the image from India spares). When the chain gets loose overtime the shaft(refer image) should push the plastic further to keep the tension as it is but if it fails to do that, the cam chain rattles. The tensioner has a allen bolt in the center if you open that thing, you have a small flat head screw inside which can be used to retract the shaft. It can only be retracted through the screw but it can't be pushed inside from the shaft side. Hope this clears your doubts mate!Originally posted by hypheni View PostCould you guys please let me know what this tensioner do and for which problem it has to be changed? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys I had a small accident at around 10kmph, bike switched off and I fell down, nothing happened to me , nothing much to the bike apart from a bent gear and clutch level , I went to the svc , got it corrected, also I showed my radiator to my mechanic , he said it will need to be changed soon, soo will do that later , suddenly my up n down shifting feels clunky, I'm due for chain service either way but my question is can the gear box be damaged or something else, it was almost like a slow mo standing fall towards the left side, no damage to fairing or anything else luckily .

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Since, you've posted a picture with coolant leakage, it would be imperative that you check your coolant level in the radiator. The coolant level in the reservoir doesn't count as some coolant is always present in the reservoir, which can lead to faulty reading. Secondly, check if the fan is running. If your fan isn't running as it's supposed to, then the temperature bar can light up, and when all six temp bars flash, you should stop the motor ASAP. I highly suspect an empty radiator or a faulty fan. Usually a faulty fan doesn't lead to increase in temperature in the CBR, it's a very robust cooling system. When there is too little to no coolant, the temperature does increase dramatically. Do get it checked and do not run the engine when all six bars are up and flashing.Originally posted by hgps View PostGuys
Today was the first time i noticed temprature more than 3bars on my bike. This happened in traffic where i ride daily. I haven't seen it more than 3 bars even in worst taffics jams. But today i was seeing 4-5 bars even at 30-40kph.
Fan was constantly on. Even when i turned on the ignition after letting it cool down for 20 mins.
Coolant and oil is at optimum level.
What might be the problem? I had posted coolant leakage problem from thermostat cover a few weeks back. Still waiting for parts to arrive. What might be the problem? Faulty thermostat? Temp sensor?
Cheers!

Fan was working fine. I think it was due to low coolant in radiator. Mecjankc topped up but thermostat has still not arrived yet. Re: Honda CBR 250R
So I was supposed to get my bike serviced today and what happened yesterday was something which broke my heart. Gave my bike to friend who wanted to test ride it. I was reluctant at first coz the last time he rode a 2 wheeler was around 10 years back. Still gave him to ride for a short distance and as he was coming back he lost the balance and fell down. The first thing I noticed was injury marks on my bike and thank god there were none except for the brake lever that bent. But!! When I rode it after that I felt the handle to be a little heavier on the left side while turning and I noticed a slightest of tilt of the handle to left hand side which made me go furious on my friend. Went to SVC today and the mechanic told me that you can continue to ride coz the bend is ever so slightly to cause any issue as of now. But if I wanna go for repair they will have to change the handle and the 'T' as well which would cost around 4k. I need your advice guys, should I get it checked with local mechanic or any other SVC for 2nd opinion?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It's very unfortunate. Firstly, it would be a good idea to check your T stem for bend, as in your case if your T stem is really the cause of your problem it would be a wise decision to replace it. When you're riding a motorcycle, especially a committed riding position, you do not want the weight of your body distributed unevenly, as is the case with bent handlebars, wherein your are you are required to put extra effort for maneuvering the motorcycle and all that extra effort is directly weighed upon your arms and shoulders, which in turn can cause pain points, that's one. This 100% negatively affects the joy of riding a motorcycle.Originally posted by Saurabh_rf View PostSo I was supposed to get my bike serviced today and what happened yesterday was something which broke my heart. Secondly a bent T stem usually means the handlebar doesn't want to stay straight, meaning you have to put effort to keep the bar straight which can cause uneven tire wear or cupping as it's called.
Bottomline, CBR parts are comparatively expensive, but it would save you from pain points and would not rob you off the joy or riding. Best of luck.
I suspect you earlier had a faulty thermostat cover which in turn caused the leak, the thermostat cover o-ring to be precise. If the O-ring is faulty and you have slow coolant leakage, eventually you radiator fluid might drop down drastically causing increase in engine temperature. I'd strongly suggest you to look at your radiator coolant level, by opening the radiator cap and inspect it visually. If you don't find any coolant, I'd suggest you to add distilled water at the least to the radiator so that the engine doesn't overheat, for the time being.Originally posted by hgps View PostFan was working fine. Again, do not ride the motorcycle when all six bars on the console are lit up and are flashing, that is potentially a red zone which can cause engine seizure.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
There is a slight bent in the T stem as told by the mechanic but he told me to continue riding till the time it don't cause any problem. I asked if it would wear the tyre to which he said it won't as the T stem is very slightly bent and I can continue to ride it. Any idea how much would it cost to replace it?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIt's very unfortunate. Re: Honda CBR 250R
I am not sure about the exact pricing now. But the T stem should cost close to 3000 rupees and the coneset at around 1200+- if my memory serves me correct. But, in and around labor it should come around 4.5 to 5k...Originally posted by Saurabh_rf View PostThere is a slight bent in the T stem as told by the mechanic but he told me to continue riding till the time it don't cause any problem. Also Handlebar feels heavy... What could be the problem?
My next service is due in next 1000 kms. Should I keep riding with the problem till the next service or I should take the bike for service immediately.
Fixed mine by tightening up the bolt which holds the top triple tree to front shock absorber..
The left side was snug and tight but the right one was lose..
Now i have minimal vibration compared to before..
it was 80% before and now its around 20%.. I hardly notice the vibration now..
