    Ram bhai,

Conset will not be covered in warranty like the clutch plates.

And even if you want to lube/grease the conset, the entire fork assembly along with the T-stem will be removed. So its better to get the checks done. As you will not remove the forks all the time.

SVCs checks the alignment by rotating the wheel and by riding the bike

SVCs dont have those machines available with them, hence they will take the forks as well as wheel for alignment to some other workshop who specializes in them.

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

Need some input. Today early morning went for a small ride with only 1 bar at the fuel gauge. But that was not blinking. So I am sure that the bike was not in reserve.

I touched 137kmph and then after that it was hiccuping, struggling to go past that even when fully crouched.

Then came home, I was waiting at the signal, as soon as the lights went green. I started then a big hiccup as if there was no petrol in the bike. Got shit scared, switched off the bike and took it to nearest petrol pump on foot. Filled her to the brim and then there were no hiccups.

Any chances of fuel pump playing foul here considering there was less fuel..? I repeat again there was one bar and that too it was not blinking. So it pretty much had 4 to 4.5 liters

Fuel pump.is priming all the time when used kill switch. I suppose even if it is gone kaput it will prime.

Engine oil level is the same when the bike was serviced, no drop in the oil level.

      Inputs please.

      Cheers,
      Sanjay

It happens when there's less fuel.. high speeds lead to more fuel consumption also the uel gauges aren't always a 100℅ accurate.. So theres jerking dur to improper fueling.. let the bike run for a few kms.. problem will most prob be resolved IMO..

After coming home, I filled her to the brim and took for a short ride. There is no problem now.

But I am bit worried about the fuel pump.

Others, your thoughts and solutions are welcome.

          Cheers,

Appears no issues for now; but next time, when there's only one bar of fuel, DO NOT over speed like this (unless you know the fuel & fuel station is only a Km or so away for sure) & try to cruise around 70-80 Kmph on top gear for optimum FE until you do a full tank.

It maybe priming due to a lose contact in the kill switch.

                Thanks. RG.

Priming/unpriming/not priming is not an issue.

I was scared about the big jerk the bike gave and post that I did not even start the engine, manually took the bike to the petrol station and filled her and rode her.

I have a small tour coming up this weekend. Will check the behaviour then. I will not do such speed when my fuel is low, will follow it religiously.

                Thanks all.

                Cheers,

Just some food for thought - my Tricolor ABS 250R is June 2015 manufactured. They've probably just reduced the vehicles churned out owing to low volumes.

The good thing is, now my bike is unique on the road. In the past week that I've had my bike and have ridden around Bangalore ( random places, work and back ), I've seen a ridiculous number of Dukes ( both 200s and 390s ), a single CBR150R and no CBR250Rs at all. Which is frankly surprising, considering I saw far more Harleys ( a regular lives somewhere on the way to work ).

Makes me really glad I didn't buy the Duke.

Also, for reference, I got my bike instantly ( as in, a day to process registration ) without booking it in the first place.

The tri color CBR's are rare to an already rare bike in contrast with the dukes. In my time here at bangalore i have seen maybe 5 tri color bikes at best. Mine is a tri color too, took it almost 2 years back, still feels wonderful to think about the exclusivity the color holds.

And another thing, you checked the frame number to say that it is a June 2015 manufactured ? So then it again gives us clue that production has not actually stopped.

                    Cheers

Yeah, the rarity of the color is great. Elicits a lot of stares from everyone. No pictures though.

And yeah, I checked the chassis number for the month and year of manufacture. Hence June 2015. Bike is still in production.

They *may* stop production if Honda announces the 300R or the upgraded 250R ( from Indonesia ) on August 4th.

Thanks for the prompt reply. My chain set is due for a replacement. I am getting the original HMSI chain set at a spares shop. Just wanted to verify the sprockets before buying. Planning not to change it at asc.

Guys, I did the air filter cover mod. Bike feels easier to ride at low revs, and vibes have drastically reduced. And that intake drone! Anybody having negative experiences when riding with the air filter cover off?

sounds good. also if the bike is done 30-40k try changing the damping rubbers as well as they tend to get hard at times.

                                well.. a few pointers.

a few things have been dyno tested. lemme add a few points below.

                                > low end seems good and usable in city
                                > there is marginal improvement in mid range torque.
                                > the 6k rpm power band surge will be completely gone.
                                >top end goes very flat.
                                >you will make the bike run leaner which can result in over heating over prolonged usage.
                                >the power curve changes and its not a welcome change.
                                > chances of letting more dust sucked in are higher.
                                > vibes reduce for few days and then it will increase again once the ECU adapts over a few 100 km's

if you like it you can keep it that way. works fine for city ,
for someone like me who is touring with speeds on 100+ on good highways you won't find it interesting.
