During the ride back home, I could feel the difference. Will share my feedback after few months of use.
I don't think that the 2015 stock is the only thing that you will find across India.I saw the 2017 stock today when I got tyres changed.
Thing is the 2015 stock is quite cheap though. You paid 2.8k for the set but the new stock front tyre alone costs 3.1k, and the set comes to 7.5k

Picked-up a bike second hand, yes the previous owner didn't ride it much, and it was mostly kept in garage.

Getting back to riding again after a break of few years now.

Yes, going for the newer make would be the most sensible option. I was ok, with the 2015's since it suited my budget.

You see, that's why I envy you Delhi people, you have karol bagh at your disposal, all requirements and constraints are taken care there. We don't have any such place down in Bangalore and that makes me sad sometimes.

Nope, use it every day haha, unless I'm out if station, every day. I think it's the pads, but they have 3-4k km life, its p220 pads tho.

Take them out and see if there is any uneven wear of the pads.

Hardly used the last few thousand kms.
Sometimes, queaking can be as simple as due to brake dust also commonly referred to as lining dust. If you've replaced your brake pads, it's advisable to clean the entire caliper with kerosene with the pistons and oil seals removed and then installed. Constant squeaking can be caused due to uneven pad wear, especially if it's a non-ABS one. Grease the slider pins, and make sure the area is thoroughly cleaned. Pads get stuck only due to two reasons, faulty piston and a rusted up slider pin which hinder the movement of the pads. Do keep your observations posted.

Any idea when CBR 250R will be available for delivery? I enquired a couple of dealers in Chennai (after seeing the 'Legend is back' poster). They said it will take 45-60 days but they seemed to have little confidence on what they were saying.

I am in dilemma if should get a Dominar 400 or wait until CBR 250R arrives. What do you guys recommend? My priority is Comfort > ABS > Low maintenance > Durability. 95% of my ride is for city commute (50-60km a day). I do not have a bike currently and have to rely on Uber/Ola for commute. The wait is killing me :-)

I'd wait for the CBR250 to be available. The Dominar is heavier in traffic, gives less mileage, and is only 1 second faster than the CBR. Maintenance wise, CBR has one spark plug and it's very easy to change oil, air, filters. Even changing coolant can be done by removing only one part of the lower fairing. For Dominar to change the air filter you have to remove the whole petrol tank. Unnecessary and annoying. For changing the oil, please remove the exhaust, sir.

The plastic tank on the Dominar doesn't feel good, compared to the solid cool metal tank of the CBR250.

Call me biased in favor of the CBR250, but all the so called tech in new bikes is pampering the user. Other than ABS, nothing is actually needed in a 200-400cc motorcycle. The side stand sensor causes problems in D390. They make a TFT that can pair with your phone, but they can't make the damn thing waterproof. The owners have to run around for software updates.

Slipper clutch is your choice. I personally prefer the screech of the rear tyre when I downshift on sandy patches. 9/10 times you don't require slipper clutch.

I don't like the paint quality on the Dominar engine either (2017 batch). The lights however, are awesome.

But the CBR250 comes with LEDs now. Their performance remains to be seen.

All said, I would still prefer a CBR over the Dominar, because the engine is more advanced, albeit less powerful. Also the engine oil capacity of both bikes are almost the same. The coolant capacity is almost the same.

The CBR wins on the quality part alone.

Not aware of similar issues on Dominar, but the new gen Duke390 thread gives the impression that its no better than the first gen Duke 390s.

The new D390 looks much better than the old. Unfortunately the leaking gaskets seem to be recurring. Great bike to ride, but not to own.

And one more thing about Bajaj, they have a habit of quietly discontinuing bikes which have less sales. Happened just now with Avenger 150, if the news reports are right. On the light of that, Honda bringing back the Legend is happy news indeed.

I couldn't agree more.
And I have nothing to add here , all points are covered by leech .
All the extra features offered by the competition are not quite relevant on a day to day basis.Cbr gives you what you need and it has very good quality in whatever it offers.
Even I faced the same dilemma one year back and I chose the Cbr.Haven't regretted the decision yet.

Thanks for your inputs. I am not after slipper clutch (or anything gimmicky like Bluetooth), top speed or mileage. A comfortable riding position (good for rider, manageable for pillion), reliability (where Honda wins), low maintenance and ABS. I sometimes feel I should settle for a 150CC itself but it doesn't feel like an upgrade to me (owned a FZ16 for 8 years).

I don't know much about bikes and believe whatever crap the SVC guys tell me. I had a good experience with Yamaha. Hope I can expect the same from Honda :-)

Hi, I have booked the new CBR 250R, it will be delivered by 1st week of June. Since Honda has not started the production yet.. it will start by this month end or 1st week of may.

I am moving from a benelli 250 (an expensive affair for 2 years) to CBR 250 abs [emoji2]

I see this trend with many bullet loving friends of mine. Almost all have moved on to other bikes realising their practical touring needs.
