Very simple, have the pilot lamp on always.

That is what I do.

even if its on the speedo light is not visible unlike zma due to transparent windscreen.
you can black it out or vinyl it.

My only concern & request is, most people post based on hear-say and needless to say the listening skills of our Indians, which is very famous over the world; and its extremely easy to forget what was done in the past. Even before I could make a post here, I had to refer to my records. So you see, its very easy even for a damn crazy owner, then imagine the plight when such things get through several ears & mouth.

i will keep a check on my changes going ahead however i am certain first 3-4 services i did change both the pads along or around the service times which makes it6-7k interval.

I used the search option in this forum to find Aargi facing same problem, root cause being engine seizure. I pray that mine should not be the same (out of warranty)
And one another user faced same situation where his friend fiddle with gear(not my case though).
You could start by checking the battery. When was the last time you topped up the battery with distilled water? Do the lights on your console go dull when you hit the started button?

cbr runs on a factory sealed battery. not suggested to pry open and do any kind of mods as the battery sits at an angle and seepage of fluid outside can cause mild to major issues.

if the startor motor is spinning but not starting it cannot be electricals. you should hear the normal fuel pump priming sound. if your head anything else i would suggest to call up SVC .in this scenario there can be many things.

spark plug.
fuel filter clogged.
engine seizure (if there was no oil and it suddenly stopped after 500 metres )
loose conenctions.
even fuel pump.

it will need time to isolate the issue and better to get the technician look at it. unless see personally identifying issue will be difficult.

Finally the time has come to replace the OEM battery - after 4 years.

What is the battery most of you are replacing it with? We will require a 12v 6AH battery right? Let me know options and price ranges - need to get this done as soon as possible. Thanks!

Do get this checked up with SVC , better than asking here, as the best we can guess is that either the fault is with the speedo causing it to flicker due to loose contact, or there is indeed something wrong with the ABS which means the bike is not in a condition to ride, Faulty abs should be dealt with carefully.

Cheers

Thanks ! I will take it to SVC just wanted to check anybody have faced similar issue so that I can ask SVC to check directly based upon the inputs in the community.
And good thing about ABS is that it gets disabled but brakes work normally you can feel lot of difference though with and without ABS.
Regards,

Yeah, ABS and non ABS does make a difference, but when you have a faulty ABS , you never know if the ABS kicks in at the wrong time to improper sensor feeding wrong data, it could very well be the reason you might fall down. So better to get it to the svc.

And not to worry, they have the ECU diagnostic tools, which they can directly get any error codes to find out if there is actually any problem with the ABS unit at all.

Cheers

Update:
Tried my luck one more time before going to svc. Two-three attempts failed. Then on final attempt, opened throttle fully with self start and engine responded after 5-6 seconds delay. finally it started.
Kept the engine running for 5 mins.
It didnt happened anytime during my 1 month of ownership. Starting the CBR was just a matter of touch on self start button.
Checked again after 1 hr. Now it seems normal.
theironhorse99, my CBR has done only 4975 kms.
No past issues as informed by previous owner (no one will tell, if there were any problems[emoji1] ) but that guy was honest and gave me full service record. No major finding in that.

i will check for this issue with svc during next servicing.

if it started with open throttle then no issues. its a reported issue at multiple forum where people suggested to turn off ignition completely and then turn it on and try starting with half/full open throttle however it happens very rarely. something to do with very less fuel values while DE-acceleration as per the Fi- mapping.

nothing to worry about.
