Re: Honda CBR 250R
As you said the salesguy was your relative, and your parents are probably just concerned about your safety.. aren't all parents!?
and the salesman is trying to let's say take a 'practical' approach and trying to 'save' your folks some money (and also throwing in the scare factor wrt higher capacity bikes vs safety).
And remember no bike causes the accident, it is the rider at fault.. please do not blame the bike whatever brand it might be. and remember stuff like abs or wearing a helmet/gear only aid you in safety , they cannot prevent accidents totally, just minimize the chances of damage provided you are riding sensibly.
Unfortunately with youngsters access to higher performance machines (compared to say 15yrs ago) and lack of proper awareness/training/common sense, you see/hear about a lot of accidents and parents are scared of it.
It's up to you to convince your parents and hopefully you ride sensibly whatever bike you end up buying.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sellers are incentivized to keep pushing the mass sellers, meaning the Activa, the Shine, the Executive commuter bikes take first priority than the CBR. This is the case with most of the folks out there in the showroom, very few have the proper know-how to actually appease the customer or understand the customer in the first place. Though rest of the details been elaborated by our friends here. It's a wise decision to go with either Hornet 160 ABS which is far more bang for the buck than the xBlade. Re: Honda CBR 250R
A week back had water pump gasket leak issue, Spent 3k in total to get it fixed (at SVC). Was a task to ride it for 1km and then wait for 15mts and do it for 23 kms till I reached home from office. Sanjay was a big help when this happened, was on call with him.
Now its fine and have thought of adding few accessories to my bike.
I was thinking of going for frame sliders (non cut), I know the point that fairing costs less than sliders but the issue with Repsol model is that even the stickers are not available with SVC for fairings. SO anyone here got the sliders? Costs? And any photos will help tooFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

That's how it's supposed to be.Originally posted by yathi View PostOne more QQ. I will just attached the front brake set. Am I missing a nut from the top.
It's high time to change the tire. The cracks are clearly stress induced and over time can expand even more and be extremely detrimental when you least expect. It's imperative that you change this tire on an ASAP basis. Contigos have always been the Achilles Heel of the CBR.Originally posted by yathi View PostHello all, my baby Cbr is a 2016 model and ran so far 13k. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sure guys, what really happened is, I had to spent good amount on my car. So just thought, if I can manage one more month. I am not doing more than 60 these days, just in city. Still I don't want to take any chances. I don't want to go with Pirelli kind of expensive tires. Michelin would be great or least MRF. If you guys can suggest, then it will be great.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks s1d for the detailed explanation. Will be helpful for deciding chain replacement.Originally posted by s1d View Postfrom the pics posted by leech , it's obvious the front sprocket is worn out.
for sprockets, basically there are two thing you should look at for wear.. the first is if the teeth are 'pointed' and second 'hooked' (bent, which is clear in the pics he posted). And other obvious thing is if any tooth are chipped off (which might happen eventually if they are too worn i.e. pointed and hooked)
honda's manual itself iirc provides a pictorial representation of a good vs worn sprocket. Or just do a google search for a good vs worn sprocket and you will get an idea on what i just explained.
a lot wear on these powerful bikes is usually first on the front sprocket.. a worn sprocket will accelerate chain wear. and a worn out front sprocket will cause noise like tak-tak at slower speeds and no amount of adjustment will fix that.
chain slack can be set at the manufacturer's spec (never less) or maybe a wee bit more especially if you weigh north of 85kg or frequently carry a pillion. because remember when you load the bike i.e. sit on it, the chain tightens up.
if you spot a worn front sprocket early enough and are able to just get the front sprocket replaced, that should buy good time between replacing the entire chain kit. this is good enough if you are someone who regularly cleans and lubes the chain (no need to use fancy stuff.. a brush, diesel and gear oil is sufficient) and usually adjustment will be required every 4-5k km as you pointed out.
