I come cross your post in chain lube section that you bought motule chain cleaner, can you please tell me its price. I was quoted 500 for the same.

@Argee may be you an include an update on post 7600 on this? I am a newbie and it ll be helpful for me and many more newbies
Posting on behalf of Aargee. I am sure he would be elated enough

Going for Pidilite chain lube is surely a bad idea. Obvious reason being quality never comes cheap. This may function like a lube for some time but would lose it lubricating property at a faster rate which in turn may affect the drive chain. Motul on the other hand might be a little expensive but it lives up to the dimes spent. Motul chain lube has so far been the best around the corner concerning its ease of availability.

The chain lube costs 510 bucks to be precise enough. At most places, some keepers insist to purchase both the chain clean and lube together. The chain clean comes at 480 bucks. You can obtain both around 980 bucks provided how well you can lubricate the keeper. Chain clean and lube together do a smart job and only experiencing the same can bring a grin on your face.

Well I have tried different things (OKS,MOTUL,Engine oil ) ... Motul does a good job but hey I ll tell you something better I have been cleaning my chain by old method ( Using engine oil ) . Trust me Just try using engine oil for once and see the difference .. Somehow I prefer the old method

The Motul chain lube is 4 times bigger than the Pidilite chain lube .....
Pidilite chain lube comes with just 100 ml ( @ Rs 150/- ) where as Motul chain lube comes in 400 ml ( @ Rs 510/- ) ....
So 1st of all its not " CHEAP " .....

2nd thing ..... without using we should comment on quality.... offcourse its a new product and it is yet to be proven .... Where as Motul is known to us from years

I had been using Motul Chain Cleaner + Chain lube for last 2 yrs ..... Its performance lasts between 500 - 750 kms .....
Brought 2 Pidilite chain lube last week and the test is ON ..... 350 kms and no issues till now .... Will surely update after full test of both bottles ....

My height is 5ft5inch and I think I am trying too hard to reach out to handle bars and it puts a pressure on my shoulders and I am putting too much pressure on handle bars when I am braking/when road conditions are not good . Is there a way to raise handle bars in CBR 250R or may be change anything else to overcome this problem.
                  Any solution for this???

                  • Change your riding position

One way could be to change your riding position. Sit a little back in your seat, hold the tanks with your thighs and bend from the hip not waist. If you are doing it correctly your body weight will not fall on your hands.

This is what people advised me when I was putting too much pressure on my palms and wrist. It is working for me while I am cruising or moving in good speeds. But in start - stop traffic I do put weight on my handle bar and feel pain. Also during long drives, right wrist has some difficulty because of working the throttle.

Some advice could help me too!

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

The advisable solution is to not tinker around with the bike and grip the tank with your thighs and keep your torso free to move with no body weight being transferred through your palms.

This can get difficult on long rides so you might wanna contact icemang

I buy my Motual Chain Cleaner and Chain Lube from Yamaha Service Station ..... Panipat or Karnal
( NOTE : HONDA service station doesn't use Motul Products )

Motul Chain Cleaner is Very Much Effective ....
But if my bike chain is too much dirty ( Due to Mud / Slush or due to terrain / Rainy season ) .... i usually prefer to clean it first with some petrol.

Motul Chain Cleaner useage is totally dependent on how much dirt has accumulated on the chain.
My Chain Cleaner does 6-7 cleaning normally. Where as Motul Lube can be used 8-10 times.

                        Case Study :
If we clean and lube our bike chain after every 600 kms with Motual Products then : 7 cleaning and 10 lubing session will consume One bottle each of Chain Cleaner & Chain Lube which combinely costs Rs 1000/-

So the Charge of Service Station Rs 100/- per Chain Cleaning & Lubing is good enough if they are using MOTUL PRODUCTS.....

I have cleaned and lube my CBR twice in YAMAHA Service Station with paying Rs 150/- each time .... Just be polite to them ..... As they have every right to refuse CBR owners .......

                        • CCT Issue!!!

I found some rattling sound from the engine side only during idling and first cranking of the bike after many hrs(usually in the mornings). When I showed in SVC the mechanic told me it was the probs of CCT(Cam Chain Tensioner). Anyone has changed the CCT and I can't distinguish this sound from that of the shim(as I have changed the shims at 7K). Both these sounds(CCT and shims) seems same for me. Only difference is that shims sound appears all the time but CCT is only at the idealing(when revved or ridden few kms its almost disappeared). Also as the CCT is not available in the SVC is there any probs in riding the bike, doesn't it cause any harm to the engine?

Do not use petrol to clean O ring chain. Petrol is too harsh for the seals in an O ring chain, instead use kerosene if your chain is too dirty.

                              Thanks for the info ....
Just talked to one of the Yamaha Head Mechanic. He said " The dirts like mud and slush has to be clean by water spray and once its properly removed and little bit dried out..... then we have to use Chain Cleaner and then chain lube. If chain cleaner is not available .... the best option is diesel.... if not then kerosene but petrol is strictly NO NO .... Because petrol eats away the O ring and Kerosene is little bit harsh to metal of chains ..... So he says if you are running out of Chain cleaner then only use diesel anotherwise for better chain life CHAIN CLEANERS are always best"

In Chennai, where can we get the Motul chain cleaner and chain lube. I use the OMR road often and any shop between these two locations, I will be every happy.

Also suggest me a good petrol bunk in the OMR stretch from madhya kailash to sholinganallur. I am pretty new to Chennai. Any help is most welcome
