Disclaimer : These things are not to be tampered with. If anything happens to the speedo, you'll need to pay 6K for a new one as it cannot be repaired if something goes wrong.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostIts not Orange its Red and blue tint can be taken care of by stickers or paint no big deal.
The SMDs here were from a meter repairer that I took the meter to originally. He put in these amber (not orange) SMDs, but they were very low in brightness and hence I took the decision of doing it properly and put in warm white 3528s myself.
The CBR 300R console has Orange SMDs, I believe, not Red. Basically the 3 SMD tints I have observed are Amber (as in the ABS light) and the backlight for the image above, Orange (tends to be a lighter red) and Red (very deep red). The red would not work for the console probably, but to give the 300R red look, the Orange SMD would suffice. While there are other variations (and Honda might have some other variation), they are custom manufactured and not easily available, or available in bulk only. Of course, you could get lucky....
Dandamudi Mohan Krishna, how do you propose to use stickers or paint to take care of a digital LCD. AFAIK, only the polarization can be changed.

I was almost ready to replace the speedo because my lights were gone almost a year ago and the biggest problem I face is checking fuel gauge at night time.
I see blue tint only below RPM meter needle that can be covered completely with sticker or paint. The LCD lights can be changed which you have shown.
But now I have second thoughts about the colors I always liked the R15's white color also. I'm still doing research though will let you know if finalize something.Last edited by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna; 07-03-2015, 01:41 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My friend who owns a cbr always says he had to change the shim when he went in for service. What is a shim and how does one know when to replace or repair it? I recently bought a cbr 250 which is 3 years old but had done only 10000 kms. So i don't really know much about the bike.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
met a cbr guy with 50k on odo and he casually came up and asked me how much for each service abnd i said can be anything between 1500 - 3000 and he says you know past few services i have paid 15k and i was like " whatttt" he very normally says i changed disc plate and brake pads every 6k since last 4 services and i was like you are great saaar..Originally posted by aargee View PostThank God!! one reason company makes a thick user manual as there is a lot of things to read in it. shim change depends on usage however 25000 km is good time for shim replacement as i know.Originally posted by backlash4u View PostWhat do u mean? Re: Honda CBR 250R
God!! He's a lord (lord labukkudas!!) Please ask him, if he has the old parts, especially the rotors & caliper kit & if he's willing to sell for 50% of the cost; I will need a rotor in some 10K odd Km & this will be of a good use to me.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postmet a cbr guy with 50k on odo and he casually came up and asked me how much for each service abnd i said can be anything between 1500 - 3000 and he says you know past few services i have paid 15k and i was like " whatttt" he very normally says i changed disc plate and brake pads every 6k since last 4 services and i was like you are great saaar..Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I gave my bike for first service when the ODO was showing 750km and now its around 1.3k km. One thing i've noticed that after my service was done, they changed oil and oil filter, topped up the coolant, but in the computerised bill, it was showing Oil replaced as 1 litre and oil filter too was changed. I found this very late. It is supposed to be around 1.5l if i'm not wrong. Though the bike is smooth now compared during the break-in period. But still i find the first two gears with hard clanking sound and occasional false neutral. Is it advisable to do a complete oil and filter replacement after 1k km from my first service?? And investing in Motul 300v a better idea? or just Honda's 10W30 FS oil would suffice? Thanks in advance.

its supposed o be 1.4L without OIL filter
and 1.5L with oil filter
and 1.9 L with engine overhaul. unsure why and how it came into bill. and no its not advisable to change oil after 1K of first service. its ideally wasting money.
follow the service interval as per service manual.
300v works well with KTM's for now stick to Honda 10w30. if you want to venture out on alternate oil then opt for Shell Ultra FS."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

I had this exact same issue, all I did was purchased a pack of araldite, removed my headlight and applied the araldite bond on the case of the headlight where gaps were there and voila, problem solved.
Cheers,
Sanjay

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Had & still have exactly the same problem; fortunately, I'm not a person who likes to ride in rain, so less monsoon rides, better; I would go with what Sanjay suggested; if you're not comfortable with the task, please ask a competent ASC to get this work done.Originally posted by Ayns View Postaargee need some help from u bro , i have attached my cbr's headlight picture - i have bought the bike(used) recently - and from that moment on headlights are like ( as shown in the attached picture) that only.
