Any guesses? The cable is fine, i visually inspected it. I used to have this problem with my bullet, where the casing used to be removed and the clutch would be manually tightened, not just a minor cable adjustment.

if you see my sig i have a 77 bulltet too and CBR is what stone age is to 2015... no compare. no clutch alignment needed. its just the cable. ask them to adjust the free play properly. if the cable is still getting loose then check the bottom nut if its slipping and causing the same. (nut on the engine cover ). not a major issue.

I am from Chennai and i got my new Red CBR 3 weeks back and still waiting for the first service deadline. ODO reads 680km. I don't do sudden acceleration , but went upto 80-85 max in 5k rpm on the 6th gear. I don't cross more than 5.5k rpm in the lower gears. Now recently i am hearing the "clank" sound of gear switching which is a bit louder than before. And also the gear shifting seems to be a bid harder than it was a week back. Is it the right time for a service? Will these be solved in my first service? And my SVC is Maansarovar Honda,Medavakkam. I want to see how they service my bike, but skeptical whether they will allow me in. And what will be the approx. cost in my first service, provided they call it "free service". Thanks in advance
that sound is coming due to gear slotting while clutch is not 100% pulled. get clutch slack adjusted. same issue as above..

Thanks to Bhpians, the kat kat sound disappeared with the change of tensioner. Cost 470 ₹.
I am such a noob, that I didnt even knew, CBR has two accelerator cable. Yes even after riding for almost 2 years. One of the cable is jammed, hence accelerating feels hard and tiring.

In the case of my ride there was corrosion on the handle bar causing the accelerator twist to get jammed.

Woo. Will keep that in mind before changing the cable. 'corrosion' sounds scary. :-o

No concrete news on 300R. AFAIK, 250R's production is halted. You maybe lucky to get one. I would say, no point waiting. 300R may come next month or next year, who knows?

Now even i used to think the production was stopped, but then Vijay's bike was dec 2014 manufactured and recently a member did post about an april 2015 manufactured bike. So now it raises the doubt again, is it really stopped ?

I guess the production may not be fully stopped. They're still churning out limited numbers.

OT: I saw Phanikar running in the older ZMR bought less than a month back. Old stock still available if you are lucky or you can pull strings.

The current production of CBR250R is not stopped, yet they take very limited orders and deliver in a couple of months. My CBR was manufactured in April 2015. My friend booked a "Pearl Sunbeam Whilte" CBR last month and he is expecting it to be delivered by the end of July or in August. The showroom guys have no clue about the 300R. Although one of the showroom guy told me that the latest CBR650 will roll out by July with a pricetag of 2.5Lakh I had a good laugh and walked out of the showroom.

new owners including me got the bike manufactured in recent months. So Its clear the company didn't halt the production for sure. I think it happens in a very low volume for very low booking they get.
