Veteran rider returning to the forum after a long long time!

I was off my bike for 2 and half years and all this time my bike was being (ab)used by my brother and his friends. Now it's back to me and high time to reclaim my ride.

Who's the go-to guy for CBR servicing these days in Bangalore ? Last known to me, it was Kartik at Tansi Honda way back in 2015. In between, she'd been to Silicon RV Road and Ananda, Bomanahalli but there are some unresolved issues which need some expert attention.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

I contact Didar Egmore, they told 600+125 for each fork and if the problem was the inner tube it costs additionally Rs. 1000 for each side....
That's the right price. The 125 I reckon is for the fork oil. And if the fork tube is scratched it's advisable to get the fork tube replaced for peace of mind. A scratched fork tube can and will leak oil when the slider goes over the tube. Secondly a bent fork can be ment for 350 a fork. If you have a bent fork, get it ment at a place outside and then install them at the SVC, it's cheaper than what's quoted at the SVC.

Welcome back buddy. Kartik from Tansi Honda is still your best bet in Bangalore.

I went to Pilot Honda in Chembur. The technician told me not to replace the CCT as of now. He told me to let it run and if it makes continous noise, then get it changed.
But I'm a little worried about it as it can damage the timing chain. Should I get it replaced ASAP or go with the technician's statement?
And if I go by the tech's statement, can I run it at higher speeds of about 120kph?

Saw your post, so you say that there is a noise near the exhaust area during the first crank of the day? and that it goes away later? could you pin point whether it is coming from the engine or the exhaust pipe itself?, if it is near the exhaust, you may want to get the pipe checked, down below, there is a pipe withing the outer exhaust pipe that tends to get loose when kilometers rack up. For illustration

<------- this is the direction the bike is facing

            \_____/

the left hand slash being the pipe coming out from the engine, whereas the bold one is the main exhaust. I am referring to the part in the middle just below the belly cowl. which is a different section between the two on the side, when you take it off there would be a smaller pipe inside[ perhaps used for the back pressure etc] which is not mounted but rather pressed against the larger outer pipe. Imagine fitting a smaller steel glass inside a larger one with the surfaces touching, so due to the heat, constant expansion and contraction the pipe gets loose over time and therefore the rattle, this goes away after a while because the pipes heat up and they are of the proper diameters.

If the noise did mellow down after the replacement of the CCT, I'd recommend give it some time. And no a tensioner won't damage the chain in anyway, all they do is put stress on the pads which in turn push the pads and tightens the chain, that's all there is to it. You can safely go to speeds above 120 with ease that shouldn't be a hindrance whatsoever.

Yes and no. Yes, in case of emergency, wherein you ride at low revs until you fill up to correct level in the oil inspection window. No, if you're just doing routine oil change. You might forget later to top up, and while riding, might Rev up to overtake, which would starve the engine of oil at high rpms.

Ok correction I have the right amount, due for a oil change, bike has done 3300 kms on motul 10w40, the oil started feeling rough right around 3000kms, got a couple of free bottles of motul 300v 10w40, my last use of the oil last year was very positive, the oil was still good till 5600kms last year, only mostly cause of my fuel pump relay problem, I figured I'll get my bike serviced otherwise no issues whatsoever. I'm mostly opting for this oil for the hitter temperature and the bike felt really smooth for a long time as well.

Glad to be of assistance. I'm interested to know what exactly your CBR went through. Perhaps my front forks need the same treatment.

I don't know what exactly happened...
Suddenly noticed few drops oil in front rim... 2 days it happens, after wiping the oil....odo reads 24000.., so I myself consider it's time to change oil seal and oil....

                                Hi everyone,
My bike's ODO is now at 17779 Kms and it is due for 4th service.

Can anyone tell me what needs to be replaced at this point other than regular stuff like Oil and oil filter.

Also the forks are like juggling when running into a pothole and handlebar are vibrating a lot. DO i need to replace fork oil?
Mileage is now running steady at 35 KMPL. But the gears are getting clunky and clutch is not smooth at all...

looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance.
