  • Hi Aargee,

You are spot on, over my service history.
I relocated from Adyar to Velachery and hence the ASC change.

I spoke to ASC manager, he says he has ordered the spare from Honda and the delay is from their end dispatch.

I did kinda pushed them to take stock from didar. They said they have contacted and even didar doesn't have stock.

I even got a number of a person from Honda Regional Office, Bangalore and spoke to him. He was more curious of how I got his number rather than helping me with the status. All he managed to say was "I am looking into your case. I will get it done shortly".

What irritates me, is that these people never give a fixed deadline..

      Just want to clarify few things here as it can be easily misunderstood by a larger crowd;

While we were riding between Meppadi to Gudalur, we were enjoying both the scenary as well as riding through the curves; I was in the front while Sai was trailing me about 300 foot of distance. I notice this blue color R15 with two up on my RVM for quite sometime tailing Sai. After a while I see that he has overtaken Sai & I was riding & still waiting for him to overtake me too. But then I notice flashing head lights from Sai & hence I stop. So the R15 gets past us.

Sai said R15 guys were trying to street race with us & on account of safety he wanted us to pull over. Noble thought, I agreed, took some pics & then we started riding once again at our pace.

I think it was around Pandalur junction where these guys were waiting for us; as we turn towards Gudalur road, I once again saw these buggers were trying to talk something to Sai; but he never responded as he couldn't understand them. Then they overtook me while I yielded generously. But then these guys started riding down slow; may be deliberately or due to lack of proper riding skills or both. I was in contemplation to overtake or not for a very reason that would provoke them, but again, if I don't, then we miss our plan of reaching Masinagudi of around 4:30 PM. So I overtake them without turning into their side; that was also when Sai decided to overtake & decided to leave them dust. So I too joined the bandwagon & beat them to pulp in less than 2-3 turns. Finally we reached TN border check post towards Ooty.

That was when Sai also said had we not beat them, their nuisance would keep continuing don't know how long & things might even turned ugly. We waited until they arrived at checkpost (about 2-3 minutes), pay toll & let them vanish from eye sight.

Highly agree to this statement especially on one of the highly clocked bikes of 21500 ODO & yours around 19K on ODO.

They can't...is the truth; you'll have to wait. This is why I always keep saying one has to have a good rapport with ASC without which nothing can be done. Also, it depends on the reputation of the dealer with HMSI in the respective city.

No, but why? We've more than 20K clocked 2 CBR's whose suspensions are fine even after riding through desert, forest & no roads (without mercy); what did you have to do for replacing the oil or is it just asking for information?

PS - I understand you treat your CBR like Wife, but don't you think Frock is all little too much

P.S :- The mileage was tested over a range of 350kms Ooty-Ullundurpet(ooty-mettupalaym-sathyamangala-salem-ullundurpet) at a constant 80kmph in 6th gear at 5krpm. It was mind numbingly boring and tiring, and if not for the company, i would have never ever been able to do it.

No, its not impossible. Even i have got these kind of insane mileage from my ceeber in initial days during the run in and even after that, but then to get these kind of economy one has to take out the fun part of having a sports tourer.

                • techfreak & r13nick - Remember...these are on bikes clocked over 20K; I'm sure at 80 Kmph, had we not taken the ghats, we would've achieved over 47-48 Kmpl

Its a myth!!! The way you ride & treat the machine is also equally important.

You are having CBR for quite some time now.

Can you please tell me the true (GPS) top speed you ever attained, in crouched position?

                        regards

Day1-750kms, Excellent, good, bad, off ,no, half, construction roads(mostly KA). Day2-400kms Again repeat of day1(again mostly KA). Day3 - 600kms, mostly good, except for diversions. Needless to say, the suspension kept taking beating after beating, pothole after pothole, and we kept jumping. We had 0 problems (except RG's taillight stopped working), 0 niggles . We threw them into every corner we saw, and they just took it with a big grin, putting even bigger ones on our faces. Here is the best part, day3-RG and me suddenly decided to do a mileage test after ripping the bikes from Ooty-Mettupalaym, and believe it or not, inspite of the constant accelerating and deceleration in the ghats of about 60 kms, we still achieved a mind boggling mileage of 45.6kmpl(both the bikes, not just one). Now, that being said, it just goes on to prove the fact that CBR is undoubtedly one of the best bikes that money can buy and it is more often than not heavily underrated !

Bro, I had confusion over whether to buy CBR250 or CBR 150. The oly thing that im going to purchase CBR 150 is that it gives more mileage and less weight than CBR 250.
But ur 250`s mileage is making me amazed.

Yea, that's what Sai mentioned very clearly under what circumstances. Besides that's not the ONLY criteria to go for CBR 250R; if FE is the only criteria, there're several other motorcycles isn't it?
